Aww the crappy back country roads around here are covered in sheet ice so I can't get out anywhere. Wouldn't mind so much but there isn't enough snow here to go have good time frolics in. Dear Mr Snow cloud, if you're going to spunk all over the place then please do it properly or not at all. The cat has a cold and keeps making me jump with extremely loud sneezes. It'd be quite cute but he keeps wiping his nose all over my duvet :/

Resonance Cascade: To explain it in terms you retards might be able to understand - DO NOT PUT STRANGE ALIEN CRYSTALS INTO AN ANTI-MASS SPECTROMETER!!

Here are my top picks... Apps: Facebook - You have it. Tweetie 2 - amazing. BeeJiveIM - great messenger app. Supports msn and a few others. Shazam - You probably have this but it's so useful for identifying random cool tracks you hear in cafes and such. The official Geocaching app - Awesome, but you'd have to be into geocaching MLIA lite - Free and I love My Life Is Average. Stanza - Actually got quite a few free books on this and it's not as awkward to read on an iPhone as you'd expect. Guardian - As dazzybee said, great interface. NationalRail - For those train time disasters. RedLaser - For hunting down best deals online when out in a store, this is amazing. I also use it to scan things I want to remember that I want. PS Mobile - Free, official and crammed full of simple photoshopping features that should already be in Apple's photos app. GuitarToolkit / TabToolkit - Awesome if you have a guitar. TVGuide - TV on your iphone for Free. Woo! Flixster- obvs. 2Do - The tweetie 2 of to do apps. LOVELY interface. I actually just sit around playing with it sometimes it's so nice to use. Games: Bejeweled 2 -Blitz mode is especially addictive. Links with facebook. One day I will beat Rez's score. Catan - Im a board game geek and this is a great mobile version of settler's of catan Crosswords - Downloads new crosswords every day from a selection of newspapers. DoodleJump - SO simple but SO addictive. They're always updating it too which is nice. Galcon Labs - Excellent short (1-2 mins a time) bursts of rts multiplayer style fun. VERY worth checking out. Labyrinth 2 - The new gadgets make it so much better. An infinite amount of player made maps available to download. V Addictive. Mafia Wars - A bit shallow but it's free and get a couple of friends added and it gets quite competitive. PathPix Pro - A simple puzzle game that's perfect for iPhone. Very simple and not too taxing but it's really addictive. Check it out. Rock Band - Decent, solid mobile version. Real tracks and the correct instruments cut out if you fuck up. Canabalt - Simple, awesome, same as the flash version but it's just epic. Support indie devs and get this. Dark Nebula - Excellent futuristic labyrinth type game. Beautifully designed levels and graphics. Bit short though. Eliss - No game on the iPhone uses multitouch as well as this game. Really awesome once you get it and incredibly difficult. I wasn't even aware the iPhone was capable of more than 2 fingers multitouch until this game. Space Invaders: Infinity Gene - Gorgeously styled shooter and recently updated with more levels. Soosiz - Nice little mario galaxy style 2d platformer. Spider - Awesome game. Controls beautifully, there's a mystery behind the gameplay to solve and it's just a must buy really. Wriggle - Nice littler puzzler. Think rush hour with bendy cars. Zen Bound - GORGEOUS 3D puzzle game. Very unique. I got a little tired of the full game but you HAVE to check out the demo. Most of the apps there, especially the games, have free versions so check them out if you haven't heard of them before.

Lack of entries so I'm ending this now. WINRAR: RUNNER-UP:

I get the same feeling most of the time and I think the problem is that most games are just absolute timehogs. More so nowadays but also because I'm growing up and have a lot of other things to do. Give me more frequent, shorter, sweeter experiences like Portal or Shadow Complex at a nice price point and I'm interested. I know it's a massive investment to create the huge 3D worlds in sandbox games, so they need the game length so people will make the purchase and so they can charge £40 for it but... The GTA episodes for example were perfectly lengthed. Give the massive game world away with a shortish main mission for £20, then charge the same or less for new downloadable story episodes. Really can't be bothered with these massive 20 - 30 hour adventures any more. Also, the longer the games are, the more samey filler missions they have and such until I really can't be fucked with them and forget half the plotlines by the time I next time I revisit. Plotlines also get stretched in the massive games. Compare the quality of the GTA IV main plot to the two downloadable stories and it really doesn't come close to them. Assassin's Creed is another example. I love the overall mysterious plot but the actual in game stories bore me to death. Ezio wanders between the various parties so much that I'm finding it hard to give a shit or even know exactly why I'm killing all these people. The story is way too stretched out, purely to lengthen the game and it all leads to a huge feeling of CBA. Lately I've been getting much more gaming joy from short, sweet iPhone games at a killer price point. That's not to say I've turned into a casual gamer. You can do short, deep, hardcore gaming experiences. There just aren't many around.

Yeah, definitely wouldn't say it's all over for third place just yet. You've got an almost guaranteed win next match. I'm not too confident with my away against Domstercool as a lot of my players aren't on form. If you win that and I lose, we'll be drawing on points but you've got a significantly better goal difference. Could all come down to our last match against each other which would be good.

Dayum! Just checked this out on Amazon and that is one sweet looking boxset! Very jealous.

Yeah, thought I'd lose that one. Still pretty tight up top though. Not looking forward to Friday's away match against the Munchers. If they beat me they'll knock me out of the promotion zone.

Thanks peeps. That's good to know about BSG. I was afraid it might turn a little 'Lost' with some fairly mundane flashback "mysteries" but glad to hear that it's all justified and equals awesome. Tis good that they don't ignore what happened in the previous year but at the same time don't concentrate on it. That's exactly what I was hoping for as usually shows go one way or the other. Now you've all just made me a hell of a lot more impatient until I can afford the season 3 boxset! Bastards! Re: Misfits, STILL haven't watched the final episode. No chance of streaming/torrenting it on my connection (restrictive AND slow) and the forum/site I usually acquire these things from has disappeared from the face of the earth. Yeah I think I too was spoiled on here about some character appearing in the final episode actually? Sounded pretty minor though from the little I read.- 3920 replies

Battlestar Galactica Season 2 Finale zomgwtfbbqrotfb&q! Game changer or what? ('what' is not an option) Right now I'm thinking it was a great ep but not sure I'm gonna like the change when season 3 starts. I've got a bit of a problem with shows doing the whole '1 year later and everything has changed' finale thing. It usually comes off as an easy way to 'reset' a show. Hopefully there are episodes or flashbacks that fill in the gap a little. Can anyone confirm that it's justfied without any spoilers at all?- 3920 replies

Drawing with the top of my league in points at the moment. Trouble is, facing them away tomorrow. Don't think I have a hope in hell.

First, thanks peeps for all the congratumalations from before Flameh, I wouldn't dismiss her completely over text. There'll always be one of you that'll be a little more eager than the other and in this case it's her. She does sound a bit crazy but as Nightwolf said, she could easily just be nervous. Also, how old has she said she is? And have you actually asked her her age rather than just gone from what she says on her profile. With her being so text heavy so soon, it does seem like she could be quite young. I've ended up speaking to a couple of 16/17 year olds on those sites by mistake as they put themselves as 18/19 just because it won't let them on otherwise. And they've been the same, a little over-eager. So yeah, ask her her age. I wouldn't push it if she still says what's on her profile. I mean she probably is legit, it's just always worth checking. And just meet up in a public place for a coiiiiffee or something. I wouldn't back out after just 5 minutes like others have said. I met another girl before the current one and within 5 minutes I thought "WHAT A FUCKING FREAK - ABORT ABORT!" but it was just because we were both being awkward in individual ways. After about 20 minutes we chilled and although it was pretty clear after that time that she wasn't 'the one for me', things did get better and we've ended up being decent mates. If priority one for you is just getting out with some new people then that would still be a win for thee. It's never as bad as you think it's going to be, try and remember that! Good luck!

Whoop. Came yesterday. Already on the last episode. I frakking love this show. My only disappointment is I don't have enough cash to buy season 3 just yet.

ReZourceman's 2009 Cinema Movie Review Event
SPAMBOT4000 replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
Right, think I'll do mine. Shouldn't take too long as I didn't see many movies at all this year Slumdog Millionaire The very definition of "Overhyped". It was alright but not the movie I wanted to see. As someone else said, too much destiny crap and cheesiness. I really don't mind cheesy films as long as they're aware of it but I think this thought it was something more. I was impressed by Dev but only in comparison to his performance on Skins. It wasn't as stand out as it was made out to be. I thought the millionaire question plot integration with his life story was going to be a bit cleverer than it ended up being. I thought that part was a great idea that they could have done more with. A bit too long. 6.5/10 Watchmen As a fan of the comic, (or 'graphic novel' if you must) I loved this. Such a perfect film recreation of a book. There were SO many shots that I just instantly recognised and I completely geeked out over it. I can see why he changed the ending but I am NOT a fan of the film version. I did get the feeling though that if you hadn't read the comic then you could be a bit confused about some of the plot. I think it jumped about all over the place which certainly confused my non-geek mate a little. That said, he still enjoyed it. 8.5/10 Half Blood Prince Alright. Big fan of the books and I'm rarely a fan of movie versions of any book so it was never going to be amazing in my eyes. I don't see the need to make films of perfectly good novels as my imagination is way better than anything than they can produce on screen. Obviously there are a few exceptions but this wasn't one of them. That said, as Rez mentioned, Malfoy was excellent and is the clear stand out in the cast. He's grown the most as an actor by far and that's been interesting to follow. 5/10 Moon I wanted to like this SO much and I did but... it felt about an hour longer than it actually was. Really seemed to drag, could have been just how I was feeling on the day so I'd be willing to give it another chance. It felt like the whole film existed for the twists and turns but I seemed to 'get' everything right near the beginning and spent the entire film waiting to be surprised which... I wasn't AT all. 6.5/10 Star Trek Great! Excellent and clever reboot. Very much enjoyed it. God bless JJ Abrams. 9/10 Bruno Funny. Not as clever as Borat though and I'd seen most of the best 'punchlines' from the trailer. I think it relied a little too much on the crude LOL COCKS, GAYS, NAKED MEN, AND BITCHINESS gags though. Sacha Baron Cohen is funniest when he's doing the clever subversive shit. 6/10 Up Stunningly beautiful. Very moving. Very funny. Pixar at their best. 9/10 Avatar Absolutely adored this film. I know the plot's a little obvious and the villain is a little over the top but I just loved every single second. Can't wait for the dvd release. 9.5/10 I think I've seen a few more than that but I just went by what others have on their lists to jog my memory. It wouldn't have been anything stand out. Definitely saw some absolutely atrocious films around the time of Up because I kept getting pissed off that my friends wouldn't go see Up but wanted to see utter shit. Also got a bit bored of writing half way through! -
Haha yeah, I had to check wikipedia too actually just to check I had the correct word and that first sentence confused the fuck out of me! This is what I was going for... "In modern language, the word "sermon" can also be used pejoratively in secular terms to describe a lengthy or tedious speech delivered with great passion, by any person, to an uninterested audience."
-
Haha you're really not doing that victorian rapist reputation any favours.

Ah thanks Nah, I thought it was one of the better questions we've had actually. Lack of entries was probably just because of Christmas/New Year. Things you wouldn't hear a priest say while delivering a sermon

Haha thanks guys, nice to know you were rooting for me :p
