It's turned out to be a very good match. There's very little between the two, although Murray seems to be edging it. Hopefully the fourth set will be the final one. Some of his tennis during the tiebreak for the second set was brilliant. Both players have been excellent, top class. I'm seeing a few facebook updates from people saying that tennis is boring, that Andy isn't very good, etc. How can anyone not enjoy this?

It's inevitable that he would leave. Except, I don't believe money is an issue. It's clear that the likes of City and Spurs have caught up with Arsenal, even surpassed in many respects. Key players have left over the years and some of the players that have come in just haven't been good enough. There's only so long you can spend on re-development, clearly he wants to be winning trophies. It's sad, as I do think that this signals the end of his time in the Premier League. We need this calibre of player to stay with the top teams as it makes the league more exciting. But, these days, if a player doesn't like what's happening at the club, they can leave. A lot of the time, they end up doing just that.

Good stuff, Dazz. Now that I've got a bit more time, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Feel very motivated today and have just done some chest work. Time for a shower, I think!

Not sure I'll have time today...didn't know Andy Murray was playing today. He had his game yesterday, so thought it would've been off til tomorrow.

I love Ocarina, but feel that it has had it's day. It's had tons of time in the spotlight and will always be the definitive Zelda. But, it's time for new experiences. A new Zelda for the 3DS which isn't anything like Phantom Hourglass would have sold the 3DS to me instantly. We can all dream, though. I will probably play Pilotwings in the future and enjoy it. But yeah, a new location would have done wonders for it. It killed my enthusiasm seeing "Resort" added to the name, devalued the game in a way.

That bolded part is what/all I needed to know. I want something that makes you feel uneasy and unsettles you. Re4 had that in pockets, but there were times where I felt it became too much of a third person shooter. A deviation. Hmm, I don't have a CPP, but I don't really want one. I'm not keen on dual analogue at all. I quite enjoyed the MP:Hunters control scheme, although my hand did ache after a while. I'd much rather use that scheme than using dual analogue, but I'm not really sure what schemes there are for this.

The Dark Knight Rises (Spoilers inside, enter at own risk)

What the- Go do eetttt. It's the way it should be done. So jealous. -
I didn't say fighting games belong on a home console. I said these fighting games do, in particular Street Fighter 4. It's basically the 360 game stripped down with 3D added. It's not something which is created purely with the 3DS in mind. There probably is a lot of depth to the game, but I dislike what they've done in terms of choosing the setting. It just doesn't seem that fun to explore Wuhu. It's pretty much killed my enthusiasm for the game. Hard to describe, I guess. If they had created a new landscape with its own identity, something new, I probably would have paid full price for it. Especially as its the work of Monster games. I've played Ocarina of Time to death. I'm not buying it again. That's all I'm really saying on that matter. For new gamers who have never played it before, they are in for a treat. Also, I've already played the game as it was meant to be played, on the N64, where it rightfully earned its title by many as the greatest game of all time.

The Dark Knight Rises (Spoilers inside, enter at own risk)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Retro_Link's topic in General Chit Chat
I've booked tickets to see Batman Begins and The Dark Knight back to back. It's going to be in one of the Studio Rooms at Empire Cinema (in Poole). The room is tiny, it feels pretty intimate. So excited. Glad that this has a long running time. 2 Hours probably would have been too short to round things off. The ultimate dream would have been seeing all three films back to back, but lets not get greedy now. -
So it feels more like the original Resi, as opposed to 4 and 5? Another question: I played Metroid Prime Hunters left handed, so I used the ABXY buttons to move and strafe, and had the stylus in my left hand to aim, etc. What's the control scheme like for Revelations? I don't care a great deal about dual analogue.
-
I've not seen this yet, but Garfield looks more "comfortable" in the Spiderman suit than Maguire ever did. From trailers, he seems less whiney, too. Glad there's some favourable reviews on here. Tempted to go and see it now. After Batman, of course.
-
As soon as Monster Hunter comes out, I'll be all over it. Also, another Hotel Dusk would send me over the edge. Or, a new Metroid. All would be forgiven.
-
@Mokong X\-C, if you could compare this to another Resi, which one would it be? As much as I liked 4, I did feel that at times it went too far down the action route and strayed from survival horror. 6 looks like it's strayed even more.
-
Awww, no water? Seriously, really want a Monster Hunter right now. May need to invest in some more time on Tri. I imagine it just kicks considerable arse being able to take Monster Hunter with you on the go.

Xpert 11 Season 23: The highlight of the Summer
Fierce_LiNk replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Oh god, next time I'm at an N-E meet...I swear to God, I'm going to be all over this Xperteleven shit! Hope Haden goes, so I can change his shirt number before sacking him. -
The problem I have with some of those is that the DS taught us something which the Gameboy Advance seemed to massively overlook: That the handheld experience should vastly differ from the home console experience. I've tried Zelda, Pilotwings, Street Fighter, Dead or Alive and quite a few others. Zelda is lovely, but we played it over a decade ago. Therefore, I'm not buying it. Street Fighter was fine, but again, it doesn't really work for me on a handheld. It's a home console game that's been adapted for handheld, whereas it shouldn't be that way. Same for Dead or Alive. Pilotwings is one I just can't figure out. Love the idea, but absolutely loathe the setting. It's not something that excites either one of us. If you can get them at a reduced price, then it's tempting to get these games. But, you wouldn't buy a 3DS to play Street Fighter or Dead or Alive, would you now? On the other, Icarus really has been a saving grace. It's made especially for the system, it's new, it's fun, it's vibrant, it's got a brilliant online, it's got tons of depth, it's got countless unlockables. We need more like this. @darksnowman has already got it about second tier games. The shop games will be great, but it's not the reason to own the system. Resident Evil on the 3DS looks even more appealing thanks to 6 on the HD systems looking like arse. If we get more of these types of games, then I'll be on that quickly. There just seems to be a huge gap in quality between 3Dland + Icarus and then everything else. Yes, not every game is wanted by everyone and people have different tastes (etc, etc), but I can definitely understand why there are gamers out there who either haven't jumped onto the 3DS yet or are disappointed with it. On the plus side, things such as Street Pass are fantastic and differentiate the 3DS from everything else out there. We spent a long time just "messing about" with the system before even playing any games on it. All I want...just more games. System is great, love the look and feel of it. But, this is a massive waiting game we're all playing.
-
To highlight the fact that she is an avid handheld gamer. Apart from Icarus, she's hardly touched the system. The third party support so far has been dreadful. Like I said, I'm sure it will be amazing in the future. But, right now, it isn't looking great. Where's the likes of Advance Wars? What about a new Starfox, which we have all been craving for some time? (please don't include the Lylat Wars cash-in)

I hope the game bombs, causing Capcom to realise that they have taken the franchise completely in the wrong direction. Therefore, allowing them to make amends in the next game. It will never happen, mind.

It's Raining_Again for the 26th year in a row
Fierce_LiNk replied to gaggle64's topic in General Chit Chat
Happy Birthday, McPhee. And Happy Birthday to you too, Raineeng. Thank you for destroying the British summer. -
I'm going to start the beast that is Xenoblade tomorrow. I've put it off until I know I've got enough time to play through it, enjoy it and finish the damn thing. I hear it is long.
-
I will, in time. We both have too many Wii games to start/finish, so it'll have to wait. I do want pullblox. I keep being tempted by Street Fighter, but rather because it's a cheap 3DS game, instead of because I really want it.

Have enjoyed watching the competition so far this year, although the weather has been tremendously shit. The Murray Match against Baghdatis was interesting to watch. Thought Baghdatis played well, particularly with coming closer to the net, something which Murray seemed reluctant to do during the match. He looked great against Cilic today, much better. I've been busy in work for the last few days, moving all of my shit into a new classroom. So, whilst I'm tidying up, I've been watching the matches on the BBC website, watching it onto the projected screen. Its great.

Loved the Euro board. Cheers, Franklin. Daniel Sturridge is in hospital with suspected meningitis. Hope he's ok.

It's a bit of a tricky ground to include digital/e-shop games. I still don't think any of them are "system sellers", so to speak, whereas something like Icarus is. I'm probably with Darksnowman on this one. Ine has a plethora of DS games that she has collected. Around the 50 mark, give or take. Her total 3DS game collection is at 3. Mario Kart and 3DLand were both gifts for Christmas and birthday, whilst she got Icarus because we had a voucher for amazon, so it worked out cheaper. Icarus looks brilliant from what I've seen of it. But, aside from those 3 and possibly Resident Evil, there isn't much else on the system (full retail titles) that grabs either one of us. I'm sure it'll be great in the future, but that's another issue I have with the system. We need more definite information about games that are coming out soon. New and innovative games that push the boundaries of handheld gaming. Not a gold version of NSMB.

Xpert 11 Season 23: The highlight of the Summer
Fierce_LiNk replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Lost 4-0 today against Winston Gardens. I thought I'd lose the game, but can't believe the scoreline. He created 3 more chances than me (7-4), so I'm a bit meh about conceding four goals from there and not scoring any. I got unlucky with suspensions, but will be stronger in the next game. Also, the manager rating is a crock of shit. How can we both get a four star rating?
