I'm still not convinced on the benefits of this for games, but the price is at least closer to mass market. I'm curious to give it a go. I'm still far more excited for VR uses outside of games. For games, I just don't see it. Given the price, that makes me worried about the quality.

Yeah, from the get-go, Mr. Ishihara said his hope was for Pokkén to become a third pillar at Worlds. I question if it'll continue at CEO, EVO etc. (though it has a decent shot. The owner of SmashBoards is actually the tournament organizer at The Pokémon Company International, which probably is a large part of how that happened), but it may still have a Pokémon following akin to VGC. I do question its longevity beyond this year, however. How so? Bandai Namco are quite adept at developing for HD systems. Smash Bros. for Wii U, for example, was 1080p60.

Sounds like the better thing for mobile. You say Twitter and Facebook have it, but there's also a fucktonne of other apps people use that are popular i.e. Snapchat, WhatsApp, Line etc., all with similar functions but their own unique quirk. Who's to say this couldn't be one?

As a quirky communication thing. Not every app has to be a game.
