Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (November 15th 2019)

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Start of New Franchise, EA Confirms Good news! -
The quote that's going around about the show is that it's "female-centric". That's what I'm going on, it's not my judgement, it's that of insiders. Leia is the most beloved character of six films, she's certainly treated as such, especially in 7, 8 and 9. Ahsoka Tano is another beloved fan favourite, she's the main star of a 7 season long animated show, and from what I understand is an amazing character. Rey is literally the main lead of the three modern day saga films and Jyn Erso was the main lead on one of the two spin off films. There's loads of Strong Female Characters™, especially under Disney, not just in lead roles but side ones too, and that's great. I'm not kicking and screaming that Disney are making a show for the female market (allegedly), I just question why they can't make a show that everyone can enjoy with Strong Female Characters and strong male characters as well, doing Star Wars-y things. Can I ask again what those "male centric Star Wars stories" you mentioned are please? And how female characters = new stories? If this series is to "broaden the fanbase" then sure, but I'm not sure Star Wars needs broadening. Fans of either gender love it and one look around the Celebration floor and you'll see a 50:50 mix, which is great.

No prob sounds good! I have green and pink, I’ll order both now and you can choose tomorrow, or just take both lol -
Fuck me it’s about fucking time. Years and years of people begging EA to do it must have finally sunk in. Wonder if they’ll be built for next gen or this gen.

Nice! I won’t ask if you time travelled

They know a thing or two about game design. It’s designed so that you meet new villagers instead of constantly just picking your favourites and having the same experience every game.

Great! Tell new stories that we've never seen before. But how does female characters = new stories? What does that even mean? What are some "male centric Star Wars stories"? Don't put words in my mouth. I never suggested my masculinity was threatened. That would be ridiculous, but it's an easy and tired cliche to jump on. Really? You don't say. As a gay, half middle eastern man, yes, I realise that. Not to mix my sci-fi franchises up but maybe stand down from red alert? All I meant was instead of cutting your market in half, why not look to tell stories that everyone can enjoy. It's just a funny world where saying a series is going to be "male focused" would be sexist, but saying it's going to "female focused" is representation.

I never said it was fine that the gaming industry has problems with exploitation. -

I didn't mean this guy in particular, but even with this guy (...And then he goes to work in the non gaming sector and find things like that aren't exclusive to the gaming industry) -
Don't think either of those charms are all that useful to be honest. It's the simplest ones that make the biggest difference. Quick slash let's you attack twice as fast, hugely useful. Or the one that let's you heal twice as fast, maybe in combination with Grub song that let's you get soul when taking damage. Shaman Stone I think it's called that increases spell damage. Things like that.

That's the difference. I'd love for studios to do it, not one guy with axe to grind. -

Boo game looks like a fun concept. I hope this isn't the start of every man and his dog who left a company thinking they can just reveal confidential work from a studio. I know that's allegedly not what happened at ND, but that's what most still believe. -
As long as you're picking up plenty of charms, and are maybe a nail upgrade or two in you can go for them whenever really. If the City of Tears one is the one with the 5 or 6 Watcher Knights I feel your paint, that fight took me ages. If you haven't maybe try looking above their boss room before you enter though. That's probably the toughest dreamer for those guys alone. Sorry I can't offer too much advice, it's been a while since I played it and can't remember all the details, others might have more insight...

Sounds good! Smart to keep fans engaged. Hopefully they'll be tighter, more focused broadcasts than their usual Inside Xbox.

Anyone want a big winter train set? Bought one yesterday from another island and then I got one on my own one -
Love the concept art takeover on Disney+, some beautiful work Chiang and of course McQuarrie The Return of the Jedi one is especially cool

Oh right, I just meant he seemed like a cool guy lol. I imagine they'll give him his own shop soon enough.

People seem very happy re: Waititi, much less so re: Headland for some reason. I don't really see the point for a female centric Star Wars show though are we going to have a male centric one too? Why not just have a series everyone can enjoy. But yeah, tons of Star Wars goodness today. Looking forward to the Mandalorian Behind the Scenes series, will watch the first episode of that tonight

Leif's great. I'll hear nothing against him. Also for the first time in over a hundred hours, a villager just asked me to bring them a particular fish. Literally a few minutes ago.
