Yay for the Metroid love, people. I'm playing through Super Metroid, at the moment. I can't believe its a SNES game...how is it possible? The level/world design is superb, very intricate. It's amazing to think that this is nearly two decades old.

Macheda going on loan in the league would be great. I'd like for him to go somewhere like Everton, as they need a striker. Would rather he spends time on loan within this league rather than abroad. About Hargreaves: He is a great player, seems like a nice lad and just wants to play football. Unfortunately for him, he has some of the worst knees in the business and has been so unlucky with injuries. Him and Ledley King should both be international regulars, and Hargreaves has shown that he is a great defensive midfielder, who can also perform well on the right wing, or even at right-back as he has done for United. If he goes to City, I wouldn't begrudge him that. He's trying to re-start his career, and if City are giving him an opportunity, then he should take it. However, at the same time, I don't think he'll get many games there, with their current squad. So, the rumoured move to somewhere like West Brom would maybe be more beneficial. I think part of him thinks if he can play at City, he can play in Europe, meaning he can have more of a shout of playing for England again. He's much less likely to get an England call-up playing for West Brom, unfortunately.

Yeah, just seen the Santos rumour a minute ago. Don't think the Gotze one will happen, personally. Chu-Young will end up going. The deals take time to finalise, but you probably will hear something tomorrow. Unless Wenger calls that one off, as he's received a bit of stick for it.

You could be right. It's up on the Sky Sports Website anyway. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7137701,00.html Any more names Arsenal been linked with? There's the Hazard and Cahill rumours, but I've not seen anything else.

Apparently, Arsenal are making bids for Alex and Yossi from Chelsea. Yossi's a good player and should be playing more games. Not sure Chelsea will let Alex go, though.

Fuuuuuuuck. So pretty. Nintendo love.

Oh, man. I've thought about this idea a loooot. Not recently, but just over time. I've planned out what I'd do. I'd hop onto a train and just keep travelling until I found somewhere that I thought looked alright, and stay there. As for the ID, I'd get a phonebook and just choose the first first-name that I see, and then flick through again to a random surname and go with that. It would be down to fate. I like the idea of just starting over again as someone else. It would be an adventure. It would be quite cool to just get a job in a bar or something to keep the money coming in.

He made so many tactical messes today. The strange thing was I think he stayed in his seat the whole team. Not once did I see him get up and give instructions to the defenders, etc. You see Fergie and other managers doing it all the time. I might have missed that, though. Only a couple of years, but they are quality managers who can come in and make a difference. Let's forget how Chelsea treated them for a second and look at it another way: When Mourinho left, life went on, and eventually Hiddink, then Ancelotti came. When they left, you now have Villas-Boas. Life goes on at the club. If Wenger leaves, the club will carry on. He's been there for 15 years, but he's done nigh next to nothing for the past 6. In 15 years, you'd expect him to know about it being a squad game by now. Kenny has been at Liverpool for a short period of time and he has built a squad. He knows the game. The best managers do. So, why isn't Wenger grasping this? He's becoming very one-dimensional and the teams he puts out are virtually identical every time - there's no element of surprise, no plan B. It's stale. It's been like that for seasons now. Teams are no longer afraid to play Arsenal - and he has to take responsibility for that.
-
That's what Chelsea fans said after Ancelotti was sacked. The same thing they said after Mourinho. There are plenty of managers out there who I'm sure would love to come to Arsenal. What about the likes of Hiddink, Advocaat, Rijkaard? They're winners and would probably do wonders at the club, especially Rijkaard. Like I said, Arsenal are a big club. It's just about finding the right person. If Arsenal do finish out of the Champions League Qualification spots, then do you think the board should stick with Wenger? Clearly he doesn't as he took off one of their better midfielders today (Coquelin) and replaced him with Chamberlain, who did nothing. This has been coming for some time. You don't add to the squad, you'll end up getting punished. Hence why City just keep stock-piling players. Its a squad game.

I think today has really shown Arsene that something needs to change quickly. He needs to make significant additions to the squad before the window closes. I'm actually starting to think maybe his time is coming to an end at the club. I don't think the players that he is playing are motivated by him or playing for him anymore.

Hmm, I think you'll either love this game or just won't take to it. There's a lot of depth to it, maybe too much for some. It's all gameplay driven and team-work based, but that's great. I haven't played too many like this, so really enjoying it. If you don't like it now, I don't think that'll change much, really. It'll just get deeper and more complex. Not for everyone.

We were good at home but awful away. Terrible, even. Saying that, there was still breathing space at the end, despite having an awful away record. On the whole, there's not many teams that played well throughout the whole of last season.

Halo is the only one that really springs to mind. But then, it was very repetitive and a chore. Hmm, Monster Hunter is what it is. Are you a fan of that genre/type of game? It sounds like you were over-whelmed by it.

I went for 2-1, as I was expecting a much closer game with a narrow victory. Annoyingly, I went with Liverpool to win 2-1 (they won 3-1) and Chelsea to win 3-0 (3-1). Also, Aston Villa and Sunderland keep letting me down. They can't score for shit. Darren Bent is in my Fantasy Team. Thinking of chucking him, tbh.

What is it about the game you don't like? The only thing I think it's possibly missing is a lock on system. Either that, or shorter loading times between areas, but I don't think that can be helped. Aside from that, I don't really see what's wrong with the game. It's too addictive, if anything.

I feel sorry for the fans, mostly. However, I feel it's really cruel on most of the players that played today, including the likes of Ramsey, because they're being sent out there to the slaughter. This is a United team that finished top of the league last year and made the Champions League Final. Actually no...this is an improved United team on that. What the hell was Wenger thinking? Why did he play such a high line and why weren't the players closing down quickly enough? It happened right from the first minute. Also, the scary thing is that although United scored 5 goals in that second half, I don't think our play was anywhere near as great as in the first. Cleverley and Anderson were running the game. I can't remember the last time United played 4-4-2 and totally dominated a game.
-
Was not expecting that at all...8-2?! Fuckkk. I thought we'd win with a 2 goal margin, but that was incredible. Not going to gloat because Arsenal are going through a horrible time at the moment. But here's something to think about... Ashley Young - 2 amazing goals and 3 assists David De Gea - a vital penalty save with the game at 1-0 and about 4 or 5 top class saves before and after Phil Jones - Incredible performance at centre-back. That's what you get when you re-invest in the squad, Arsene. Also, the average age of that United team that started today was 23. Tom Cleverley was outstanding again, as was Ashley Young. I thought Ramsey (and probably Van Persie) looked like the only Arsenal players interested today. I'm starting to think Arsene will go.

Tottenham are being destroyed by City. There's no other word for it. Total destruction. 4-0. Away. Dzeko with a hat-trick. Fucking hell.

I've got bad news... The last few days have been so Mr. Mime. In other words, laaaame. I've had a lot of planning to do for school, but I've written the whole lot now. After barely moving from the same spot for days. So glad it's done. Now...I'mma celebrate. I'm going to go play Super Metroid!

I didn't think Chelsea looked that great tonight...again. 3-1 flattered them. Torres looked awful again, and the worse thing is that he's starting to affect Drogba's game because of their limp partnership...and the fact that Didier gets left on the bench half the time in favour of Torres. Liverpool looked pretty good. That new midfield is functioning really well. It's a good line-up. Not really sure on that formation, though. I think have Gerrard pushed a bit further forward, behind Suarez, and then that midfield as a 4. I guess its the same really as yours (just pushing Gerrard up a bit), but also I'd push Adam a bit further forward as he seems quite deep there.

Iuuuun/Yuuuun. You did the right thing. She should have known better for two reasons. Firstly, because she could've hurt herself or others. Secondly, because of the awkward position it puts you in, including because of the past. Maybe throwing shit around isn't the right way to react, but it was an entirely avoidable thing if she took your advice. What if something did happen and she hurt herself? So, although you regret getting angry, maybe it'll help her see why you did.

Ahh, gotcha. 6 million is a piss-take. For a player of his quality, I would have expected a higher early bid from Arsenal. I hope he doesn't go, purely because I think it would spell bad news for Bolton defensively. He's their rock.
-
Does that mean you don't want Cahill, or you think you should have bid more money? I think it would be a great buy for Arsenal. But, I don't think he'll go. Not for 6 million anyway...probably triple that. Joey Barton has gone to QPR. I imagine they'll stay up now. He has grit. Newcastle are foolish to let him leave.

On paper, Bayern have a great team. Neuer is a quality goal-keeper, Philipp Lahm probably could have his choice of any club, as could Bastian Schweinsteiger. Robben and Ribery are the attacking/playmaker type of players, pretty much providing all of the danger. Then, in Thomas Muller and Mario Gomez you have two relatively young but experienced strikers/forwards who offer a great threat. However, as great as that team is, they seem to be missing something. Could be another central midfielder or a central defender. No denying they have quality and can hurt a team on their day. But, I can see them being beaten. They're beatable and not as tight/compact as other teams can be.
