  1. I get that Japan likes mobile gaming. I truly do. It’s still a decent achievement.
  2. Also, Nintendo Switch Online becoming better and better all the time. *thinks back to that dozen page thread absolutely slaughtering it* It's an absolute steal nowadays + special offers as promised like Tetris 99 and the £20 off vouchers.
  3. Still a huge accomplishment given it's been on sale less than half the time, and that's without any kind of price drop, revision or big sellers like Animal Crossing or Pokemon Sword/Shield.
  4. Incredible amount of love, quality and detail shown for this game, I'm in awe, even if it's hardly surprising at this point, Nintendo are on fire this gen. Fantastic Direct too, they certainly know how to fill 15 minutes worth The 3D World theme looks loads of fun, I'm glad they put a "story" mode in too. Did anyone catch the Super Nintendo logo that flashed up when Mario jumped into the green car? That was a bit weird. Relieved to see tags for courses, that was a big omisson fom the first game and should make searching for courses much easier.
  5. The only thing I hope they leave out (but won't) are sound effects. Those felt really out of place in the original (apart from boss music etc)
  6. Give us a X-Wing/starfighter/military series you cowards! Oh wait, I guess that might be the Cassion Andor series, shame I thought he was horribly miscast.
  7. Saw it tonight, really really enjoyed it, and that's coming from someone who's not really into Pokemon. The world building was excellent, Ryan Reynolds did a great job and Pikachu stole every scene. Hardly mind blowing or a particularly well crafted story but loads of fun. Only negatives were it felt like a fan film at times, in terms of the production, especially that opening scene with his mate catching the Cubone. Maybe I just got used to the filming after that but the start was really jarring how bad the picture quality was. Overexposed, soft, grainy... Oh and the girl, she was just awful. The woman scientist too actually. Psyduck and Pikachu were great fun together.
  8. Interesting! With it releasing so soon after E3 I guess they need to get more info out before then. The big thing for me will be the social/sharing features. There needs to be better curation than on the original game. Things like keywords/filters for the types of levels, ratings etc that sort of thing. Also the ability to leave comments, now that Miiverse is no more. The game itself is going to have a ton of new features, I've been watching some Gamexplain vids where they delve into screenshots and videos from Japan etc and it's looking like a proper sequel. Not expecting any other new theme apart from 3D World but what you can do in the levels seems far broader than the original.
  9. Funny how the most dynamic and over the top scene in the film can seem so lifeless here
  10. It's a real shame. I have no idea why they thought 13 episodes was enough to wrap everything up. The storytelling and writing this season has been a real let down.
  11. My comment about Last Guardian was half arsed and in reply to this... I don't think it matters what the console a game was primarily developed for, especially since development shifted with over a year or two to go in BOTW's case. Ask 1.5 million what console they consider BOTW part of, they'll say Wii U. Ask 13 million (and growing), they'll say Switch. Same with TP and Gamecube/Wii. I just think a bit of common sense should be used, not rigid eligibility rules. Anyway, I appreciate and applaud the hard work you @Glen-i and @S.C.G put into this, but I can't agree with the ruleset so my votes wouldn't mean much in the latter rounds anyway.
  12. Eh? I don't want to make the rules, and never suggested I did, look up a few posts and you'll see I said no worries I'll just stay away from these votes from now on. No big loss to the site anyway.
  13. So Twilight Princess releasing on Wii first, an entire month before the Gamecube port, doesn't matter. Likewise Breath of the Wild being advertised pretty much exclusively as a Switch title and selling literally 10x the number of copies there, means nothing. Got it. One less person voting in this from now on with rules like that.
  14. Twilight Princess is considered a Wii game though, just like BOTW is considered a Switch game, broadly speaking. When you think of Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask, you think "N64", not 3DS. It's an intangible way of categorising games, but the systems they're synonimous with should be considered, and games certainly shoudn't be doubled up on multiple systems for voting. Wind Waker HD is amazing but when I think of that game I think Gamecube. The Wii U had plenty of other fantastic games that shouldn't be cast aside for a port.
  15. I'm not one of these people who want everthing for free or calls games expensive, but £10 does seem a bit pricey. £5 or something would have been better like you say @MindFreak
  16. Nice. I’ve been hoping for a single player mode to this game.
  17. Could be a mix of both, the teaser image seems to indicate one mansion with multple distinct areas. I'm with you I'm really looking forward to this, didn't play the original but I adored Dark Moon. As for Animal Crossing I hope they mix the formula up. They did that a bit on 3DS but I'm hoping for a bigger step forward, it can't just be the same game in HD. I also really hope they add something new to Link's Awakening, I'll be really disappointed if it's the same game with a new (albeit lovely) coat of paint.
  18. With Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Maker, Pokemon, Astral Chain, Link's Awakening, Daemon x Machina and whatever else they reveal I think there's enough there for no one game to get a big focus.
  19. Really excited for Nintendo’s showing... looking forward to the build up and hype... dreading the inevitable leaks in the run up. As usual can anyone who wants to post rumours or leaks do so in spoiler tags please

  21. Three new Star Wars films announced for 2022, 2024 and 2026 https://io9.gizmodo.com/3-new-star-wars-film-will-star-arriving-in-2022-1834584244 Wonder if it'll be a new trilogy or a set of spin offs, probably the former I guess. The best news for me is all three are set to release in December of those years. Star Wars should always be a Christmas film, seeing Solo in May (?) just felt wrong.
