  1. They have reasons for not going out to attack Bayern, which have already been addressed. Their centreback pairing was weak and they had to sacrifice areas in the midfield to overcome this issue. As for the performance against Barca: I'm sure the Chelsea fans don't give a shit about that. Barcelona are the best possession and probably best attacking football side in the world today. Of course they're going to play a defensive game. The game was all about stopping them scoring and hoping to get something from the away leg. Like I said, the end justifies the means. It's great when teams play attacking football, and I'm a believer in it. However, there is more than one way to win a football match. With respect too, how many of these coaches won the Champions League trophy this year? You're also neglecting to mention that this was all done by an interim coach, somebody just taking care of things until the season is over. He is a caretaker. You don't subscribe to that way of playing, which is fine. But, are you honestly saying that you wouldn't swap your Liverpool's Carling Cup trophy for Chelsea's Champions League?
  2. To be honest, it's a long running joke between ViPeR and myself that this game will never get released. It's almost absurd. There are trailers out there which show 10 minutes of footage of the actual game...what can they possibly be doing to finish it off? I guess we'll wait til E3. But still...so pissed right now.
  3. Right, well...whether it's timed exclusive or not (I'm going to say it's not until we know better), February 2013 is a complete fucking joke of a release date. That's almost a year, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed again til after that. There is only so long you can sustain people's interest before they get bored and go after something else. February? Really? Considering this has already been delayed God knows how many times, this just doesn't fill me with positive vibes.
  4. I've not really been a PES fan until the Wii edition of 2011. I had the xbox version of 4 and found it to be pretty dull. I prefer the pace of Fifa and it seems more multiplayer friendly. 2011 has the right kind of pace and they need to keep rolling with that. Fifa is all over the place at the moment. 2010 looked and felt really good to play, and then 2011 just messed that right up. They made it slowed and imo it doesn't look as appealing as it did before.
  5. The pace of the game is pretty wrong. It's actually a bit worrying how both Fifa and PES seem to be making these same mistakes. I don't think Fifa has been good since 2010. I'd love it if we had a third competitor, somebody to give both EA and Konami a kick up the arse.
  6. My ex-housemate has a weighted hula hoop and I found it pretty fun to use when I was living there. I've bought the next weight up from that and have been using it in my living room. It's great fun to use and it kills the first few times, but you get used to it pretty quickly.
  7. I've watched one or two of the films recently as they make brilliant background viewing. Totally brainless. But, I lol at those who take the films seriously as a series.
  8. It's such an obvious thing to do that I'm not sure it'll get done. Would be great to play like that, though. Would make defending a doddle, dragging your players to the right positions to make two lines of four, for example, or even just marking on corners. That's another area where the HD versions of PES fall well short in comparison to the Wii version. They could even keep the traditional crowd happy by offering multiple control schemes. Haven't tried the traditional controls in 2011 yet.
  9. Bitch please, you were probably given those titles during Odwin's sissy girl stage. (see photo above). Also, Dragooooo are young. You are old and reaching the twilight of your career. The Future is Orange. The Future is DRAGOOOOO.
  10. They didn't just defend. Chelsea scored a goal here, scored two goals against Barca at the Nou Camp and beat them at Stamford Bridge. Ok, so of these teams that attack Bayern every week, how many of them finished above Bayern in the league and/or made it to this season's champions league final? The end justifies the means in this case. If Chelsea had all of their suspended players, the game would have been different. Ramires would have certainly made an impact. Nobody is using it as a blueprint. Chelsea finished 6th and have been shit in their domestic league. Cups are totally different and do not tell the whole story. Liverpool and Chelsea have made it to two cup finals. In Cups, they have been great. League form is completely different and is how teams should and will probably be judged. Playing Barcelona away in a Champions League Semi-Final...the majority of the time teams will not go there and playing attacking football. You would have to be really damn good defensively, as well as keeping the ball to even go there and attempt such a thing. It's not going to happen too often because there is too much at stake. If you go there and take your one chance, it's better than creating 20 or 30 chances and not scoring.
  11. Bitches, you all need to be playing Xpert11. This games separates the men (Odwin, Fierce_LiNk (obviously), McCoy) from the sissy girls (Eliteshitester City, Bayern Neverwinning, Yellow Bum-barines). Why would you want to be a sissy girl? Unless you are a sissy girl, in which case you should abandon your ship of fail and climb aboard the Vessel of Victory. This game turns losers into winners. This is what Odwin looked like before he played Xpert11. and this is what he looks like after becoming a seasoned pro (in Xpert11, not prostitution). The difference is clear for all to see. Bitches, you all need to be playing Xpert11.
  12. I just hope that PES isn't anything like it is on the 360/PS3 version, and more in line with the Wii version, at least control wise. I spent an evening playing PES 2012 on the 360 and I am not exaggerating when I say that the controls are a massive step backwards compared to the Wii version. It is so rigid. There is no fluidity and not being able to do some of the basic functions that are in the Wii version, such as selecting players to make runs, selecting players to close down attackers, pinpointing exactly where you want the ball to go...it makes a huge difference. I found myself playing 2012 wanting to control the players around me, and instead all you can do is pass to them and hope that the computer's AI understands where you want the ball to go. There are plenty of times where it doesn't. At least with the Wii version this is the fault of the player. Put simply, if Fifa or PES use dual analogue and are anything like they are already, I'm not touching it. Konami have got a perfect system in place and I will be massively disappointed if they don't improve this system and use it on the WiiU.
  13. Work all year to get fourth? At one point, they were "challenging" for the title. Finishing fourth is a shambles after the start that they made. They blew it in the last few months and have nobody to blame but themselves. Chelsea overturned a 3-1 deficit against Napoli, beat Barcelona over two legs (including being down to 10 men for a large portion of the second leg), and came from behind to beat Bayern in their own stadium in the final. When you look at it that way, how can anybody say that they don't deserve it. Again, if they had gone all out and played expansive football, then the likes of Ribery, Robben, Gomez and Muller would have ripped them apart. Their centrebacks were barely fit and are not first choice. If Bayern truly deserved it, they would have won it in normal time, or they would have buried that penalty in extra time. They didn't, so it came down to the lottery of a shoot out.
  14. Yeah, I guess I'll keep him. Not really sure how this game works sometimes, as my younger strikers seem to score more than the 23 8, so I think the specials do play some part in it. As for goal instincts, I recruited those players at a time when we weren't scoring many goals. So, if my main strikeforce isn't banging them in, the goals have to come from somewhere. It's gone pretty well since then. Now I'm looking for other types of players to add balance, pacey players, etc. Lost my game against Inter, not that bothered, though. Bit worried that my new keeper conceded 6 goals at home, though! Eeep. I only bought him that day, aha. Any one fancy a friendly?
  15. Well done, Chelsea. I'm pleased that an English team won the Champions League. Thought Ashley Cole was immense, and would probably have him down as my man of the match. A great final and extra-time/penalties was full of drama, just what you need in football. Bayern had loads of the ball but Chelsea defended really, really well (again) and just hung in there. I thought it was over when Bayern eventually did score, but trust Drogba to get the equaliser. It is crazy though that the team that finished sixth in the league can win the FA Cup and Champions League. Not really sure what message that sends to other teams out there, but I don't imagine that this sorta thing will happen very often. I bet @Wii is rage quitting right now. 50p says that he is a Bayern Munich fan.
  16. Sorry, going to have to disagree with that. Ferdinand has silenced most of his critics, whereas John Terry has just attracted more criticism, for things that are partly not even footballing related. He also has been found out this season, imo. His positioning hasn't been that great and he has made many bad decisions. (getting sent off in the champions league semi-final, for one) Ruddy has been brilliant, no doubt about it. But, Joe Hart is on a totally different level. There are no other current English goalkeepers who even look like they're on the same level as him. It's a worry, really. Ah, forgot this. Fair enough, he should be getting into the first lot based on his form and quality. As for Downing and Henderson (and Adam for that matter), they should count themselves lucky that they are playing for Liverpool. Downing isn't going to get much better...In his past five seasons, he has made 12 assists in the league. 8 of those were last season at Villa. Valencia has made more than that in one season alone. He is going to be 28 this year and isn't going to get hugely better. He may show a bit of improvement, but he'll start to lose his pace over the next few seasons (isn't exactly lightning anyway). Looking at his stats, he has had two great seasons in the league, one in 2010-11 and one in...2004-05. In between there, he has managed 4 assists. 20 million Liverpool paid for Downing. 24 City paid for Silva. Gulf in class is so far apart.
  17. Regardless of the culture, a marriage is based on trust, honesty and supporting each other. It doesn't sound like she's really fulfilling those needs for you and it sounds like she is taking advantage. Having a house is great, especially if its a nice house. But, there's no point trying to live beyond your means. You could end up losing a lot more than the house. Sorry dude, it sounds like a terrible situation. Although it may upset her, sometimes you will need to put your foot down and say that this is going down the wrong path. She'll either thank you for it later, when she realises the lifestyle is wrong, or you'll both realise it isn't working and go your separate ways.
  18. It differs. At times, it can be relentless. It can be quieter and a bit more peaceful. It's a fun school to work at, though. Thursdays are the worst, as I've got a staff meeting at 10:30, then I'm on lunch duty and afternoon break duty, too. Sometimes, there will be another meeting after school or even an evening duty which lasts until 9. So, I'm working without really stopping from half 8 until 9 in the evening on those days. But then, Friday is my normally quiet day and I don't need to be there until about 1. I do differ between being quite laid-back and then being a bit of a slave driver.
  19. I've just signed a long-term replacement for my goalkeeper. Looking at my squad now to see who is going to feature in my long term plans. Very happy with some areas. Midfield is shaping up nicely, it's up front where we need to improve. Think I need to make a big decision and sell one of my strikers to bring in a better one. Barculo is a 23 8 but his only special quality is that he is an all-rounder. Saying that, my best striker is a 29 9 and doesn't have any specials either and he's been scoring for fun. Hmm. I've selected a weaker team for my game later on. I'm treating it as a friendly, and I know I'm probably going to lose it anyway, so giving some of my squad team a run out, hoping they'll gain some form. Should help in the coming season.
  20. The answer to that is...noooooo. I thought I had played my cup game already. Awesomes! This is like Rocky II. I am Rocky and Niko is the old and slow Apollo. The young blood will surely win this. I predict that I will destroy him 1-0 at home. Thanks for the message, dude. I've sent the request so all should be ok. Let's get eet onnn.
  21. Yeah...I didn't really have time to set anything up as I was at work. I changed my default team a few days before that before I even sent the request, which was only a guide. So, that was the team he played against. Hence why there were no players marked, no subs, etc. I figured he might've forgot to accept the request, so didn't even know if the game would go ahead. Aw well. Good luck to him in the next round.
  22. Right, where to start? I have a few issues with that England team list. For a start, can't believe Richards didn't get in. How Johnson is rated above him is anyone's guess. This is coming from a United fan, so it pains me to recommend a City player. Secondly, Carroll ahead of Sturridge and Crouch? As a "planning for the future" idea it fails because Sturridge has a lot of potential, too. As a "doing well at the Euros" idea, it also fails because Crouch has a great record. It doesn't work on either level. Thirdly, no Carrick? Henderson getting in ahead of Carrick? Are you fucking joking? Carrick has been great for United all season and has possibly had his best season for the club, bar his first. Henderson has been below par for Liverpool all season. Only Liverpool fans like him. Next, no Ferdinand, but it's fine to take Terry? The man who almost cost his team a Champions League Final, the man involved in a racist row and a man who captained his team to a place outside of the Champions League? I can understand maybe not taking Rio due to his long term injury issue, but he has played many games this season, the most for years. He has played far better than Terry. This next one is an absolute joke. Putting Downing into the squad. Just...terrible. Adam Johnson has played better and he's had far less opportunities than Downing. Why isn't he selected? Also, I can't help but look at that goalkeeper selection and feel worried. Joe Hart is obviously first choice, but everything after that is worrying. Basically, if anything happens to Hart, we're fucked. As for Kenny Dalglish getting sacked: Can't really fault that call. Yes, he has won a trophy, but at the expense of the league. That's putting it mildly.
  23. Got a semi-decent change report. My midfield improved with two of my seven raters going up by 1 and my 6 rater improving. The two midfielders who had 9 and 10 dv showed no visible drop, but apparently they dropped. Hmm. Annoyingly, one of my best defenders (31 7) had 10 dv and it shows a minus next to him now. Gah, that's twice that's happened in a row. I've put two bids in for goalkeepers. One is a cheap buy and is a back up in case the other one falls through. Basically, I've got to start planning for the future as I can see my goalkeeper retiring in the near future. He's only a 7 anyway, whereas the two I was looking at were an 18 4 and 21 6, so more potential there. Also, no reply from Andy after I challenged him for the match. Hmm
  24. Who are Andy Allstars? I can't find them in the N-E league. Wait, found them now.
  25. Consider yourself lucky that I'm even putting out a youth team. I was contemplating fielding a team of monkeys and circus animals. But, then I realised that @Ellmeister has been doing this for a season already and didn't want to steal his idea.
