  1. Have to laugh at all this talk about the "pro" pad. It got about two seconds of screen time, which shows how much Nintendo cared about it. I'll be absolutely gutted if developers start using this for shooters and the like. Hope this doesn't mean the end for Wiimote support. Anyway, glad that they showed this stuff off here rather than the conference. It gives them the chance to get their philosophy stuff out there without infringing on the short-time needed for the games and other important things. Bit worried that there won't be a great deal of time (if any) dedicated to showing the 3DS stuff. Will see. The Miiverse stuff shown was quite interesting. Something they should've done right from the start with the Wii. But, it'll be great to see where they go from here.
  2. I DESERVED THIS THREAD THIS MORNING You really did, our sexy, smooth-talking, disco-dancing beast of a man. Happy Birthday! - and turn this frown upside down!
  3. I saw it last night and loved it. It worked on so many levels. It works as a standalone, it works as an entry into a new series (aimed at just the engineers) or it works as a very loose prequel to Alien (which I don't really view it as).
  4. I've been ok for the majority of the day. But, about two hours or so ago, I had some bananas and a protein shake, and immediately didn't feel right. Been sick and feeling a bit off since then. Fix me, Knee.
  5. You will have to wait a while before we can go and buy everything in Forbidden Planet, again.
  6. Haha. :P Yeah, it doesn't really work out this year unfortunately. I'll probably take the time to go back to Wales at some point to see the family, as I've only seen them for a day since Christmas. Last year's meet was great fun, loved it. I'll be checking the pictures and looking at this thread to see what's going on. I hope the weather turns out good, because it did interrupt things a tiny bit last year. Might be time to get firm plans in place? The meet is growing and I'm not sure if it can be blagged anymore. Also, @Cube, Cardiff meet sounds awesome. I'd be so up for that.
  7. We agreed to watch it together. Plus, there's a lot to talk about, so I wouldn't be able to keep it all in if I watched it before she did. E3 is too damn exciting. There's ways of being spoiler free. I'm just wondering how long after the conference it will be before you can view the video of the whole thing. It's usually within two hours afterwards, isn't it? There was the time where Twilight Princess was revealed and I missed the conference itself, before @ViPeR gave me a link on MSN telling me to watch the WHOLE THING NAAAW. Think I was late getting home from school at the time or something.
  8. Bad news. Ine doesn't finish work til 6, meaning we'll miss the conference. How soon will a video of the conference be placed online for people to watch in its entirety? I've got the whole evening planned. E3, Chinese Food and Alcohol. Cannot fucking wait.
  9. Not everyone will agree on this, no doubt. But, where is the honour in being a benchwarmer? You wouldn't accept it at club level, so why would you at International level? Also, "a few managers" is really not telling the whole picture, is it? It's not like the domestic game where you could have the revolving door process (like at Chelsea) and in theory have a new manager after every season. These managers tend to be in charge of a tournament or two. So, two managers could be anywhere from 4 to 8 years, or even beyond. That's the bulk of your international career. I'm going to argue that there isn't enough competition for places anyway, so being a bit part player is useless. We have been sticking with Gerrard and Lampard for so long and that has pretty much made up the central midfield area. It's closed the door for others. There was a time when Hargreaves got in, but due to injuries he's been out of it. Not his fault. I'm convinced he wouldn't have been chosen anyway, had he been available for selection. If Roy is choosing players based on how well they are playing domestically, then Glen Johnson and Downing would not have got in, let alone be first choice. Joe Cole is far more deserving of a place due to his season than Downing. He's the forgotten man.
  10. Right, I had no idea that "tipping" was this extreme in America. What a joke. What shocks me is that these members of staff are getting paid below minimum wage. So, these American customers feel that they have to tip in order to make up the difference. What is really shocking is that rather than anybody changing this culture and forcing these Restaurant owners to pay their staff more, people are just "buying into" and accepting this tipping culture instead. In fact, it seems to have become perfectly normal. It's stupid. I know that every country can have their own traditions and so forth, but this is completely wrong. If I go out with a friend for a meal, no matter where it is, I should be able to sit down, enjoy the meal, pay the price and leave. Being chased out of an establishment for not tipping/tipping well is horrible.
  11. Lost 3-1. Sucks to be me. But, we will come back stronger. Dragooooo do not know the meaning of the word DIE. DRAGOOOOO.
  12. Congrats Bluey and Jamba! Very happy about this when I found out. JamBaluey.
  13. I've got tickets to see this tomorrow. Can't wait.
  14. Going to disagree with the first part of your post. Where's the honour in getting overlooked by consecutive managers? If Carrick was to play any part in Roy's plans, he'd have known about it by now. Getting selected is nice, but seeing the team suffer disappointment after disappointment and still not get a chance to try and influence the game must be demoralising. I blame the managers in that instance. He's had a whole season at Liverpool. As has Downing. What about giving somebody like Leon Osman a try? Very under-rated and is brilliant for Everton. Would rather see him playing than Henderson. Or Downing for that matter. There's also the likes of Jack Rodwell. He's young and would offer something different.
  15. There's a lot of people online playing the "neighbouring" vote card. Yes, countries do give points to others nearby, to a certain extent. But, Sweden won by a landslide. Infact, the majority of the songs which finished in the top 10 had great energy, were well written and were sang/performed greatly. The UK entry was just so flat. You compare the UK's entry, which is a tired old singer singing a song with no high point, to Sweden's entry. A young female singer with energy, catchy chorus and a great dance tune. It's even better considering that the majority of the song features her on stage in near-darkness all by herself. That's presence. We simply haven't shown that we have anybody who can do that. The songs that we keep putting out are poor and deserve to finish last. It is sad and a bit degrading to keep finishing towards the end of the pile. But, unless we put out something of good quality, we deserve it. Even Ireland's entry (which sucked) still had more energy and catchy-ness than ours.
  16. Yes. 10 cars.
  17. D'oh, we forgot to mention Denmark on that list. It was a good entry, the sort of song you'd love to hear on the radio. But yes, a bit out of place. Sweden's song was definitely on a different level when compared to the rest. I've had it stuck in my head all day. Plus, the dancing is very Kate Bush-esque. As for song quality, I thought this year's was brilliant. Excellent singers, only let down in part by song choice. The UK really need to pull their arse out and make a quality song like Euphoria for this competition.
  18. Got bum-raped in my game today. Expected a hiding after he lost the other day. In hindsight, I shouldn't have accepted this challenge.
  19. Not even surprised by that. I struggle to think of better strikers than him in the world. He is moody and he play-acts, but he turns up for the big games and puts a shift in. Chelsea have made a mistake by not giving him some sort of extension to his contract. Now they're losing him for absolutely nothing...which is just stupid.
  20. He has had problems this year. The whole team has. The changes of manager don't help and his contract issues haven't helped either. He has only started 16 games this season, so Torres being there hasn't helped either. Drogba was lethal in 2009/10. He has been vital to Chelsea and even when he doesn't score that many goals, he assists. 13 assists in the season before the one that just finished. Even without these stats, he still creates chances and always looks likely to score. The fact that Chelsea have been consistently finishing high in the league is partly down to him.
  21. I am totally with you on this one. It's a complete waste of time and talent. There is only one game that I think justifies a remake and that is Metroid II. Everything else is such a low priority. We need new IPs, new games. I was looking at videos of Odama the other day and kicking myself that I never played it. If that type of game were released on the Wii brand new tomorrow, I would eat it up. We need "the next Pikmin."
  22. Can't really agree with this at all. Drogba is an absolute handful. He may not be at his peak and may be a tad bit slower, but he is still better than Suarez. Drogba at his peak shits on Suarez right now. As for Drogba versus Henry: That's tough. Henry is better technically, but Drogba is more of a physical presence. He bullies players off the ball and can do so much. Arsenal wouldn't have been the same without Henry, and same for Chelsea and Drogba. Also, Wii is a Liverpool fan. The "You'll Never Walk Alone" line in the Robin Gibb thread gave it away. As did his bitterness.
  23. Not sure where this belongs, but Ine laughed, so I guess it should go here. Funny thread is funnier with pictures and I refused to have my picture taken of this. Ine was in the shower and I decided to help myself...to some yoghurt in the fridge. I don't know exactly what happened, maybe it was partly down to my brute-like strength (lol) or perhaps I just overestimated how much force I needed to exert in order to grip the yoghurt pot. I picked up the pot from its rightful shelf in the fridge and moved it over to the kitchen worktop. Straight away I knew something was wrong. The next part was very much a blur. I placed it on the counter and must have slammed it down too hard by mistake. The yoghurt erupted out of its container and destroyed my face. I could feel bits of it on my cheek, on my nose, chin, everywhere. I went to check myself in the mirror. There was yoghurt all over my hair, too. Ine laughed a lot and called me a gay porn star.
  24. DRAGOOOOO accept your acceptance of my challenge!
  25. Anyone fancy a friendly tomorrow?
