The sad thing for me is that just like Nintendo Land, Nintendo did not follow it up. Wii sports whilst brilliant was a glorified demo. EA really got to grips with motion play with Tiger Woods and Grand Slam tennis. There was also Virtua tennis but why didn't Nintendo make a proper, golf, tennis, baseball, boxing, bowling game with online, proper graphics a single player mode etc?

What a bloody brilliant title race. Chelsea, City & Liverpool all laying down markers yesterday. Arsenal are still in it purely because there are still so many big games left between the top 4, so points will be dropped. Definitely going down to the last game this year. Would be funny if Mourinho's master plan works and Mata scores a winner against City. I think it's between Liverpool & Chelsea and on paper Chelsea are probably favourites due to having the easier run in. All Wii U exclusive Black Ops II/Ghosts/ACIV/Fifa 13/Injustice/Sonic All Stars Racing/Tank,Tank,Tank. Cross platform Need for Speed Most Wanted/Batman Arkham City/Darksiders II/Tekken Tag Tournament. Remakes as you put it, but these are still cross platform. Just because a game comes out later does not make it a remake, the Wii U was not even released when these games came out.

you're getting away from the point. What is the average attach rate for a console launch, I'm hazarding a guess of 2:1. Those figure are 0.5:1 I can't believe that anybody can thing it's normal that 15,000 Japanese bought a console and no game to play on it. I can honestly say I've got far more games in the first year of Wii U (20+) than I have had for any other console ever.

It's like buying a car when you're 16. Seriously nobody buys anything in anticipation. My tv might break down in a year but I don't buy a replacement now. In contract Wii U sold 7k units and DK sold 7K units. That makes sense, you buy a console and buy a game to play on it. Those PS4 numbers are just bizarre.

i don't get these figures. PS4 is the best selling console, but only two PS4 games in the charts and both only total 13k sales compared to 30k hardware sales. That less than 1 game per console sold, what the hell are the Japanese playing? What's the average ratio of software to hardware sales?

Exactly. They know what's in the game and they must know from Miiverse how pissed off everybody was with the online of Wii Sports U, so if they realise they are going to get negative press when they announce the full functionality of MK online they are just keeping schtum. I swear that would make great TV. Like gogglebox, watching the players play the game. Obviously it would have to be after the watershed, which is ironic considering it's a Mario game.

MK will be great, that's not in doubt. BUT, I have a niggling feeling that the reason they are not revealing details is because it's going to be bad news (no voice chat, poor online) and they simply don't want to deliver bad news, so they are saying bugger all.

the annoying thing is we all know it won't have voice chat, but they could easily include it and only let you hear people who are friends to avoid 7 year olds getting called a "*%$ by randoms. it's annoying that we still know so little about MK8. As for the league, I love it when everybody drives using their Mii as you know who everybody is. That way you can take revenge in the following race for a previous wrongdoing.

surely wii fit, brain academy and Nintendogs should be mentioned here. Just because this a gamer forum and therefore predominantly blokes between 18-30 you can't ignore what these franchises have done in bringing non-gamers to gaming.

Great Thread. Mr Do! - Just my favorite game ever for a quick 10 minute blast. Indy 500 Playing 4 players with paddles in the early 80's. Sensible World of Soccer/Wii Sports Put these together because in both instances I bought an Amiga/Wii just to play these games. Wave Race 64 - The water. Resident Evil - Didn't even play this, was just watching a mate play it and when those hounds jumped through the window we all jumped. Amazing because at the time it seemed so realistic and when see the graphics now they look awful. Star Wars Rogue Leader - Got this at launch with the gamecube. A bit like Resi it didn't play brilliantly but just looked so good, it really felt like you were playing the film. And have to give a shout to Championship Manager and Mario Kart, no particular stand out moments as such, just two game series that have been part of my life for many years. They feel like family.

Dude you are going for the title, stop thinking about top 4 it's a certainty. It's just mad that at this point any of the top 4 could win it but equally any of them could finish 4th and end up in the dreaded qualifying round. This is Liverpools best chance though as being in the Champions League next season will make it much harder to compete on both fronts.

this weekend has really blown the title race wild open again. i though Chelsea would win it as they do have the easier run in on paper, but now City look in pole position again. I think Chelsea's lack of a goal scorer will prove their undoing, which makes it all the more bizarre that Mourinho didn't get on in the January window. What are Man Utd waiting for? considering there are 100 million Wii's out there and only 6 million Wii U's it's a disgrace to shut down the Wii servers at this point in time. If the majority of people had upgraded to Wii U I could swallow it. It almost seems that they are doing this to force people to buy a Wii U. I hate EA for doing this kind of shit all the time with their games and never thought Nintendo would sink the their dark arts. I can only hope that the online usage for Wii is so low that this is reason they are switching them off. If not then this is a dark day for Nintendo.

Argos also have Wii Party U for £14.99 with Black Motion + Controller. You have to scroll to page 2 of Wii U games as it also appears on page 1 at £34.99 ?????? I really want the Mario & Sonic Sochi Olympic game that comes bundled with a Blue motion+ controller but can't find it anywhere.

I'm in the @DAZybee camp, I think the Wii U is a sublime console and because I'm probably in a minority of people who did not have PS3 or 360 there are loads of brilliant games available. HOWEVER, Nintendo need to sort out the 3rd party situation pronto. If that means chucking a few £million at EA to get FIFA et al back then so be it. Mario Kart needs to be everything it can be. Voice chat is a must, but sadly impossible considering Nintendo's family values. if they would just let us have chat in private parties then that would be enough. Also, when are they going to incorporate double gamepad functionality. I will get a 2nd Wii U the moment I know me and my son can play COD or FIFA using two gamepads whilst the missus is watching some banal shite on tv. (Don't answer, I know this is dead along with tvii)
