  1. What the fuck, Argentina? They have played absolutely shit against Croatia. Such a terrible performance in so many ways. Can't believe it.
  2. Didn't see that result coming either. It's looking like a tournament where the top teams are getting frustrated. Brazil should be winning games like this. Didn't really seem to be motivated enough to go for the kill. A bit disappointing really!
  3. Uhh, what is happening? Could this end up a draw?!
  4. I would be very surprised if it's anything but a comfortable Brazil win. I still fully expect Germany to get through the group stages. Oh my, imagine the scenes if they didn't!
  5. Did not see that coming at all. It's been a fantastic World Cup, so far. Best competition in the world.
  6. Injury/added-on time now. C'maaaaan, Mexico.
  7. Really enjoying this game! Unlucky for Germany to hit the bar with that free kick. Hope Mexico can get another one!
  8. I'm finding it a bit too "out there" to get excited about it. Will probably wait to see what the p/reviews are like.
  9. @Eenuh is skyping with her mum, so I could only muffle my excitement. Terrific free kick. Quite like the look of Serbia. Wouldn't really like to play against them.
  10. What a freekick from Serbia!
  11. The stories about Ronaldo and his dedication in training are fantastic. It sounds like he learned a lot from Sir Alex and other important players who were at the club in his early years, like Scholes, Keane, Giggs, Neville, etc. There are tons of stories about how he'd be the last off the training pitch or how he'd be in the gym constantly to either improve his fitness or physique. He was shite at times in his early years and couldn't cross, wouldn't pass, would keep the ball for too long or would try and do it all himself. He was an absolute pain in the arse and I wasn't sure if he would ever turn out ok...I could never have dreamt that he would turn out the way he has! He should be regarded as the epitome in sporting term of what hard work, dedication and commitment can lead to if you are willing to learn. Easily one of the best players, if not the best, that I've seen at United in my time. Admittedly, I'm not old enough to fully appreciate the holy trinity of Best, Law and Charlton. But, he's certainly the best in this generation of United/former United players. He's become even better after joining Madrid and his records are insane. He's nearly scored 600 club career goals! An absolute freak of nature.
  12. 2-0 to Croatia now. They've played alright, but the game is a bit of a dud. Should go some way to helping them get through the group stages, though.
  13. No idea about them. I've never heard of them, but I found the quote in a link from this BBC article.
  14. Bah, Peru have France in their next game. Guess they'll be going out at the group stages. I've said it once, but I'll say it again. Come on, Iran!
  15. That backheel would have been amazing had it gone in.
  16. Yeah, getting really hacked off watching them. Should have scored about...a million, by now.
  17. I wouldn't mind that, Iran are my only sweepstake pick who look like they're going to be of any use, at the moment.
  18. Fuck sake, Peru! That was a terrible penalty!
  19. This is what Correio da Manha (Portugese news outlet) wrote about Ronaldo : Bluddy hell, calm down.
  20. TEAM RONALDO!
  21. Ahh, I'm torn. I've got Argentina, Iran and Peru in my sweepstake at work. Argentina and Iceland are playing together. My heart says Iceland, but Argentina are my best chance in the sweepstake. Hmmm. COME ON, IRAN!
  22. I was soooo tired yesterday and am annoyed with myself that I couldn't fully appreciate the Portugal/Spain game. It was an amazing match, great intent from both sides and it had virtually everything to make it a classic. Plus, Ronaldo. The France/Australia match right now was also fantastic. Happy with how VAR was used. It was quick, the correct decision was made and it seemed obvious to everyone what was going on. This is VAR done right. I'll happily accept this. Not sure what Umtiti was doing for the handball that led to Australia's penalty. Really stupid moment from him. I thought a draw would be a fair result, but Australia clearly tired towards the end, especially in the last 10 minutes. It's a shame for them that they couldn't get a point from them, and I struggle to see how they're going to score goals in their next two games. I liked how they played the ball out from the back and they kept control of it in midfield, but there's not enough urgency about getting players into the box or pumping the ball in there. France should have done a lot better, but I expect they'll improve as the tournament goes on. Should be potential finalists, although not on this performance.
  23. Happy 21st Birthday, dude.

  24. Could not give one single fuck if it's first person or third person. I've played enough games in both viewpoints and I think most gamers these days have experienced both, too. Plus, more importantly...if there is one single developer that should be given a free pass and full support over making the game that they want to make, it's CD Projekt Red. If they think first person is the way forward, then I'll back them 100%. I don't even consider it a controversial move and I'm surprised that there's such a backlash to it. I remember all the complaining about Metroid Prime being first person (oh my god, all of the "it's a first person ADVENTURE" arguments were hilarious) and I thought that gamers had moved on from that.
