I know that Ramos is a great footballer, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he went out there to hurt Salah. Such a dirty player.
-
Gutted for Salah. He deserved to play the entire final and that's a sad way for him to finish the game.
-
This has got Ramos 90th minute header winner written all over it.
-
So many sloppy Real passes. Can't really get out of their half.
-
Think the Madrid game plan is to play the first half on the counter or to soak up the Liverpool pressure. Think Liverpool need to get a goal before half time, because I imagine Real will start the second much better than the first.
-
The Barcelona and Madrid comparison is even more extreme considering that many club players actually struggled getting along due to their club allegiances. There was a divide in the international dressing room due to players representing Barcelona or Real Madrid. But that's a more extreme version of what we're talking about, I guess. There's no way many Barcelona fans will be supporting Madrid tonight, especially with the recent calls for Catalan independence

We will just have to disagree. Living in Bournemouth at the moment and there's just no way the people here would stomach supporting Southampton in a final. It just wouldn't happen. I don't think it's necessarily deliberately not supporting an English team, but the fact it's a close rival. I guess it's just how you're brought up and how you've lived. We were in a very much pro-United household, with Mum coming from the area, Dad moving from abroad to that area in his late teens and them forming a family there. (Mum was always a bit homesick and there was always talk about moving back up there) We were always a fairly competitive household and a win would always be even more sweeter if it was over someone like Liverpool or City. Part of the fun is being able to have laughter with "the other side" and that rivalry, and that's what makes the match-ups even more tasty for me. I grew up around United and Liverpool fans and it was always fun being able to have that competitiveness and rivalry. It just adds another layer to the game. Without that fan interaction and that layer, it's just a bunch of millionaires kicking a ball on a field. I don't go as far as some fans and actively "hate" other teams, because that's where hooliganism and such tend to stem from. But, I won't actively go out and support "the other side". Saying that, I'm not actively supporting Real Madrid either because they are a nasty club and I don't like the way that they do their dealings. If there was a way for both teams to lose, I'd take that option! So yes, we'll have to disagree. Good luck for tonight, and I hope that it is a good game.

Ignore your feelings and just play Horizon and The Witcher 3.

I've heard that argument so many times over the last few weeks and I don't really understand it. A better question would be, "do you want to see a rival club win the most prestigious European competition?" and the answer for that would be...no, not really. It's not a country vs. country competition, it's club vs. club. Liverpool are representing the club and area of their city; they are not representing the country as that's not the way the competition works. Would any sane United fan want to see City win the Champions League as they're an English club, or vice versa? You will struggle very hard to find them. Liverpool fans already use the "we won it 5 times" line to gloat over the rival fans, so why would the rivals want to hear any more of that? In the World Cup, if a Liverpool player scores the goal which brings the cup back to England, then I will cheer for them as they're wearing an England shirt and are representing England. Therein lies the difference. This is a club competition, not a country competition. It would be good for the city of Liverpool if they do win the competition, as the football that they have played this season has been first class, even if they have been extraordinarily lucky with the decisions that have gone their way in Europe. But, I think Real Madrid will use their knowledge and experience of playing in recent finals to get through. They'll find a way to nullify the Salah threat and I think they'll go about the game in a professional way to win.

How does it rank compared to Heavy Rain and Beyond? I loved the noir feel of Heavy Rain.
-
God, it's going to be unbearable if Liverpool win. I think it'll be settled in normal time and can see Real Madrid putting in a professional performance to win the game 2-0.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
Fierce_LiNk replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
I've had this Smashing Pumpkins song "United States" in my head for days. It's from one of the lesser known albums "Zeitgeist" and, I have to admit, it's a song that I don't know very well. But, fucking hell, the drums are just brilliant. The rest of the song is ace, too! and a brilliant live version which, imo, is better than the studio version. -
There are very few saints in football.

Let's not be daft now. That Inter Milan squad would have laid out flat on the train tracks if he had told them to. He had Samuel Eto'o playing right back in a Champions League final. He used to be a very, very good motivator and his teams would carry out his plans to perfection. Hence the Champions League victories or the titles with Chelsea and Real Madrid. However, with this current squad, he isn't able (for whatever reason) to do that. This team need discipline, motivation and someone who can get them playing quicker football. It's too slow and predictable.
-
The players aren't playing for Mourinho or aren't motivated by him. Less than 10 minutes left of an FA Cup Final and the crosses (bar the odd one or two, like the one that led to the Pogba chance) are still just as bad and too many players are still plodding around the field or doing triangles in pointless areas. The gameplan, whatever it was, has completely failed today. Nobody is busting a gut out there to make a difference and nobody is trying to lift the team.
-
For a team that is so reliant on getting the ball to the wing and crossing, we are remarkably shit at crossing. We've been noticeably terrible at that this season. I don't really get it. Surely that's one thing that a winger or left/right back would work on a lot in training. Same as when corners don't make it past the first man, which is insane to me as the ball is at a complete dead stop.

I think the "Phil Jones experiment" has failed. He simply hasn't turned into the player that we all thought he would be and has barely progressed at all in the last few seasons. His time is up, in my opinion. He should be at his peak, yet I still feel that we're waiting for his potential to show. Defensively, he's not very good at reading the game.
-
It is absolutely horrific. No deeming features whatsoever.

Do you think it's time for a new manager? Has he stayed on too long or is this the right time? I'm not sure what to make of our season. On paper, it sounds fantastic. Second behind a great Man City team and FA Cup Final. But, the reality is that the football hasn't been amazing to watch this season. It's been a tricky one for United fans to evaluate. Finishing second (highest finish post-Ferguson) is a huge achievement and we're now back to competing for trophies (bar the Champions League), so I would class it as a successful season results wise. Guess it's all about how Mourinho builds from this. The quality of football has to get better.

Only just caught up with that. A bit of a nobbish thing to do, yeah. I didn't like his song last year anyway. So...I guess pity points aren't a thing. Dammit, Europe.
-
Congratulations to Palestine on their victory.
-
Right, here we go. The viewer votes. Bring on the pity points!
-
Didn't they just give the 12 points to Cyprus after all that?
-
Why is there a mid-vote break?! Also, bring back the old voting system!
