The voice acting [as well as - ironically - lack of it for rolls of text,] in Ni No Kuni turned me off the game within the first hour. Thankfully this seems better. Although I feel like I should give the first game another try. I find it hard to get into turn based RPG's though.

I assume @dazzybee means 'today's equivalents of...' Which would be the likes of Ni No Kuni 2, Persona, Bloodborne, Doom -

I feel like Dragon Quest could find a new home with Nintendo. There's the two remakes on 3DS, and DQXI supposedly coming to Switch. I feel it could do a Monster Hunter. Builders would have been a great fit. -

Maybe it's how you define it. I'd be inclined to agree with you, but then Nintendo just do their own thing these days. The space race, an arms race... the console race ... these are competitions for superiority. Nintendo seemingly aren't bothered about this anymore. Increasingly moving forward I'd say Sony and Microsoft may not be either tbh. -

It doesn't matter how less powerful consoles performed in the past - it's not why they did well. The GameBoy, PS2, DS, Wii and 3DS all had vast support and/or a unique driving factor. The Switch's success will again be determined by the same factors. Not because it's cheaper or less powerful. -
Off screen gameplay. Looks cool.

3 Spider-Man films and 3 MCU films... one of which has been Civil War. No doubt he'll be in both Infinity War films, and then the deal will probably be extended anyway.

Makes you wonder about the Switch, and how it's going to work out and about.

An app that's constantly eating data is a slight concern. I'm still rocking an iPhone 4S as well, but I am looking to upgrade in the Christmas sales. It's a shame all-you-can-eat data is so rare/pricey atm. I currently have it on my 4S and it's just nice peace of mind - I have no idea how much data I would need on a plan.

Ah crap. Still on board. -
The first level of Unravel is absolutely magical. Pure joy. I didn't enjoy the second level as much, nor my first minute or two in the third, before turning it off until next time. Either I'm crap at working some of these yarn puzzles out, or they're just confusing/frustrating - possibly both. The box to catch all the crabs has me stumped... That is if it even is a puzzle to catch them. Sometimes I feel like I'm exploring/doing a puzzle only to find out it's the way I should be going/not what it's made out to be. I got 5/5 collectables in the first level. Second level 2/5 without a clue as to where the others are. Can't express the joy I felt in that first level though. Now it's just beginning to feel a bit like a mildly frustrating platformer. I think I might need to slow my pace down in the levels.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Retro_Link replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
At the moment I can't see me not, but I'm waiting for a bit more info. Gamecube games is a huge draw - providing they're diverse. Pokémon is a draw. What Mario Switch is will be a big factor. And really along with that, I'm going to wait to see concept footage of what they're doing with their franchises on the Switch. But I'm loving what I'm seeing/hearing so far. Stark contrast to the Wii U. -

It has a pug companion. Sold. Also, those backpack wings... [or maybe he's really The Flash] -

It's more likely because it's the only Switch game they have properly announced. -

Great that Nintendo brought the Switch along. The land textures bother me... how they're kind of just patches of colour. Compromised. -

Still not convinced on what Mario is from those 5 seconds of footage. Hope to be proved wrong. I genuinely think everyone's ecstatic about Gamecube games... but it's a case of finally. They're Nintendo's equivalent of PS2 games... they should have been made available long before now. Heck IMO the Switch should have Wii games in its Virtual library. -

Oh yeah, great shout on Double Dash and TYD. I actually bought a copy of TYD on ebay a while back because I want to play through it. Toadstool Tour I'd also be keen to play. Burnout 2, Blue Storm, Advance Wars... what a console. -

Hope we get obscure Gamecube games like Chibi Robo, Billy Hatcher, PN03, Monkey Ball 2, Viewtiful Joe etc... Sunshine, Mansion and Melee are all good, but I personally don't feel the need to replay them. I'd love to play through 1080 Avalance again. -

I really like the visual style of the remake, they've brought it up to date well. However, the game/gameplay itself just looks so horrendously outdated. I couldn't see myself having any fun playing it.
