  1. Well, I haven't played a Spider-Man game since The Amazing Spider-Man Vs The Kingpin on the Sega Mega-CD, I haven't watched a Spider-Man film since the original modern Spider-Man 2, I've never really properly read any of the comics since... a while ago; and I'm actually considering buying this game. Maybe not on release, but at some point, if it turns out to be the 9/10 excellent Spider-Man game that I think it will be.
  2. Sweet, out of those Xbox Original games, the notable top three I already have and want to play or play again are... Breakdown - A first-person, sci-fi/horror title featuring seemingly in-depth combat and an intruiging storyline, it's a Pal copy, European language, office sample from Namco purchased in a lot of Xbox games and I've been waiting to play it. Conker: Live & Reloaded - Firstly, if you've never played Conker's Bad Fur Day then... what's wrong with you? Secondly, if you've never played this remake then... well I can understand because the multiplayer is completely different but the single player mode had completely redone textures etc and it looked amazing back in the day, but through Xbox One BC with further possible resolution upgrades? It's a must purchase digitally if you either don't own Rare Replay (again why you wouldn't if you own an Xbox One is beyond me) which has the original or if you don't own the Xbox disc for this version. (Yes I like Rare, Yes I'm a biased Conker fan, Yes I have two Conker plushes in my Rare collection... what of it?) Panzer Dragoon Orta - It has been too long! Finally! I'll get to play one of my favourite Xbox games of all time from one of my favourite series of all time, hopefully this time in non-glitched form! Because of the poor handling of BC on the Xbox 360, I have not properly played this amazing game since it originally came out on the Xbox *looks longingly at the back of the box of the original game* in 2003! The game is an impressive on-rails shooter with the difference being that you can fire in any direction in 360 degrees, it also has Dragons in it, sublime graphics which are timeless thanks to its art-style, a stunning soundtrack and quite challenging gameplay. Please play this is you have any interest at all in the Panzer Dragoon series. Obviously honourable mentions go to most of those Star Wars titles (Kotor 1&2 especially) plus Destroy All Humans and pretty much every other title which @Hero-of-Time highlighted above. Today is a good day for games.
  3. That's what I was wondering... I've yet to invest in the game series at all. Maybe that will change with the series being on the Switch? I'm still not sure though. I like the idea behind it all but, I just think the series could do with leaning a bit more into the Yo-Kai stuff, in a way that might give it more of a mature theme perhaps? Obviously not too mature so as to not lose the audience they've gained but I don't know, it will just be interesting to see if they take a slightly different direction.
  4. Remembering WiiWare #4 Written by Hero-of-Time There we are, I said the fourth edition would arrive sooner rather than later. Both reviews are excellent reads as well @Hero-of-Time so it was a pleasure to put them upon the main page. It also reminds me that I've got all these WiiWare titles to play now... Maybe I'll get around to writing one or two WiiWare reviews myself when I hook up my Wii again via RGB Scart.
  5. Half of those characters in the trailer are probably getting edited if this arrives over here. Personally, I really hope it does make it over here though, I'd buy it. For a moment, I thought this was a collection of the entire series for Switch and while I'm not disappointed as the 3DS is where this series lives, it took me a while to work it out. Though... I'm still not sure if I follow completely, so this isn't a substitute for playing the entire series but more like a Monster Hunter Generations situation?
  6. As luck would have it, I'm pretty sure I picked up a copy of Destroy All Humans in with a lot of Xbox games, so that's another title I can play. I might see about grabbing a copy of Morrowind before the price goes sky high. As for Sega games, I pretty much picked up most of the Sega games on the machine that I'll ever need, at least twelve so far, so I'd love for those to be added. It feels odd to be speculatively buying Xbox Original titles, just in case they are made backwards compatible for the Xbox One but I do like the concept of being able to play them. Otogi and Otogi 2 next please!
  7. I think there's a way to force VGA mode on those kind of games... Essentially... start it in TV Mode on the box, turn on Dreamcast, wait for the swirl and then press the button when you hear the Dreamcast has finished loading. It takes a litttle bit of practice but once you've got the timing down, it's fine... I had to go through this so that I could play Cannon Spike. Worth it.
  8. Remembering WiiWare #3 Written by Hero-of-Time I had meant to have this up sooner but there was that mad scramble for WiiWare and then time just muscle-marched on. Thanks again @Hero-of-Time for writing these and I'll get on putting up #4 a lot sooner. Has anyone else got points in their account still out of curiosity? I've still got 10,000 to spend... ...because of course I have.
  9. Thanks, that's what I thought, I double checked everything and got an adapter to go over the Japanese style pins so that should be fine. Now I've just got to get around to setting everything up, got another Expansion Pak and Power Adapter to go with my RGB modded N64 the other day, so I'm good to go. Just all of the clearing up/tidying which needs to be done before the setting up and testing each console... I might be properly set up by the time I have my next holiday... ...you never know, maybe even before. It'll be worth it though I'm sure.
  10. Yeah, I did consider an OSSC but the Framemeister can still do a heck of a lot, plus it's all contained in one neat little unit. I don't really like the way that the OSSC is kind of "open" with the board/chips etc exposed even when installed in a "case"... perhaps there's a reason for it, it still looks cool but I just figured that surely it would be a dust magnet, even if it can do quite a lot. It also seems to be creeping up in price for one with a case, about £200 it seems, I got my Framemeister for under £300 with about £100 worth of cables. Maybe I've made the wrong choice? I won't know until I start using it I suppose but in the meantime, I don't think it will go down in value at least and it seems to have ample connections. It just seemed easier to get into than the OSSC as well, the place where I got the cables from has had ones which are compatible with the Framemeister for a while now and while they also surely support the OSSC too, I guess I've just gone with what seems to be the more stable and known platform... a bit like going Windows 7 over Windows 10 I suppose... (that might be a rubbish analogy, I don't know) I'm happy with my decision at the moment though. Are you thinking about getting an OSSC then?
  11. "La-la lala la-la la lalala la-la lalala!" "G-I-A-N-T E-G-G!" *Chicken noise*
  12. Tendak do some very good HDMI Splitters... I have one which carries HDMI signals to two different monitors and for one which has lots of ports for displaying many sources on the same display, I would advise picking this one up... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0734SYLJL/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1 I haven't tried it out myself yet properly but it is a solid build quality, powered, comes with a small remote (optional as it has switches) and it just seems to be good all round, if you need more ports you could always run two together as well. I bought a Framemeister recently along with a load of those PackaPunch RGB cables for most of my consoles, so I'm intending on hooking up that splitter, the Framemeister and an RGB scart box at some point soon, so I'll let you all know how I get on. I also ordered an RGB modded N64 recently, so there's that to add into the mix as well, but in theory once it's all running through my AV system and capture device... I should be pretty well set up, I hope. It certainly is daunting though... I might do my own guide as I set it up, I may need to just so that I can figure it all out as I go along.
  13. Oh yeah, I agree that the games do seem to be very well crafted and polished. I'm certainly not outright dismissing them entirely, it's just that with so many games, choices have to be made sometimes so I won't be picking any of them up when they come out, even the ones that I have a fair bit of interest in as I just won't have the time. True enough, Jim is retreading a lot of old ground, I do think he's right on some level though, not all the time though and nothing is absolute. I may well play Far Cry 5 one day, it looks fun but I just can't justify buying it currently.
  14. True enough but still, I've got to post this episode of The Jimquisition here because it definitely strikes a chord with me... It probably explains why I haven't bought any of these games since... probably the last Assassin's Creed game on the Xbox 360. They are all good games, but they just aren't for me... and I'm fine with that. I'm glad to see that they still sell well and that many people still enjoy them though, it's not even that I feel like I'm "too good" for these games, it's purely prioritisation. I might play them when they are on Plus or Games with Gold.
  15. Phew! I hate bikes... 10char! I'll take a deep breath before picking the track this time...
  16. @Hero-of-Time It would have to be Sega Megadrive for me as well, as while I'm partially ruled by nostalgia with it being my first main home console, it was much more than that... Sonic the Hedgehog was unlike anything I'd ever played before, I ended up getting Sonic and Sonic 2 with my original Megadrive one Christmas and it changed my life. I was obsessed with Sonic - still am - and would end up getting every main game in the series when it came out, as they seemed to get better each time with Sonic 3 & Knuckles legitimately blowing my mind at the time with that Lock On Technology... "Y-You mean I can even put Sonic 2 on top of Sonic and Knuckles and play as Knuckles in Sonic 2?!?" different times. The gaming rental market had a significant impact on what I played back then in the Nineties, as of course I couldn't just buy a new game every week or month, so when I would stay with my Grandparents at weekends we would go down to Cats Video (as it was known here in Cornwall) which I can't find any images of but it was definitely there as I remember renting a load of games from there; most of the Disney titles where Castle of Illusion followed by World of Illusion which quickly became favourites... right through to Streets of Rage 3 which I kept renting time after time and never actually owned in physical form until fairly recently. Oh man... simpler times, I could go on about all of the amazing Megadrive titles of that era but I must stop for fear of falling to deep down the nostalgic rabbit hole again. TL:DR - the Sega Megadrive had a profound impact on my life in gaming.
  17. That sucks... by how much for each game did the prices go down? Die Hard Arcade for instance seems to be mirroring eBay prices currently. Looking at it from another angle, it might be a good time to pick up Saturn Bomberman on there.
  18. Comm Error on Royal Raceway. (GP2 Race 2) I was in 2nd too... :/
  19. @Shorty just to let you know that when I signed in just now, the Patreon text changed to... [redacted] (you'll have to pledge to find out) So I guess that means it's all definitely working now.
  20. Burning Rangers is a spectacular game from Sonic Team. It features a story with an interesting narrative centred around futuristic fire-fighting, a set amount of stages with a realistic yet arcade style feel to them and some nice cutscenes. The character designs are cool, controls are both original and excellent considering this is an early 3D game plus there are proceedurally generated elements adding to replay value. Oh and the soundtrack... I would rate it as being one of my favourite games on the system.
