  1. Can anyone recommend something open-world, skyrim-esque I can download off the eshop? Looking for something I can fuck about in for a bit.
  2. I like Kojima, you can't doubt the sheer creativity he brings to his games, and for that he should be revered. But if he was a real movie director (as he seems to want to be) then I'd be yelling that he needs an editor. Someone to cut half the godawful dialogue (and it is especially bad in that trailer), and refine what are generally bloated games. For me his finest game is still MGS3, which is practically streamlined compared to MGS4 (which is bad game imo). Looking at this I already worry that we'll get 6 dozen systems, some good, some bad, and none of them balanced as part of the whole. To end on a good note though I love the sound of the asynchronous multiplayer. Anything dark souls inspired is good.
  3. Got through Inside in a single sitting, loved it - 4/5. Relies entirely on visual clues and atmosphere to tell the story and teach you the rules, and has no dialogue, cutscenes or text instructions whatsoever. Its gamemaking with the upmost respect for the intelligence and intuition of the player. Big recommend from me if you liked Journey. Is the sale still on? Tempted to pick up something else.
  4. Been avoiding this thread like the plague, didn't want anything ruined for me. I saw Endgame last night though, so there is no reason to fear any longer. I'll write a longer set of impressions later, but yes, its brilliant. First thing I thought though was, 'I need to see that again'. It is possibly the densest movie of all time, and I'm finding it impossible to summarize in my mind. But thinking back there were so many great moments, so much pay-off, so much character and heart. Regardless of what you think of these movies, you must recognize the achievement. Well done to everyone involved!
  5. Looks great guys, really gutted I missed that session. Will be sure to join this Thursday!
  6. I'm happy with the way this series is going purely because I called it wrong. I was convinced episodes 1-3 would be them fighting off Cersei, and 4-6 on the zombies. The way they've switched it around leads me to believe everything goes wrong in the next episode, lots of deaths, Winterfell falls, and Cersei just twists the knife. Still hoping we'll get a bit of Sean Bean before the end.
  7. Missing the game tonight to go see the Avengers. Not overly sad I'm missing it, we could get spanked.
  8. So are we going to be able to use the stage builder stages in our online arena battles?
  9. FFS aren't I a tit! I turned off the second Sterling's goal went in out of all consuming rage. Went to bed thinking city had gone through, they were going to win the whole thing and Liverpool the league, making this the worst season ever. What a lovely morning surprise.
  10. I remember having been looking forward to it since I had first about Project Dolphin. Then you had those first pictures of Smash Melee coming out, and everyone going nuts cause you could see the denim print on Mario's dungarees. When I finally got the thing home I remember just losing my mind over Rogue Squadron. Factor 5 did such an incredible job for a launch game. Anyway yeah, love the GC.
  11. Or as a new school of the Jedi. Would be great, because narratively it compels you to explore the legacy of Luke, which I would like to see. But I'm not betting money that it won't just be a 'surprise, she is a Skywalker' [please like us again] move from Disney, completely misunderstanding all that was wrong with last film.
  12. Exactly what I read into the title. Unfortunately I don't share your enthusiasm for the movie itself.
  13. @Jonnas @Glen-i sage advice as always gentleman. Chrom is sounding good (sorry I didn't chime with Shulk), but I'll need to master that counter as I've always seen it as such as bonus for the sword characters. What's really annoying Heavy wise is that I know I have the most fun playing Krool, but it feels cheap. Like I still sick with Sonic, but his ceiling feels so high and I'm getting better with him all the time. A pure skill character. Krool you can cheese a lot of games. Does Wario count as a heavy? He looks like he's tough to learn.
  14. Thank you for the heavy advice, but in the end I picked up pacman after I saw some of his combo videos (they're insane). Fun character, so much potential for mischief. Figuring out how to bring the fire hydrant into play, learning all the different items and mastering the side B are going to take a while, but I'm in now. My primary rotation after 4 months of playing looks like this: Olimar, Megaman, Sonic, G&W, Pacman Still want to pick up a Heavy and a Sword wielder.
  15. What's the plan smash brothers?
  16. I want to pick up a Heavy for my regular rotation. Who do we reckon is the most fun of the heavys to play?
  17. You post on Redcafe? Just lurk myself, it's too busy to get a proper conversation going. I'm confident we'll do some good business in the summer, but it will be a long term project and my expectations for next year are set accordingly. The only thing I'd be really disappointed with is of we don't give young Mason Greenwood some proper time before the end of the season. Top level talent that kid.
  18. Agree with everything you say there. The only reason I imagine Ole kept Young on was that Dalot is worse defensively, and he didn't want to concede anymore. At 1-0 we're still in the tie. One early goal in Catalonia and suddenly it's on. I don't know about you @Fierce_LiNk but I've been quite disappointed over the last few weeks by how quickly the good spirit amongst our (online) fans has disappeared. We need to have a little bit more faith.
  19. I was really happy with our performance last night (Utd that is). I'm still viewing everything in the context of this being a terribly put together team, with some diamonds in there. On that basis there's lots to be encouraged by. So you've got Young who was absolutely dog shit last night. Possibly the worst performance I've ever seen from a Utd Captain. But you've got to hope we'll make a big signing at right back in the summer, and suddenly we'll be so much better. Look at McTominay and Shaw last night and we have some stunning young talent in the team. Really looking forward to next year, when hopefully Solskjaer has got the team a lot fitter as well.
  20. Got a quick 20 minutes in after its downloaded and so far really enjoying it. Love the set up - your jailor is a dick and you ain't taking his shit no more. I don't need more than that. Lovely blend of gameplay styles, though I'll have to see how it develops, having only got to the second boss. Music is great, and rabbit dude is great (definite Afro Samurai nod). Very encouraging so far.
  21. Alright people the votes are in, and the inaugural game club will be: FURI!! Go spend your ill gotten gains gamers; play, enjoy, report. Throughout the next couple weeks it would be great to see some discussion and debate. I may throw out a couple discussion points later on, but for now I'm going to get stuck in myself. Have fun!
  22. On Blaster Master, it looks fantastic, but since it costs a pre sales £10 I'm going to keep it in my back pocket for when the eshop is having lean month.
  23. Won't Hellblade be like £30?
  24. Waiting for you to suggest it ya lazy git.
  25. I've heard a couple good things about it, and the boss rush element tickles me since they're always my favourite part of any game. My vote is going to the puzzle game though - it's the kind of game only an indie can create - bold, creative, different.
