  1. Really sad to see what's going on there. Hope it works out! Crazy how unfit some people are to run/own football clubs. I had the game on live text yesterday and thought that maybe your season was over after it went 2-2. But, Origi popping up to get the winner keeps it exciting. A Monday night fixture isn't particularly great for City, but you'd still expect them to win it. Think it might be down to how much of a game Brighton give them in the last match.
  2. Cheers for the concern! It's healed over pretty well, but I don't think it's quite there yet. I can exercise and train legs absolutely fine, but it is slightly more noticeable when I tense that calf muscle compared to the other one. Guess it may need a bit more time!
  3. I agree with your comment about it looking like an early PS4 title. The concept of being chased by big hordes sounds interesting and there are one or two things that, for me, have potential. But, I think I was expecting it to hugely improve in looks after the first announcement and it just doesn't seem to have done so. Definitely does like a bit bland and ordinary.
  4. About a month or so ago, we set ourselves a mammoth challenge of trying to catch up with this universe so that we could watch Endgame in the cinema. Yesterday, we finally watched Infinity War. We've only got Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel to watch (which we may just watch afterwards) but we are ready for Endgame!
  5. Another horrible performance. I'm seriously concerned about the club's transfer policy. What exactly do we look for when we scout or buy a player? Our players can't pass, they don't shoot, they don't move, they can't defend and they don't make others around them perform better. I look at City's squad over the last decade and you could probably count the number of flops on one hand. It's our simple passing and moving that annoys me. Such a lazy team. I didn't see anything today from the team that demonstrated that this is an important derby game.
  6. I wasn't hugely optimistic going into the Everton game, so I thought we'd maybe lose 1-0 or 2-1. Was not expecting a 4-0 battering! Team were aawwwwfuuuullll. Everton completely bossed the midfield and tore our right hand side into shreds. Imo, this Everton team have talented players, but I felt that we still had enough in our squad to cause them problems. The easiest game of football that Pickford is ever going to have. Didn't have a single shot on target until the 85th or 86th minute.
  7. This is simultaneously the best and the worst thing that I've seen today. It's an advert that somebody made to promote a property in Australia. More info can be found here.
  8. I was out tonight so didn't get a chance to watch the match. Sounds like a crazy game and what a dramatic finish with the disallowed goal. It's all set up nicely for Ajax to come in as the underdogs and swoop in for the trophy. (United were disappointing last night)
  9. I made it halfway through your post before realising that you were on about the Vita. Forgot it existed. Maybe they'll ditch the numbers and call it something else. Playstation Beyond? Playstation Next. Who knows, eh?
  10. I get what you're saying about:
  11. A bit of an over exaggeration.
  12. Star Wars has always been very "soap opera in space", so anything goes. If they want to bring back Sidious/Palpatine/whoever, then do it. We've already had Leia flying through space in her Mary Poppins moment, so let's just see how far we can take this! I'm completely fine if they ignore almost everything that happened in Episode 8, btw.
  13. Can you please show your disgust in gif form. Asking for a friend.
  14. It makes sense that we use this as the official thread for PS5 chat, rather than having the discussion in various locations and getting lost. I've also edited the title to make it less clickbaity.
  15. Unlucky, @Choze. We've already got a thread for this in Other Consoles, complete with a misleading clickbait title! You can find it here. I'll lock this one, so we can carry on the discussion in the other thread.
  16. I've toyed with the idea of getting an account there, but I just lurk and read at the moment. Biiiig forum though and quick moving, especially the match day threads. I'm the same as you in that I see it as a long term project, too. First thing the club needs to do is work out what's going on with the current squad and which contracts are going to be renewed or not. Looks like Herrera is off, so we'll probably need to get another midfield in the summer. We're probably looking at a centre back, right back (either first choice or to contend with Dalot for the spot), centre midfield and up front. Possibly a right winger, too. Ole has his work cut out!
  17. I quite like the look of Dalot and hopefully he'll get better with more playing time. Looks quite comfortable on the ball and isn't afraid to go forward. I like to see that in a right back. Hmm, I'd say it's a combination of things. The injuries have all seemed to arrive at once and there's been a bit of disruption with things like the internationals and cup games. The momentum has been lost a little and that's been reflected in some of the performances, which have dipped slightly. There's also been a run of tough games, especially away and you get the feeling that players are mentally tired. From reading the RedCafe forums, I think most of the fans there are quite realistic and would agree that Ole has done very well, but that the club needs work going forward. I also think the contract or transfer talk around certain players isn't helping (Herrera, De Gea, Pogba) and it has been a very long and rollercoaster season. Personally, I'm enjoying watching the games and there's never a dull moment, but I can also see that we need to go through another rework. You also get the odd one or two who are negative no matter what happens, and there are the ever-optimists who always believe that things will get better. Realistically, we're somewhere in the middle. The team of Ole, Carrick and Phelan looks good to me and I do think that we'll improve. Months ago, we were well out of the top 4 race and now we're in it. We still could turn the Barcelona tie around, too. So, there is a lot to be optimistic about. If we play like we did yesterday but take more shots at goal, then we can still do it.
  18. I went through about a dozen different emotions last night. The defending for the goal was terrible and I really feared that we'd go on to lose by more than we actually did. As the first half went on, I thought that the team did well to put Barcelona's defence and midfield under pressure. My personal man of the match was between McTominay and Fred, who were both awesome with their pressing and passing and never letting Barcelona settle. But you are right about Young and a few of the others. For me, Ole brought on the right players but took off the wrong ones, too. Dalot should have been kept on and moved to right back, with Young being the one to make way. He was awful last night. We had the ball on the right hand side so many times and just needed that one great cross into the box. Young couldn't pass, couldn't tackle, couldn't defend or attack. It was really clear last night that he isn't a natural right back, so he probably deserves some slack. Maybe. Overall, I think the result is slightly meh. We didn't do enough up top, especially with the lack of shots on target. There were so many moments where I was screaming for someone to shoot, but instead we'd pass it out to the right as normal. The team just needed to be a bit braver and take more shots on. We managed to get at them in midfield and had enough of the ball to do something with it, but just lacked a bit more. On a side note, the referee was appalling and should have sent off Busquets after 20 minutes. Lingard got a yellow card straight after coming on for absolutely nothing. Busquets made at least 3 yellow card "tackles" in the game and should have walked.
  19. Such a good film. Loved seeing it in the cinema and still listen to the soundtrack often. Would love to play a Spiderman game in that graphic style! We're attempting to watch all of the MCU before End Game comes out. I had already seen Ant-Man and Black Panther fully, and then bits and pieces of films such as Iron Man and Thor. So far, we've seen the first Captain America, Iron man 1 and 2, and watched the first Thor yesterday. According to the list we've been following, Avengers is next. Not going to watch any TV series stuff as I can't be arsed. The films are enough.
  20. I've managed to find a way to get around all of the hassle. Luckily, we have one which is less than a 2 minute's drive from us and I've already worked out the timings of when it's busy or quiet. They never seem to have more than one person working at a time and the people that work there all seem lovely. Haven't had a bad experience yet, so I seem to have hit the jackpot there. Never been there waiting with more than 2 people in front of me. The chitchat is also quite minimal too, so you haven't got to think quickly for interesting stuff to say. I just tell them, "I'm a teacher. I'm tired." They soon leave me alone! The worst places that I've found are the ones that seem to have a different guy working there each time. Where do they find these people?! I had a terrible experience in Newport once where this geezaaaaar told me he was "going to give me the best haircut in all of Newport, blud". By then, it was too late and I was already in the chair and barber-bibbed up. Easily the worst haircut of my life. It was shoooooort. Not short enough to count as bald, not long enough to do anything with it. Just one size all the way around. He did the whole thing with the mirror where they show you the back. Yup, just as shiiiit as the front thanks, blud.
  21. Get baaack on iiiiit. I need to do the same, too. Definitely not an easy language to pick up casually. It requires a lot of effort, but I imagine the payoff will be great. Maybe assigning a few minutes a day or a specific day where you can concentrate on it. You may get better results that way. Cheers for that. I've had a look at it and it could be quite useful. I may look to see if there's another multiplatform site out there, just to vary it up a bit as my interest is also in hibernation.
  22. I've been having a refresh with Spanish recently and have put quite a few hours in. To just freshen things up a little, I'm going to make more of an effort to read some Dutch and Spanish news sites to at least brushen up on my reading. I use VRT NWS for Dutch (used to be called deredactie) and have had a little look at El Mundo for Spanish. Anyone got any other news sites in these languages that may be worth a look? Quite like VRT and I usually look at that when in Belgium anyway. Any good Spanish radio stations? For Dutch/Flemish, I listen to Stu Bru, which is actually my favourite station now. Brilliant station.
  23. Our hallway has that horrible, dreaded artex on the walls and on the ceiling. We have a small area at the bottom of the stairs where our front door is (like a mini-hallway) that has it, and the entire walls and ceiling above the stairs has it. It's grim, disgusting stuff. We painted over it to begin with, which made it look mildly better, but we have finally decided that enough is enough and have hired someone to sort it out. We have two guys who are plastering the walls and ceiling right now. It's going to take around 3 days, apparently. Whoever thought artex was a good idea needs shooting in the face!
