Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Twilight replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Whole soundtrack orchestrated? Yes please! http://boards.ign.com/revolution_lobby/b8270/105680931/p1/?95 Let it be true... -
This is what Jim Merrick said a while back: "But back to the virtual console. Merrick tells us that a number of third parties have already committed to providing their back catalogue for download, but he won't tell us their names. "I think you can guess, though," he says. "The usual suspects."

http://www.nintendojo.com/infocus/view_item.php?1135058230 "Those who were lucky enough to play Mario Kart DS against Reggie at Bellevue Square's McDonald's in Bellevue, were also treated to some new Revolution tidbits. According to Reggie, Sega is intrigued by the Nintendo Revolution's "backwards compatibility," however he stopped just short of a confirmation that classic Sega games will be included. He also stated that the Classic Controller expansion for the Revolution's controller will look similar to the GameCube's Wavebird. Although this news isn't the "surprise" everyone is waiting for, the ability to play classic Sega games would without a doubt, be a huge addition to the Nintendo Revolution."'

Oh, I didn´t see you mentioned CC. Silly me... And yep, I just had to had mention SoA.

I love the Crystal Chorincles look of Final Fantasy III. I´ve never tried the original NES game so I´m definitely looking forward to this and I quess I´ll end up buying the portable versions of IV, V and VI too... VI is my 2nd best RPG of all time (after Skies of Arcadia) and portable version should be heaven... And Stocka, Crystal Chronicles is still coming for DS and Revolution. We know nothing about them but they´re still coming.

Yeah, you can consider Nintendo products as toys if you want to. Why? Becuse Nintendo´s aim is people to have fun. I´m more worried about games than Revo´s specs. I just played some Beyond Good & Evil and realized how absolutely gorgerous that looks. But if Nintendo can´t get some good 3rd party support, future doesn´t look too bright. EDIT: That´s what I heard when DS was announced almost two years ago... Really, looks like you people always forget the fact that Nintendo is still one of the most profitable companies in the world. -
1. Zelda: Majora´s Mask - wonderful, dark and underrated experience. The feeling when you´re playing the games is something you can´t express with words. 2. Skies of Arcadia Legends - Another underrated and wonderful game. Huge and beatiful world with fantastic charatcters, music and storyline. 3. Super Mario World - This is THE platformer. 4. Zelda: The Wind Waker - Awesome visual style combined with Nintendo quality. 5. Resident Evil 4 - I can´t believe how good game this really is. Best visuals in this generation, tight controls, wonderful voice acting etc... GOTY 2005.

I quess we here in Finland are kinda lucky because we basically get every game at the same time as other Europeans (companies like EA and Sony even translate some games to Finnish like Sims and Burnout) and Nintendo actually tries to do some marketing here (just saw Mario Kart ad in some gaming mag today). Game prices are little higher than in main Europe but that´s just because of high taxes. Fortunately, Nintendo has been trying to keep system prices at same level everywhere lately. I mean, DS is 129€ like it should be, but then again, PSP costs 289€. I was also little suprised that Nintendo made a handy NWF Connection section to their Finnish site which has all the information about the service (games, FAQ, router compability list etc.). They also have pretty big booth in some gaming expos which is kinda nice. Just got to play Twilight Princess demo few weeks ago! So, I´m quite happy with Nintendo´s effort here in Finland. Of course there could be a little more marketing but it´s getting better all the time. Too bad Nintendo doesn´t treat all countries like this. Everyone should be able to enjoy Nintendo games, right?

Nothing big... But just found this from Gaming-Age Forums: Newsflash! From 4CR, they received an SMS

If I´m not mistaken, Jim Merrick and NOA have both hinted that more information on Revolution will be forthcoming on a regular basis beginning early next year. And at E3, Nintendo will propably reveal everything that they still have in store and have Revolution playable. And I still wouldn´t say Nintendo is too late. At least in Europe, Revolution has big changes to come before PS3.
-
It´s true that Cube made lost for a while after the price cut but it was just temporary. Nintendo doesn´t make unprofitable consoles. They propably would if they had as much money as Microsoft but unfortunately they don´t have.
-
Nah... Nintendo knows how to make powerful and small console with nice price tag. Just look at GameCube. It costs 99€ with controller and game but Nintendo still makes profit with it. That´s pretty amazing concidering it´s almost as powerful as Xbox. Revolution won´t be a powerhouse comperd to 360 and PS3 but games will look good. Very good. That´s my prediction.

BigTac is usually telling truth but that line-up seems almost too good to be true. I hope you´re right but I´m not getting my hopes too high. And btw, do you anything about Intelligent Systems? I find it little suspicious that they have no announced games at all in development right now...
-
In last January or February, Camelot had ad in Famitsu where they were hiring some new to people for "Next-Generation RPG experience". So, Golden Sun seems pretty possible...
-
Some good news here. In latest Famitsu´s column, Masahiro Sakurai (director of SSB and SSBM) reveals that he is the director and designer of next Super Smash Bros game for Revolution. Interestingly, Sakurai left Nintendo few years ago, joined to a new development team called Q Entertaiment (Meteos, Lumines) but looks like he still have very strong relations with Nintendo and now he´s back! :awesome: Source: Famitsu and Gaming-Age Forums. And if someone can speak Japanese, here is the original article: http://img34.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc137ℑ=59d_smash_bros_Rev.jpg

http://eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=61604 Some tidbits: - 512MB of flash memory is expandable. - Revolution´s disc drive is the first slot-based disc drive that can handle two different formats - number of third parties have already committed to providing their back catalogue for download -It is possible that you could download trailers, in-game music or demos of games that would expire in 30 days, or a game that you could share with another person - Merrick confirms that Hideo Kojima is working with Revoluton project. - "With DS, we were 14 weeks, which was the tightest Nintendo has ever been with a console launch and that was an achievement. But with Revolution, we expect to do better than that. That certainly is our goal." - Europe might not get left behind for once. It´s possible that Revolution would be launched in Europe before Japan or USA (seems very unlikely, imo)

New Revolution information! Confirmed by Jim Merrick of NoE
Twilight replied to Domstercool's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Some new tidbits from the interview: - the USB dongle will be sold at stores on europe, no online crap on revolution wifi: - there is alot of features on the board that still being discussed, some of them are: temprary game rentals before purchase, demo downloads, trailers - DS compatible with Revolution on revolution games: - third partys already have fully funtional devkits very oriented to the final product and TGS-alike controllers - let's say a football game like FIFA who is on PS3 and Xbox360 aswell, when ported to revolution they want to include newoptions like calculate the angle on free kicks tilting the controller, make driftings with quick controller movements, pointing to the screen when shooting penalty kicks, etc.. http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=69348&page=3 -
Jim Merrick: We're producing a classic-style expansion controller, based on traditional designs like the Gamecube controller. It's like a shell with a hole in the top into which you slot the freehand-style controller, and then you can play third-party ported games, and retro Nintendo games you've downloaded. Here you are.
-
I think Nintendo should guve free shell add-on with every Revolution because it needs as much supports as possible. Launch line-up would also look better with few straight ports. And remeber that the pointer's motion sensory functionality remains active even with the shell.

Developers, the media and analysts tell what they think of Nintendo's vision for the future of game control. There's some skepticism, but many are loving the idea: Click Here.
