  1. Flip that's crazy. Glad yer not hurt nandorinooo I've seen some crappy driving from R's... I was doing 70 (on a 70) and got overtook by a restricted driver, not even that long ago! o_O
  2. You think it rains in England, you should pop over to Ireland some time :P We had a lovely day on Friday and I was in work all day, got to see about an hour of the nice warm sun. Balls.
  3. learning front squats today, man they are hard... then did back squats (50kg x 5) overhead push presses (50 x 3) then power cleans... got up to 45 with them (can do 52.5) and had to tap out because my wrists were smashed by this point. Quite pleased with my squats though, 5 months ago I couldnt do a bodyweight squat to parallel without pain, now I can do proper ass to grass squats with 50kg very confidently
  4. my underhand deadlifting hand
  5. I liked the internal struggle, that was super awesome
  6. Yeah I think its the angle lol
  7. but I also carry plasters!
  8. Yeah, took a while to empty it... lol
  9. Yes, I plan my routines before and log them on fitocracy afterwards
  10. Yessss for short legs! They have their advantage, I have no problems with squat depth, I can pretty much get ATG. My problem is keeping myself tight and straight whilst coming up. I'm quite new to squats so I guess it'll come with time. I tried a new preworkout yesterday (Musclepharm Assault), was like rocket fuel during my workout, I was on fire and kicked ALL the asses. 50kg power clean and ohp x3! Threw it up like I was superman too, none of this ARGHGHGHG... nearly got it.. yay...*death* business. Then I got home, crashed so hard I spent the next 12 hours in a borderline comatose vomiting state. >_< Only intend to use it for my 1rm days (usually once a week) so by next Sunday it'll be completely out of my system, and I'll give it a shot with a quarter of what I used last time. I've no need for a stim when I'm only doing 50%rm or things like kettlebell swings! I was so dehydrated yesterday from all the vom that I was drinking my weight in water today, I've done nothing but peeeeeeeeeeee. Lesson well learned, not all preworkouts are the same!!! I started slimming world today as well, their guidelines seem to suit me for a training style diet (plenty of protein, lower fat, moderate carbs)
  11. pre workout bcaa nom nom
  12. If you continue the way you are going, you are headed towards weight loss stalls, health problems, and the cycling between what you're doing and binge episodes. I've been there and done it countless of times before, and as a result I am 3 stone heavier than when I started dieting in 2008. I agree with JonSt's point, its gotta be a change in lifestyle.
  13. I've skipped breakfast (and lunch) on many occasions, as I do intermittent fasts. My metabolic rate is not trashed, contrary to popular belief.
  14. Ive been in a deficit for about 5 weeks. The week before I started I got an Clean/OHP of 50kg and haven't seen it since come baaaacccckk Also......situps are just back pain waiting to happen! DEM PLANKS. Works your core about a million times harder too x( (and the added bonus of no repetitive strain!!)
  15. Wow, that is NOWHERE near enough food! Calorie allowance calc
  16. I can OHP 50kg, but I doubt I could even OHS 40kg. Its a good workout for stabilising, lots of back/shoulder/arm work keeping it all steady. The limitations are in what you can keep steady as opposed to what you can squat! Back/front squats for legs without a doubt.
  17. Yeah I found overheads didn't really activate the legs as much, I spent more energy/muscle power keeping my body straight, and keeping the bar still above my head I guess! I've never felt doms in my hams before! I love it when new parts ache that never did before! And like srs swole, my legs are muscly today (no doubt they'll be gone in the morning )
  18. Sounds like a reasonable deal to me. I'd be wary of super cheap places, like its been said, they're not always as good as they seem. Mines £25.99 a month and I think I had to pay £40 odd to join. On a slightly different note, my ass hurts, my legs hurt and my shoulders hurt. Ow. Also, I found a downside of being a woman. post squats, and having to sit on the toilet every damn time
  19. Enthusiasm - 1% Perception - 2% Emotional - 5% Social creativity - 9% Musical Creativity - 1% Not really surprised lol
  20. Woooooo squats! First time doing back squats and my shoulders are hammered lol! Think this is the most my quads and hams have worked in a long time! Only 40kgx5 reps (x3 sets)
  21. double 16kg kettlebell swings. 24kg single swing got boring! Men be 'mirin. Pt looks on with pride! *flexes*
  22. Ohhh my PT is taking me into the lions den next week, where the benches and squat racks are. I'm playin wit the big boys naow
  23. You Are Your Own Gym by Mark Lauren is a very awesome book for ideas of bodyweight stuff. I am definitely on the olympic/powerlifting side of weightlifting. Static weights bore me and I hate having to rely on a stand. Its bad enough getting an oly bar in my gym at times! Come to the dark side @Retro_Link, we need moar members =P Also I think you'd be surprised at what you CAN lift if you give it a try, with some good advice, encouragement and a bit of hard work. *nods*
  24. I've got a 7ft Olympic bar, its a beast. Worth every penny. But I *think* the oly plates are more expensive. However the oly has the advantage that its already 20kg in itself, compared to 5-10kg for regular bars. Kettlebells are awesome, there's a lot ye can do with them.
  25. ohhh yeah I forgot you worked out at home!
