The city looks amazing, I'm genuinely impressed for a Switch game. It's definitely way more than just an typical Platinum action game, the detective stuff looks a lot of fun.

Permadeath? Aren't there like 3 characters to play as? Fixed beat is interesting, seems to defeat the point of the game but will make it a lot more accessible. What time is the eShop usually updated does anyone know?

Cadence of Hyrule Mario Maker 2 Astral Chain (maybe) Link's Awakening Luigi's Mansion 3 Gods & Monsters (probably) Animal Crossing Minecraft Dungeons Lego Star Wars Hollow Knight Silksong (most anticipated game. Cannot. F-ing. Wait.) And obviously Metroid and BOTW 2 I'll probably play Gods & Monsters on Xbox X though

The way levels stop if you put an unbroken wall of blocks is really clever

It's really cool and a bit surreal seeing 8 and 16 bit Mario with new themes like snow and new music made in those styles.

New Super Lucky's Tale looks better than I, well, assumed. Nice to see it demo-ed. The guy certainly seems very proud of his work, and rightly so.

Treehouse's I am Error screen !

Could be wrong but I don't think they've done that for a couple of years now. The last big midshow news was probably Samus Returns or Codename STEAM

Astral Chain really does look great. Way more ambitious than I thought. Treehouse focused on some Sword/Shield gameplay in between segments earlier. Made for painful watching seeing the exact same battle animations, same text pop up, same everything as every other Pokemon game.

Nice to see some gameplay hiding behind all the UI on Daemon X Machina Dunno what the obsession with filling the screen with huge HUD elements, this game, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Astral Chain....

They tend to show off different aspects of the game in each segment though. First one was more about playing, this is more about building. Luigi was single player yesterday and today multiplayer etc I think there's part 2's of Astral Chain and Daemon X Machina incoming as well judging from YouTube titles.

Nook Miles seem to offer a bit more progression than usual

You can't just say "it should be easy to get it to 60", if it was, they would have done it. This is Nintendo EPD, one of the best development studios in gaming, Obviously the visual fidelity was prioritised in the overworld. They prioritise (and hit) a locked 60fps in games that truly need it, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Smash etc. It might be 2D gameplay but it's still a 3D game. I don't think it indicates anything of the sort. Animal Crossing looks lovely, Link's Awakening looks BEAUTIFUL, you said it yourself, Luigi's Mansion 3 looks fantastic. It's not a quetion of quality slipping, they prioritised visuals in a game that is in essence a VISUAL remake. You're playing it for the visuals. Would I like to see 60, absolutely, that would be great, but it obviously isn't possible in its current state. Maybe they'll improve the game. Unlike other platforms, Nintendo games tend to look and run better the closer you get to release, so who knows.
