  1. Well... I've got a Switch game to look forward to afterall. (aside from Metroid Prime 4) Also, I was out of the amiibo game as I sold most of them but I kept Mario, Sonic, two Link's and all of the Metroid amiibo's. I guess I'll be purchasing just these two figures, and THEN I'll be out of the amiibo game. (again) Same for games in general, I'll be buying this, and Metroid Prime 4 when it comes out, but not a lot else. Anyway... Metroid Dread exists! E3 is 'saved' for now at least.
  2. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022 Now up on the main page. Full press release/fact sheet and video link. - - - - -
  3. If anyone actually wants to buy Demon Throttle the Switch game which is physical only, you can get it on Special Reserve Games website, but there is a queue system in place to even get on the website, current estimated wait time is approximately 1-2 hours. (variable) although, it's currently displaying 39 minutes. Going by previous releases from this retailer, the price will probably be around £30... which for what looks like, what would normally be a relatively small digital game... is potentially a bit excessive, though I'm in the queue now, so I'll let you know what the actual price is in around half an hour, in case anyone is interested. I'm not sure if I'll actually be buying it, I just clicked on the link as I've bought games from Special Reserve Games before, though I'm not as into physical Switch games, or games in general as I once was... also, forget what I said about the wait time, the website just loaded, and sure enough, it's around £30. - - - - - As for the show... it's a standard Devolver Digital press conference... whatever qualifies as 'standard' for them anyway, it played exactly to expectations... ...though so did the Ubisoft conference, unsurprisingly. (Mario + Rabbids sequel... fantastic news for fans of the original, but other than that?) Next up, Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, tomorrow at 6pm (UK time) Get ready for Gears, Halo, Forza, Skyrim 4K, Perfect Dark, and maybe one or two interesting announcements?
  4. N-E Café Episode 70 now available! Now up on the main page. - - - - - Welcome back to the N-E Café Podcast, it's great to have another episode up on the site, and an E3-themed episode at that. Excellent timing, and I very much enjoyed hearing about all of your predictions for the event, plus catching up with all the games you've been playing. Only a week to go until Nintendo's E3 Direct, it'll be nice to hear what you all thought about it, so I'll look forward to your reactions in the next episode. An E3 related banner, featuring the latest E3 logo, plus a couple of titles we're likely to see (or not), also, bonus point for anyone who can guess which game logo that I took the 'HYPE' text from... It's quite a well-known title, but it felt right to put something hype-related in an E3 banner, as it just goes with it. As for the transition tune, I'm not really sure but I'll have a guess... Thanks for an excellent episode, and N-Europe is grateful for any future episodes that you can produce going forward, as I understand that it takes a lot of time and energy in order to create each show. It's a really decent podcast though, with solid production values, and some good group discussion. Roll on E3 for next week... as while I'm not generally as enthused for Nintendo and videogames as I used to be, even I can't say that I'm not at least a little bit hyped after listening to a whole podcast about it. (an appearance from Samus Aran is bound to happen, be it a cameo, new trailer for Metroid Prime 4, a spin-off, port or Metroid Dread revival/Metroid Prime Trilogy HD)
  5. My copy arrived... Dust cover get! (I might give the book a read later)
  6. Super Mario 3D World so that Toad can run at 200cc+ equivalent speed.
  7. Nintendo Direct E3 2021 to be broadcast on 15/06/2021 Up on the main page. The full roundup article with the press release etc will probably be up on the main page shortly after the event airs in just under two week's time. Personal expectations? Metroid Dread. Realistic expectations? New amiibo, (which I won't buy... unless Metroid) New Switch console, (hardly any need to upgrade) and 1-2-3 Switch! (...)
  8. If Sega can't fix Sonic 3 & Knuckles, for a compilation, released to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary, then they'll never bother to fix it. Sonic 3 & Knuckles just isn't the same game without the iconic music for Ice Cap zone and other stages. One of the last great ports of the game I played, was the Wii Virtual Console version, even that wasn't one hundred percent perfect, as it had very slight sound differences in a small number of instances due to the emulation, but even that had the lock-on functionality and all of the original music intact. It's no longer available too, well... via official means at least. I'm glad that I still have it on my original launch day Wii. To have the collection, of all the original Mega Drive games and Sonic CD as a compilation, with all of the correct music and full widescreen support, would be a most excellent addition to current and modern platforms, as it would ensure the accessibility of the games for a good while longer. - - - - - Look what I found from the N-E archives... (well... the text at least, but I still have the images and banners saved, so I've re-added them back in for this forum post retro review revival)
  9. I'd usually say that it's worth gettiing a physical copy, but in this instance... it's probably better to go digital, just to not have those boxarts. Also, I think the Nintendo Store UK (or general) pre-order bonus will be an A3 poster featuring the boxart, dual-sided of course with the other version on the reverse, no escape!
  10. it certainly seems that way... but there's still time for everything to change... ...it's coming up for E3 afterall, we might still get that Twin Snakes remake yet. Or maybe not, and it's all for nothing... and Konami really did just get David Hayter to voice a character cameo in a free-to-play Bomberman game, and that's it. Snake? SNAKE?!? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!
  11. Translated text from the article... (In case people don't want to click on the news site and deal with all the vast amount of tracking cookie exceptions) In summary... possible higher resolution, better display, DLSS... Switch Pro then?
  12. Release dates for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Now up on the main page. Seeing as The Pokémon Company put out all of the release dates of their Pokémon games at once... ...it only seemed right to roll them into one article, with zero fanfare and a banner which showcases it all. Enjoy? - - - - -
  13. Monster Hunter Digital Event May 2021 Roundup Up on the main page. N-Europe's roundup of the event, full press release and video link. (will update with video embed, whenever the software enables it again) - - - - -
  14. Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES applications get new games added next week Now up on the main page. If you've not played Magical Drop II before, and you have Nintendo Switch Online... and you like Puzzle games, it's worth checking out. Also, online multiplayer gives this version a unique selling point over the ACA Neo Geo version. - - - - -
  15. Monster Hunter Digital Event to be broadcast on Wednesday 26th May at 3PM UK time Up on the main page. N-Europe will have a full roundup available, shortly after the presentation on Wednesday. - - - - -
  16. No worries. I can't give you a 'yes' or 'no answer personally, as I haven't played the game, but the general answer from the review would be a 'yes' I'd have said. Anyway, it's well worth reading, as it's a thorough review, which I enjoyed reading, and even though I'm not buying the game, I can see the appeal of it.
  17. Here's the official N-Europe review by @Ashley which is well worth reading, and may help with your potential purchase decision... New Pokémon Snap N-Europe Review
  18. Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind is out now Now up on the main page. Check the article for the press release and launch trailer. - - - - -
  19. I have the game, I bought it on release, played it over a weekend, and have never played it since. I get it though, if you haven't got a GameCube set up, then there's that, then there's getting the bongo controller out and getting used to the peripheral again... Once it is all set up though, the game itself is great fun, from what I remember, and you could probably play it in an afternoon. But when there are loads of other games which you could be playing almost instantly on other consoles, I can see why Donkey Kong Jungle Beat doesn't get played much.
  20. Project Justice: Rival Schools 2 Great game, I've played it a few times, though when it comes to Fighting games, I don't tend to stick with them. I've been going through a lot of my retro games, recently that has included Dreamcast as well, and I've only opted to keep a handful of Fighting games. This game was going to be one of the titles I'd choose to keep, but if it comes down to it, I can sell it... though I might play it again soon, just to see if I can persuade myself to keep it, as it is a pretty fun and original Fighting game... just as the original game is. Infact, it's a wonder that Capcom haven't ever capitalised on re-releasing either of these titles, aside from the original Rival Schools getting a PSN release, though that seems to be only in Japan, though I suppose you could make a Japanese account if you wanted to get it, but the point still stands, why not re-release both games as a double pack across all platforms for £25? We already know that both Power Stone games are on the cards, so I think Rival Schools and Project Justice at least have half a chance if that re-release sells.
  21. Game Builder Garage announced for Nintendo Switch, out on June 11th Now up on the main page. Full press release and video embed. - - - - - Nobody - "We haven't had a new game announcement in a while..." Nintendo - "Oh, here's this Game Maker software, it's out in a month, enjoy!" Clearly Nintendo is expecting us all to make our own games now in the "droughts" between major game releases. Oh well, it's good to have options.
  22. I just thought that the game was lacking in so many ways, plus I tend not to play games which force the use of joy-cons. If I was in a situation where a local-multiplayer game was going to be played, and that game had to be a Mario Party title, I'd probably just play Mario Party 1, 2 or 3. Nintendo could re-release those on a cart as a compilation, or make N64 games available as part of Nintendo Switch Online, and they'd probably do pretty well, though N64 games as part of the NSO service, would probably be a bit on the generous side for Nintendo, when they know that they can make more by re-releasing compilations. Heck, why not a Super Mario 3D All-Stars style compilation, with the best Mario Party game from the N64, GC and Wii era? That'd be Mario Party 2, 4 and 9... right?
  23. Nice to see this now has an online mode. It's not enough to save the game for me personally, I sold my copy of it recently, but this is a decent (if unexpected) update to the game either way.
