Cheers! Is it dubbed on Netflix then or something? I'll change it to the native language and subtitle it. I can't imagine watching a show like Les Revenants with English voices, for example.
-
What's the native language of the show? Is it a German series? I'll add it to the list. We're currently making our way through Peaky Blinders and then maybe we'll start watching Black Mirror or this.
-
Hopefully they'll be able to explain all of the ins-and-outs of this sort of stuff. Buying a house is much more difficult than buying, say, a laptop. I wish it was easier! Good luck with the meeting!

I've only just seen the handball incident. The issue itself is that there is no 'standardised rule' for handball. One referee would have given that, two or so others wouldn't have, and another one wouldn't have seen it. The law needs to be more concrete. Even if VAR was used for this, it doesn't necessarily mean that the penalty would not have been given, since the law is so murky that a referee could argue that the arm is 'moving towards the ball'. Similarly, we had a penalty NOT given to us against Southampton when Yoshida ran into the ball with his arms in a raised position. Where is the consistency? We drew the game 0-0 and the handball was in the first half, so it would have had repercussions on the rest of the match. To me, this one is a handball. Lingard would still have been in control of the ball had it not been for the arm. Until we get some sort of clarity with the law, these sorts of incidents will keep on occurring, with or without VAR. VAR won't solve the problem, but it can be a part of the solution. The first step is redefining the law. "Deliberate handball" is such a pointless and useless term. That makes it sound like unless a player physically picks up the ball or punches it away volleyball style, then it's not handball.

We're all rooting for you!

Hope you and @Kav have an excellent time! Goood maaaaaan. I think @Eenuh has been speaking to you about shared ownership stuff. I'm not a fan of it. It seems and feels quite complicated and, imo, finances need to be kept simple to be kept on top of.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

@drahkon, get the fuck in heeeeeeeere! -
Really, reeeeally poor performance again from United. Didn't look like scoring. Crossing clearly didn't work today, so why did we persist with this throughout the match? There was no control in midfield at all. Pogba's passing was pretty good (and I'm sure it'll look fantastic in one of those YouTube compilations) but I don't exactly know why Mourinho has him playing so defensively. He hardly ever makes it into the opposition box or goal scoring areas. There's no drive from midfield. Mkhitaryan was awful today...again. This was just like watching a Moyes or Van Gaal type of performance. Part of the reason why City are so successful at retaining the ball is that they win it back quickly after losing it. I remember reading tons of stuff about this during Guardiola's Barcelona days. They are basically told/taught to win the ball back within 5 seconds of losing it and they win it higher up the pitch as a result. This allows the opposition to become penned in and the defenders can then push up, enabling the midfield to also push up and become part of the attack. We display NONE of these qualities. When we lose the ball, there's no urgency to win it back. It kills me to see professional footballers walking across the pitch and half-heartedly sticking a foot out and calling it a tackle. It's poor. Where's the desire to win and to also win well? You'd have thought we were 5-0 up and winning the league by 20 points with the way we played today. It looked like a pre-season friendly. The last four games, we've lost against Bristol City, and drawn against Leicester, Burnley and Southampton. It's a poor end of the year.

I want to go to Tokyo. N-E meet? You could ask the person to meet at your place or in a café or your place or something. Our person came over and had tea and biscuits with us. I wouldn't have been able to go into a branch either due to work. It was quite useful, even just as a starting point and to talk about all of the available options. @Eenuh is probably the better out of the two of us in terms of finances and stuff.
-
Have you met up with a financial/mortgage advisor? I was completely clueless about how to even begin until one of our friends recommended a guy to us. It allowed us to work out a plan and what to do next, where to look, where was affordable, etc. Worth doing?

Why don't you sell your second organs to help you get the funds for a house. You know, left kidney, left lung, left penis, etc.

Ooooh, so this looks like it'll be worth getting then. I only wish it was more than 3 episodes. That's going to be over so quickly! -

Did anyone get around to playing this? How is it? I've noticed that you can get it for about a tenner on PSN and the third episode has been released. -
Sanchez played really well tonight. Gosh, anyone would think that there's a transfer window coming up!
-
I might be able to sneak it in before school starts again. I still have South Park to start and also Resident Evil VII...plus games like Doom and Wolfenstein.

It's that time of the year where we look at last year's resolutions and see how we did. Also, what are your hopes and plans for 2018? Has it been a good year? A successful one? I'll go first. Last Year's Resolutions Result Resolution for 2018 To save up and organise a wedding... We are saving up...but it hasn't been for a wedding! We've had a few things go wrong with the house, with the more recent one being an issue with our kitchen ceiling. I think that this is going to have to be a major priority for 2018, to save for a Wedding. I think it's the next thing to work towards and we just need to get a firm idea in our head with what we want, how we want to do it and how we're going to do it with getting @Eenuh's family over to the UK, and other logistics. It's a plan. To save up and actually, finally organise a wedding. Improve the house! The house is barely recognisable from the one that we bought. We redid the bathroom straight away and it's a billion times better than what was there before. We knocked some plasterboard down, redid all of the flooring, redid the walls, replaced almost all of the plug sockets and light switches. The electricity has been redone and we've now also got an induction hob in the kitchen. Basically, it's getting closer to how we envisaged it to be. The next steps are to sort out the garden and maybe begin to plan for extensions to the front and back of the house. Make even more improvements to the house! Begin to think about extensions... Make my music room an actual music room! Figure out what to do with garden Get a powercage/rack and transform the garage into a home gym. This was actually done quite easily and quickly. We replaced the up-and-over garage door/shutter with a beautiful pair of French doors/windows. We bought some rubber flooring/gym mats that we cut to size. That took an effort doing, as it was almost 3cm thick! I bought a power cage, which I'm absolutely in love with. The ceiling was plastered and we redid the lights in there, added an extra plug socket and also mounted the tv to the wall. We had the whole thing done in roughly a week. I'm really pleased with the result and it's great having all that space to be able to go in there and exercise. So, great success here! To look ab-solutely fabulous. Most of the year has been spent doing house stuff and work has been getting busy (for reasons that'll be detailed later). So, unfortunately, this hasn't happened. I have to be better with food next year! To actually become harder, better, faster, stronger Keep improving the football team and conquer the world We had a semi-successful, semi-disappointing season. First of all, we got to a cup final and were on course to win a trophy. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal roughly 30 seconds from the full time whistle and the dream was over. So, amazing to get to a final, but heart-breaking to finish as a runner up when we should have finished as winners. We played an away fixture against another team and thrashed them 8-0, so that was great. So, I guess the plan is to keep going with this and we are getting closer...but, still, I think this was the one and it didn't quite happen. To get to another final and win more games A holiday! Much needed! Holiday to Italy booked for March 2018! We went to Spain in the summer and are in Belgium at the moment to see @Eenuh's family. But, it'll be my first time to Italy! Really looking forward to it! As a kid, I had an obsession with Italian football and always wanted to go and see the most famous stadiums there. Hopefully I can do that now. To enjoy Italy and begin to look at other holiday destinations To improve my languages, especially Flemish/Dutch. I think this has been a huge success. I have made tons of progress using Duolingo and Memrise and am much better when constructing sentences and also when understanding conversations. At the same time, I also worked very hard with improving my Spanish when we went to Spain, so that was successful, too. Not only that, but I've also started looking at Italian and Japanese, too. Both are fun, for different reasons. Hopefully I can get my Italian to a decent-ish standard before we go. Japanese will always just be for fun and will probably be the language that I'll be least likely to use out of the lot. On a side note, I've always been fascinated by Russian ever since I was a kid. I know that I'll get around to it one day, so maybe that I'll have a little go at it at some point in 2018. To become fluent in Flemish/Dutch. This is really doable. To improve my Spanish! Maybe start to read more books and watch tv shows in Spanish. To get better with Japanese. To get better with Italian. Bonus resolution...to start thinking about Russian. Become a music God! Get a drum kit! Right, @Eenuh has been putting my money into a saving's account and I now have enough money to buy an electric drum kit. So...it is going to happen in 2018! I'm really excited. I've been talking about it for years, but it's finally going to happen. This'll be the first time since about 2005 that I will have had constant access to my own drum kit. Really looking forward to it. The downside is that it's going to cost a loooot of money as I'm planning to go top of the line with this. I've got my eye on three possible kits, so it'll just be a case of somehow testing these and choosing one. Yaaay! To choose an electric drum kit! To sort out the music room! To play the guitars a lot more. To improve with the keyboard New resolution: To gain recognition for all of my efforts at work. There has been a lot of change at work! This time last year, I was seriously thinking about leaving my school and went to two other job interviews. I was successful with both and was offered both jobs. I turned both down and said to my Headteacher that I'd wait a bit longer to see what comes up at our school, as I wanted more responsibility. A few months later, I was then awarded a HUGE role as Head of Junior School. I'm now in charge of the Junior School, which makes up roughly half of our entire school. So, a lot has happened for me in a year. I am now at the stage where I have to conduct staff meetings, introduce events to parents, send out letters more frequently and lots of other things. It's a LOT more work, and there is a lot of shit to go with it, but I think I'm doing well at this job and have made a good start. Hopefully it'll keep going! To finish my first year as Head of Junior School positively To make bigger and better changes To be a success and gain more recognition at what I do Overall, it's been a very, very successful year in lots of ways. Lots of big changes. It's been busy, but I think it's been worth it. Hopefully 2018 will be a great year for us! Over to you!

I've got it added into my basket in the store, but I'm spending toooons of money at the moment and feel a bit guilty about getting this. Will probably just get it anyway. I was interested in this already without really knowing what it is. I'm sure I'll like it.

Fierce_LiNk replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
I've been listening to this pretty regularly and it's just so, so good. It's got a good flow to it and it sounds different and fresh, yet still sounds like A Perfect Circle. New album has been discussed by band members to be out for certain in 2018. (also, members of Tool are saying that their album will also be done and out next year, too...looks like they actually mean it this time!) -
That's a crazy transfer fee. Let's just imagine that Liverpool keep hold of Coutinho, along with Keita joining in 2018, that's a great looking squad. Still not enough defensively and the goalkeeping issue is a question mark, but that's a big step in the right direction. Maybe the Van Dijk fee is because of the lack of quality centre-backs out there, presently.

We bought this just before Christmas and I'm looking forward to giving it a go when I return to the UK. @Eenuh has yet to play any of the Uncharted games. So, she has this to look forward to.

We can't defend for shit, at the moment. Which is the one thing that Jose is supposedly good at. We turn to shit whenever another team gets a set piece. Should be the easiest thing to deal with since you have time to set up your defence and can positon your players exactly where you want them. Coming back from 2 goals down is a good thing, and 2 more goals for Lingard is great. He's having a great season. But, I think any fan would would be critical of their side if they went 2-0 down at home. We must be tighter defensively and we must be more proactive in games. The focus should be us winning games from the start and not playing tentatively or waiting for the opposition to strike first.

It's not. It's a feature that has been there for a long time (you can easily find threads through a google search dating back to 2015 related to this), although many gamers just have this turned off.

This is nothing new and can be turned off very easily. https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/7m726b/ps4_screenshot_heres_a_new_evil_way_of/ "turn off ads (featured content) in the ps4 settings and you won't get stuff randomly added to your dashboard in the future [Settings] > [System] > [Automatic Downloads]"

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (December 2017)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dog-amoto's topic in General Chit Chat
I've just come back from seeing this a second time. Carrying on our Christmas tradition of watching a film on Christmas Day in Belgium. Usually, I like to just enjoy the film after seeing it once and then I'll watch it again later to form a better opinion of it. We saw this about a week or so ago and I came out of the cinema with very mixed feelings, with a sprinkling of feeling underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. After coming out of the cinema a second time, I...feel decidedly similar to how I did the first time around. First of all...Finn: Secondly, Poe: Things that I liked: The dislikes: Overall, I don't feel that it's here nor there. Some good parts, some bad points, a few moments that are underdeveloped and a few parts that could potentially lead on to good things, but perhaps won't do if this film is anything to go by. I've seen it twice and I am in no definite hurry to see it again. There's a large part of me that wonders if they've gone in with the mentality of "setting the pieces for the final, big part of the trilogy, the big showdown"...but I really don't feel that it's developed enough to be that type of film. To me, this is almost part 2 of 4, not 2 of 3. It's just not compelling enough, or there are not enough compelling characters for it to be considered the second act of three. At least, in my opinion. -
Merry Christmas, everyone! Oh no, hope everything is ok!
