Happy B-b-e-i-l-r-a-t-t-h-e-d-d-a-y-! (belated birthday)

So I got to try one of these out today and I must say... ... doesn't the Aqua Blue look pretty? But seriously... I was quite impressed at what the unit could actually do, I only played it for about 15 mins but that was enough to convince myself that I still wanted one, not that it was ever in doubt mind. And although the Blue does look nice in reality I'm still gonna be buying a Black 3DS because I reckon that'll look even sleeker somehow but if it came down to it then I would buy one on launch day regardless of colour because it's that damn good.

Is the world actually ending? Japan hit by quake and tsunami
S.C.G replied to flameboy's topic in General Chit Chat
Same... :/ is that bad? I don't think it is given that this is a Nintendo fan-site, so such things are going to be in the forefront of our minds. But this is a terrible disaster on almost a Magnitude 10 scale, I really hope Japan doesn't end up getting K-O'd by this not to mention other countries too. -
Fear not for I'm only now about to tackle the third gym, so I'm not that far either but I shall be putting in some serious playtime on it this week for I don't have work, plus we don't have a review up on-site yet so... busy times are ahead.

Just in case anyone hadn't noticed and wanted to see the review, it's now up on the main site... http://www.n-europe.com/review.php?rid=561 Enjoy!

Happy Birthday!

The thought of posting this thread did cross my mind I must admit but I figured someone else would anyway so... In any case, Happy Extra Birthday Pancake! :p

Laura Marling - Alas I Cannot Swim £3.99 in Play.com's pancake day sale.

So I've been taking my time with this game, I haven't even beaten the first Gym yet tbh... mainly because I've been playing/reviewing Kirby's Epic Yarn but I've decided to play Pokemon Black a fair bit today, I downloaded the Liberty Ticket so that's soemthing to look forward to later on. Also I love Lillipup for its 'Pickup' ability alone, I haven't had to buy a single item yet because every couple of battles this Pokemon keeps picking up potions and balls etc lol I even had it pick up an Ultra Ball which I thought was amusing being that I don't think I can even buy those yet. :p

Happy Birthday Tapedeck!

And... I'm back! Just had a two hour lesson in a new(ish) Ford Fiesta with a very calm and collected driving instuctor, which I think made all the difference... it didn't take long to remember everything, perhaps 20 mins? which isn't bad considering I haven't driven in at least 5 or 6 years. I think the year and a half experience of riding a bike to work and then my accident nearly half a year ago has changed the way in which I now see the roads... and I think it's for the better too as I remained very cautious throughout, spotting potential hazards before they'd occur while maintaining a decent speed. Yes I did stall the car... about two or three times in fact but it was actually good as it helped with the re-learning progress to a degree and I'm learning not to stress when it happens but to take on-board what I've done wrong so that it shouldn't happen again hopefully. I went away from the lesson reasonably happy, I've booked another two hour lesson for two weeks time and it'll be that way until I pass my theory again which I managed to get a copy of the CD-Roms for, so all in all a pretty decent lesson.
-
*Mega Bump!* Just about to go on my first driving lesson in over 5 years... should be interesting, will report back later all being well.

I may wait until I get a 3DS before I download the liberty pass... I just went to download it and that message appears 'treats your save data and this Nintendo DS as a set etc' though I remember you saying Serebii that it doesn't actually matter or at least it didn't on previous versions. Maybe I'll just do the sensible thing and download it now, keeping my DSi for... y'know, DS games.

And... I've completed the game! several hours ago infact, not just all levels either but everything so I've now officially 100%'d it and it feels goooood! ^^ I knew this game would be something special right from the start and I'm glad that I decided to play it to the very end, this will allow me to expand on the very favourable review that I'm currently putting the finishing touches to so now you can expect to see it in a day or two, I just hope that you all think its worth the wait... ... and even if you don't I'm not too concerned because I've actually genuinely enjoyed reviewing this title about as much as I've enjoyed playing it because it truly is just that good. Kirby of the Stars is going to have to be pretty darn special in order to even hope that it'll stack up well against Kirby's Epic Yarn because truthfully it's one of the best games I've played and one of the most enjoyable Kirby titles I've ever had the pleasure of playing. : peace:

I canant wait for it either...
-
You really should Rummy, I've been playing the game almost soley single-player and it's amazing the two-player is just an option, plus if you make any significant progress on your own, when you go to play two-player again then you can easily replay each stage, in fact it's one of those games where it's recommended to replay each stage just because it's such a joy to play!

I wasn't that bothered about MHT... it was 'sold' to me under the pretense that 'it's like PSO only with bigger monsters' that's not the case, I'm not saying that it's a bad game, it's good... if you can get into it, but yes it does require a very specific taste. Anyway, back on-topic! Kirby, you amazing pink ball of fudge! This game reminds me so much of just how great a character Kirby really is and that its been far too long since he had a genuinely amazing game such as this. While it's true that Epic Yarn may have started life as an original IP, bringing Kirby into the fray and then tailoring the game specifically to tie-in with the much loved franchise was a bold move indeed and one that makes so much sense which is all the more evident the further you progress in the game. Vibrant levels featuring endearing enemies, terrific transformations and the ability to disappear through doors and behind the very fabric itself... it's things like this that not only make the game but they make it a Kirby game and hes not only made his mark on this title but rather stitched it in permenantly. Hmmm... that's definitely going in the review speaking of which I'm almost done, just tweaking it currently but also ensuring that I've explored everything that the game has to offer, I've almost 100% completed the game - as in everything, not just golding all the levels - so I'm gonna go finish it now and then hopefully have the review finished today too.

Regarding the pixelated look, I actually quite like it... I see it as a deliberate throwback to how Pokemon used to be rather than a lack of detail.
-
So first impressions from less than 15 mins of play... Intro... not too fussed about, but the main theme is sublime the presentation seems to be greatly improved, menus are easier to navigate plus the battle animations and enhanced graphics add a decent amount of superfifical depth, bringing the world to life just that little bit more. I can't wait to properly get stuck into the game.

Black it is then!
-
Ah ok... kind of leaning towards Black now then... but... I have them both in front of me right now! - post just arrived - and Zekrom looks so awesome on the front cover of White... then again Reshiram does look more... majestic. *dilemma* There's only one way to settle this... People of N-E! I put the question to thee... Which out of the two legendaries do you prefer?
-
Ah ok... then... which version - in your professional opinion - do you prefer? please don't say 'both' even though I know you probably will... :p
-
So hopefully I should be receiving both Pokemon Black and White in the post from Shopto today - one of them is for my brother - so which copy do I pick? I was kinda leaning towards White... but then again... are the cartridges coloured? because I'm going to be getting a Black 3DS and I'm certain I'll still be playing Pokemon by then so a solid black card would look nicer, also my brother kind of wants White because he knows that means he'll get the 'black legendary' Zekrom isn't it? - Reshiram for White - but then again I quite like the look of Zekrom... argh! Which one is better? there's only one way to find out... Fight!

Hmm... I tried downloading those lightsabers via that link but when it was added to my queue it just said 'item assigned to another console' I'm guessing it's something to do with when I bought the new Xbox, but I transferred everything over including licences so...

It's not actually anything that great, it's just users creating their own RB tracks or something to that effect, but it's limited like the XNA as in I think you have to pay for it... there are a good few RBN songs but honestly I've never bothered to download any. Anyway, Pretty Hate Pack 01 is gonna be availabel today! It contains - as you may have guessed - four tracks from Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails it's their first album and it's still considered to be their best and the track selection is excellent... Terrible Lie Head Like a Hole Sanctified The Only Time Also being that the pack has '01' on the end it suggests that we may get more from that album which would be awesome, either way though I'm happy, more NIN hells yeah!
