  1. My dad served in the falklands too! ^__^ but he was in the RAF.
  2. I have to use a dry shaver with my skin condition - a razor would cut me to bits!
  3. when you shave with a blade it will take off a certain amount of skin, and therefore will irritate it. So yeah, shaving can make spots worse. you are taking a sharp blade to your skin, what do you expect
  4. You all want to be taken seriously, but a good few of you can't even be bothered to use a spell check. Massive fails.
  5. my condition is an auto immune disease - which means my immune system runs too fast - i have healing powahs! Maybe. The flip side of that is often my immune system attacks itself! And ill be pumping myself with horrendous medication for the rest of my life. What can I say - im a genetic throwback, child of cousins @DD - don't worry my dear, you know me, i don't get offended all that easily
  6. Nonono you shouldn't feel guilty. I probably suffer the same as you, I'm used to what I have as are you. Its probably as irritating for you! Agree with the other bolded. See if you do speak to your GP, get refered to a skin doctor/dermatologist! Hopefully its just a flare (sun can make it worse too fyi!) so you may get better soon! @ tellyn: a lot of stronger skin meds change the way your skin behaves and makes you less tolerant to the sun! Ie you gotta be anal with suncream. My meds makes my risk of skin cancer seriously higher, but I have no choice but to be on it. p.s mega kudos on this thread, one of my (only) expertises :P
  7. blehhh I feel like my body is falling apart. cant sleep, struggling to keep up standards at work, migraines on a daily basis. It feels like my body is just destroying itself. Gonna see the doc on friday and see if i can get some painkillers/advice/something to get through this. All the stress of being left on my own doing a 5 man job has hit me. In the face. Hard. I spoke to my mum about it, said that I may end up being on sick leave if it gets much worse. She thinks im faking it or something. I'm really fucking disappointed. So much so i feel like crying, my own mum doesn't believe how unwell I feel..
  8. Thankyou! Salty water is good, natural healing. If your gonna make it use SEA SALT and not table salt! Some people have a slight dairy intolerance (but can eat/drink it without any side effects) and it may cause spots. And surprising at how many people think you are unhygienic when you have a skin condition. Peoples ignorance shocks me. Sure some people have it not so severely and it can be managed, but there are quite a lot of severe cases about! water dries out skin (contrary to belief) my skin used to crack and bleed after a shower because it dried out so much! Get the moisturiser on ye! :P
  9. Its not always as simple as that. I've been battling with a skin condition for 20 years. Going to the doctor or dermy won't mean an instant cure - it depends on your case - how severe it is - how you react to certain meds/treatment - how long it takes to find the right one. But I'm all for people going to see the dermatologist. They know more than your gp would, and EVERYONE should at least ask to be refered! I'm one of my local clinics more critical patients, I've been on more topicals, drugs and other therapies than you can imagine. I'm only in remission now after 20 years. My skin condition developed further into arthritis, and i'm now a really sick person because of it. I know the terrifying fear of a skin problem coming back. I've had it oh so many times with treatments that improve it then stop working. Heck the meds i'm on now are so expensive (£180 per syringe!!) they are likely to be cut at some point, and it'll come back again. My skin condition is so severe that it could kill me. I've been let down so many times with miracle treatments that could cure me, and end up not.
  10. rez wants me you all to get your pms in, stat! new day soooon
  11. my wrist is bollllox. Going to the dr, gonna see if she'll give me some decent painkillers (aka not this non-steriodal-anti-inflammatory stuff they all have been palming off on me) then I'm going to the dentist next week to get my teeth looked at. My jaw makes a horrendous crack when i open it (has done for aggges) so its probably unaligned. Gah. Will probably have to pay privately to get it sorted asap. Not going on a waiting list, no way, im getting severe migraines because of it ;__; It's all caused from grinding, which is also trashing my fillings! gah >_< I don't think I've been like "healthy" or pain free for years. That's kinda sad really. *complains somemore*
  12. dodododooo 1lb off ^____^ now 17st 13&1/2 mwahahah Goodbye 18stone
  13. need to get the addon for it. Tools > addons > get addons > search for british english dictionary and install eet.
  14. To be honest I don't see unusual hair colours as bad as lots of makeup. The bright colours in my mind look FAR better than some of the "tramp hairstyles" that I've seen. But then I am somewhat biased on the topic. as regards to makeup - I never have and never will wear foundation. I put on some mascara and eyeshadow if there's a special occasion I have to go to and that's about it. The one (and probably the only) thing I like about myself is my perfect complexion. Girls that I meet do comment on it a lot, so I suppose I'm fortunate that I don't have to wear makeup. =)
  15. I'm in the top 10! only just! woooo
  16. Well i was debating coming forward so soon, and seeing nobody else had evidence i came forward! You saying you would rather i didn't? Sounds sussed to me ¬¬ I'm bolloxed either way, lets be fair
  17. They have shared headsets in the place I work at and trust me they are disgusting. (thankfully I have my own set) Ear infections! Especially so with the inner ones. Cans get dirty from whatever skin and rubbish is on the side of your face or whats in your hair. Defo not hygienic to share - wouldn't share mine and wouldnt borrow anyone elses - that's for sure.
  18. this is the part im talking about:
  19. I just passed that exact same thing except I was the only experienced person in. Good luck!
  20. So, nobody was killed last night. The killer was roleblocked. I am a roleblocker. I am pink and turquoise. I roleblocked Paj. Do the math? Vote: paj
  21. I've been working in an NHS call centre for 4 years underpaid The belfast trust call centre (that does the same job!) get 2k pa more than us (thats what.. about £100/£130 a month after tax?) if they realign our pay our staff will be in for a HUGE payback. Yay. the nhs are supposed to pay the same! that was the whole point of AfC and the whole realignment we all went through. I know its only temp service but you should be under a banding scheme, depending on what your job entails. Unless of course its done under a private scheme by the local council? Then they can pay you whatever the shit they like. Unfair but true. Also my day sucked. My wrist is bolloxed. I was bored at work now we arent shortstaffed. Fail.
  22. pft, you do nothing but go on about nuts and zoo in the knee chat room. also; its raining, like the actual word
