In my 17 years of experience in the press side of this industry, I can only recall ONE leak that came from the Japanese side of things (and that guy got caught and prosecuted) outside of Nikkei "reports". Compare this to the amount of leaks in western arms. It's ridiculous.

Rule one of revealing a console: Reveal it before you send dev kits to western developers.

When they did Spiky Eared Pichu, I was certain it was going to the point where a Pokémon would take aesthetic changes from the father when breeding, so the Spiky-Eared Pichu would have like a Buneary father or something. I even prepped a system that showed possible Egg Moves for each possibility. Shame that never came to be.

Release timing. Twilight Princess is as much a port of a game as say The Division is, or Assassin's Creed, or any game that is released on multiple formats. People seldom use the term port for them. Port is typically used when a game is released on a console after initial release.
