I like how the little houses in Wild Woods (such a gorgeous track) are in the shape of Shy Guys. I wish that track had been a one lap race like Mount Wario. It would have been breathtaking. Start at the bottom of the tree and make your way up to the very top. I suppose it triples the amount of development work, but still :P

Nintendo's DLC strategy has been excellent. MK8 the obvious example, but Mario Golf as well was great value for money. The amiibo functionality is barebones and a tiny perk for owning the figurines so they work out well as well.

Just been reading up on these "easy fatalities". Offering a certain number of them for real money? That's disgusting.

Just played the Crossing Cup a few times. This game is just incredible. The animation is so fluid and the visuals are just spectacular, proving you don't need the latest gen tech to put out stunning games. The woods track... :o The amount of detail they put into every little corner of these tracks is just mind-blowing, only Nintendo could do that.

3 minute demos, though there are 8 different "scenes" from each game. Game is randomly assigned, 1 amiibo unlocks 1 specific game, and then it's locked to that particular figure. If you have 10 amiibo you'll get 10 different games, no duplicates. Pretty good system tbf

"amiibo Touch & Play: Nintendo Classics Highlights" Catchy title. Makes me wonder if there are other games planned in the 'amiibo Touch & Play' series.

I've gone for the standalone game + amiibo, yes it's a few quid more but I don't like those giant european ratings logos ruining the box art. Still hoping they put up the individual amiibos for sale soon, really want an extra blue and pink one.

Do you need 150cc gold in the new DLC cups as well to unlock 200cc?

"Smash was maybe their first game to commit this disgusting practise" Facepalm. So much for avoiding a bitch fest. The reality of the Splatoon "DLC" makes all the whinging pretty laughable. Seems like Nintendo know exactly how far to push the amiibo perks, definitely been the right side of the line so far.

So the amiibo challenges are the single player levels with a different weapon. Not exactly the earth-shattering day 1 locked content people expected it to be. Just another nice little bonus that's far from necessary.

Give me 3D World's controls (including the run button) over Mario 64's ANY DAY. Just so much more precise.
