  1. I'll be very honest. I think he's stupid, dim witted and bad at his job. I think he made a big mistake that deservedly cost him his job. BUT that doesn't excuse the lynch mob, constant attacks and abuse from everyone online, months later. It's disgusting. Every couple of days someone tweets him abuse, even now. The gaming community has a way of going OTT on everything, and this is no exception. When someone wrongs them, it's pitchforks at the ready for years. It's pretty pathetic.
  2. Overall I think Greg and Tim did a brilliant job with the Kinda Funny Showcase, it was really well produced and flowed pretty well. I do think they accepted a few too many games though, half the ones shown really didn't look up to much. It's obviously tough for them to get any big name indie exclusives but there were a handful in there. The Anthem trailer breakdown stuck out like a sore thumb though, could have done with having another couple of things like that maybe (easier said than done I know).
  3. Interesting. Would certainly be a smart idea of Nintendo to weed people out. The leaks have gotten ridiculous lately and so far more damage than good. Is that Jon from Gamexplain that got demoted? I’m a big fan of his so that’s disappointing. I hadn’t really heard about the insider gossip about Metroid and was still convinced they’d show it. But the more I think about it, clearly Nintendo are 100% focused on Smash atm and understandably so. Oh and yes you have to play Celeste. I think it caught a lot of people by surprise when it first released so everyone fell in love without any expectation. Hopefully the reception it’s gotten won’t taint your time with it.
  4. I dread to visit ResetEra for that very reason. Glad God of War won GOTY. Gutted Celeste missed out on best music. Still don’t understand what Spider Man was doing in any of the categories apart from performance maybe. Guy who plays Arthur seemed nice. The show seemed a bit more low key than last year in terms of announcements and even some of the awards but overall more polished than last year and seems to be getting better and better each year. Seeinf the three CEOs on stage together was great. Well done Geoff and all involved.
  5. He’s a stupid guy. No need for the lynch mob to keep kicking him and ruining his life even further
  6. Nice! Was waiting for that to come to Switch
  7. The WOL stage with Dr Mario and lots of mini Snakes drove me crazy last night. Tried and failed easily 20 times.
  8. The way World of Light customises matches/characters based on the spirit is so clever and so impressive, especially as that means 1300 customised battles!!
  9. Crazy seeing that trailer on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. And no green blood to be seen!
  10. What a fantastic idea The power of Smash
  11. That "1 per customer" notice might have been a waste of paper
  12. The "secret door" in the penultimate level BLEW MY MIND as a kid. Still remember playing it every day with my older brother.
  13. He must be the only person in the world to say something stupid.
  14. Jesus. I thought this day would never come. Can't wait to dive in though, hope the reviews are good. They deserve it after such a long dev time
  15. I really, really hate this trend of revealing things before an event. I get why publishers do it, it gives their game a moment in the spotlight without loads of other reveals competing against them, but it's still frustrating from a fan POV.
  16. Ubisoft have such a diverse range of games, probably the broadest third party publisher in the industry in terms of hitting every genre... but yeah definitely could use another UbiArt type game soon.
  17. Nice to see Xbox finally join the party, they were pretty much absent last year apart from a Sea of Thieves trailer.
  18. Really have to wonder whether Thrawn will be the main baddie in IX and I wonder if releasing this book is a signpost that that might be the case. Not sure they can get by with just Kylo Ren, especially if he's to be redeemed (?). god it's so nice having a proper Star Wars trilogy to talk about it again
  19. Another month without Rygar, Cobra Triangle or Bubble Bobble
  20. I enjoyed my time with it and the structure was interesting but in the end the repetitiveness and grind just go too much. I need to stop giving these big JRPGs a go, I just don't get on with them, especially ones with random, turn based encounters. I wish there were more shorter/10 hour RPGs like Child of Light, I loved that game and actually finished it.
  21. Yeah I've noticed you like to 100% games, I just figured you only did it to the games you really enjoyed. Platinuming an AC game sounds like a real chore. I'm a little similar in that I HATE to put down a game without finishing it. It happens a couple of times a year (Octopath Traveller this year for instance) and it really annoys me. I like to roll credits, then move on. Sometimes 100%-ing a game I really loved.
  22. Mind if I ask why you bothered to get it ? Assuming you weren't having fun by the end which it doesn't sound like you were? It's one of the reasons I'm kind of glad Nintendo are avoiding an achievement system in their games, to me it has to potential to spoil the memory of games, for what amounts to basically a digital tick on a list. Sony needs to start to offering tangible benifits to Platinuming a game. Going back to AC though, I can barely pluck up the courage to just play the game (knowing how much of a serious time sink it'll be), let alone getting the platinum
  23. PR car crash. They're just menu items, not the full games, which means Sony tested them on there but didn't release them.
  24. I've read on a couple of places that it takes an hour or so to unlock all the characters. I don't actually see how that's possible unless you're unlocking one every minute, but I guess we'll soon find out.
  25. Spider Man was a solid game, like you say, ...that I'll completely forget about in a few years. That's what makes the really special games stand out in my opinion, whether I find myself thinking about them constantly when I'm not playing them, or if I constantly think back to them years down the line. Spider Man was basically the culmination of a decade of refining openworld games, but in no way did it stand out or was particularly memorable, for me at least. God of War, Red Dead and Celeste did something special and deserve the praise coming their way. Completely agree with you that Detroit is far more worthy of nominations. My only criticism of God of War was that it lost a lot of steam towards the end in my opinion. Like they felt they had to add four or five hours to the game. But other than that I'd love to see it win
