There´s just been a shooting incident in a Finnish school.. Some news say 3 are dead and others say even 7. The sickest part is that the shooter told about the massacre beforehand on Youtube.. They´ve taken the videos down now though.. But yeah, I´m not feeling very happy.

Sorry for being being a bit late but.. Yeah we have. I´ve actually been there once years and years ago.. I read one of the Tove Jansson´s Moomin books for a school project few months ago and it had some suprisingly deep thoughts about life and things like that. It was definitely more than just a children´s fairy tale. I remember reading somewhere that that Jansson herself hated the anime series.

No, I wouldn´t say I´m a big power metal fan or anything.. I like a few bands but that´s pretty much it. I don´t remember saying I´d be a metal afficionado. I didn´t use to like Nightwish either because Tarja Turunen´s singing made my ears bleed. It kinda felt too polished for my tastes. While Anette doesn´t really do anything original, she does her job fine and doesn´t prevent me from listening the music. And the music itself, in my opinion, is quite good. No matter what your superior opinions say. But out of curiosity.... Why exactly did you listen "a mediocore album" six times?

I know we all have our own tastes but... how exactly is it formulaic? The album has an incredible song variety from these 14 min orchestral epics to simple little songs like The Islander which doesn´t actually sound like metal at all. Have you really even heard more than just the Amaranth single (especially when DPP´s release date outside Finland is today)..? It´s not a perfect album but the first one I truly like from their outputs. And it´s been getting lots of praising reviews too.

Okay, Nightwish´s Dark Passion Play must be the best metal album of the year. Never been a big Nightwish fan (I think I´ve said that before) but DPP really is awesome, and the new vocalist isn´t too bad either. I like her more than the old one. Tuomas Holopainen´s compositions are simply mad, especially the first song, The Poet and the Pendulum, which lasts frickin 14 minutes! And The London symphony orchestra on the backround makes it all even more epic. It was a nice little surprise that the album has a bonus CD which includes instrumental versions of all the songs. I like.

But the term 7/7 isn´t nearly as widely used as 9/11 and the attack didn´t have any effect on us living outside the UK, so you can´t expect everyone to recognize that. It may sound like a household term for most of you but if I asked about it from my dad for example, he probably wouldn´t know what it´s supposed to be related to.

Dunno if any of you know (or still remember) Nightwish but they recently made a comeback with a new vocalist Anette Olzen. I´ve never been a big fan of their music but here´s the latest single anyway: Sold gold in two days over here but that´s kinda expected since all of their albums have sold bazillion copies in Finland.

And in the other parts of Europe too. These Bourne movies have such a weird names here in Finland.. I mean, Bourne Ultimatum´s Finnish name is Meduusan Sinetti which literally means The Seal of the Jellyfish or something like that. I mean, wtf, does that even make any sense? Good thing movies aren´t dubbed into Finnish (except some kid´s stuff) because that´d propably make my head explode.

Great news! Hopefully they can maintain the awesome quality of the earlier seasons. I´ve been watching a lot of old eps on dvd lately because I finally got my collection completed.

The life itself, like Shorty said. Every now and then there are these moments when I wonder how an earth can I move my feet or fingers without really even thinking about it or how can my brain handle millions of bits of information and search them in fraction of a second when needed. Health is also kinda linked to this. It´s hard to appreciate how lucky you are when all is well, but after you get some disease like cancer you´d give almost anything away to get cured. Of course there are tons and tons of other things (family, all the technology, nature etc..) too but those two popped into my mind when I read the title.

Somebody thought it´d be a good idea to make a Finnish dub for this movie.. It makes absolutely no sense because there has never ever been one single dubbed Simpsons episode on Finnish tv and just about everyone here thinks subbing is a better way to go. Oh well, thank god some places will be showing the original version. Can´t wait to see that.

Order of the Phoenix: Overall pretty good and definitely the best in the series. The movie had a REALLY fast pace but some clever cutting made it not feel too akward (for the most part at least). Imelda Staunton was awesome as Umbridge. 8/10

I´ve been re-reading some of the books in English lately because I´ve mostly read them only in Finnish before. It´s also a nice way to get prepared for the last book. I really disliked Snape at first too but once you started learning more about his past and motives, the character got a lot more interesting. And yeah, Alan Rickman is a perfect fit for him in the movies.
