  1. I want a Japanese WiiU because I am studying Japanese and this would greatly aid me in mastering the language. Perhaps I might get a Japanese handheld down the road, because I really would like to befriend you guys and take part in the Mario Kart 8 league, of course. I think I'll be giving it a bit more thought.
  2. I really have a dilemma on my hands. I'm not sure whether I should get a Japanese WiiU or a European one. Curse you NINTENDO and your region locking!!!!
  3. I wonder, I really wonder. Personally, I don't expect much from his new 'IP', because of his focus during the Wii years. Though I do still think that he can create something magical gameplay wise. Something inspired by his involvement in his neighbourhood perhaps. Something to rival Animal Crossing
  4. There's a Staryu in a pokéball: peace: But perhaps his presence is in jeopardy too...
  5. The purple and white pikmin will be in Pikmin 3. Can't find the source but Miyamoto said this.
  6. I'm always so confused when I do a bit of reading in this thread. I'm not sure who is female or male and who swings for the same team and who doesn't.
  7. Have you considered Iceland? I've heard that it is truly magical.
  8. Most people who I have encouraged to play a game who really aren't gamers usually always struggle with the controls. It takes them a lot of time to understand the mechanics and usually blame the game for bad controls and whatnot. I always 'learn' the game, instead of dismissing it, but certainly some people don't have the patience for it.
  9. Huge fan, HUUUUUGE fan of the series since I played the New Play Control games. It's the perfect game to play after you've had a busy day. Just brew some tea and enjoy the environments. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get a WiiU (hopefully in the summer months) but when I do, this is the game I want with it!
  10. Stop running and it will grow back
  11. I'm also going through this, because a friend gave his copy to me for free As a passionate lad on all things Mario RPGs, I am struggling to wrap my mind around what I am actually playing here. Am I playing a Mario RPG or am I playing a platformer? It's really quite strange, because Super Paper Mario had a huge platforming vibe, obviously, but it still felt more Paper Mario to me because of all the crazy characters and dimensions and plot twists etc etc... Paper Mario: Sticker Star is just, ....just, ....uhm.... a bit bare bones. It's such a shame that there aren't any more characters then the toads to interact with (mind you, I have yet to venture into the 3rd World) and that there's so little dialogue to go around When it's there, it's pretty funny and clearly shows that the writing&translation of the series has remained as brilliant as ever, it's just that there's so little... The sticker system is okay, and I respect the developers for trying to shake things up a bit, but there's still something quite off about it and doesn't feel as satisfying as the fighting system in The Thousand Year Door. I do really like the objects from our world becoming attacks though and the collecting of them really reminds me of Pikmin. Then there's the music, SWEET JESUS! Makes up for nearly all the flaws! God it's good, SWEET GOD IT'S GENIUS! So catchy, and sets the tone really well! I still have a long way to go, but, as it stands now, it is definitely my least favourite Paper Mario, whilst still being a joy to play, but it's also the most papery Paper Mario which I really like I guess I was right on the money when thinking that I shouldn't buy this at full price.
  12. So some dutch stores apparently have this stuff as a pre-order bonus.
  13. Olimar is in Pikmin 3, he plays some role, maybe you free him near the end of the game or something and he becomes playable... Still, it's quite likely that some of the new characters in stead of Olimar will replace him, or they'll be different skins, or they'll work together. @nintendofan16 I totally agree, I think the Zelda-series have produced a good handful of characters which can have unique movesets in the last few games: - Midna riding Wolf Link - Ghirahim - Skyward Sword style Impa - Zant - that balloon/clown guy from Skyward Sword and/or Twilight Princess - Perhaps Demise in some form.... - Groose
  14. Oeh, looks like we might be able to organise a Dutch-meet finally
  15. Seeing Luigi with the Toads was definitely a highlight for me. It was all portrayed so well; what Luigi said to them, how the Toads looked up to him and how they went crazy when there were ghosts around. And their faces when you held them with your Poltergust, ....THOSE HAPPY FACES. Villager eat your heart out Keep an eye open for the Luigi's Mansion 2 Online thread, for Kaepora Gaebora and myself want to go through more modes with more Luigi's
  16. I gotta say, I'm lovin' it. All this passion, all this fervent talk, all this zeal. I think that a shift of perspective has taken place in people who experience NINTENDO consoles and NINTENDO games, but also experience the amazing output on Microsoft and especially Sony their respective consoles. Once the PS3 started picking up steam, and also before then, games started coming out that were on a whole other level than NINTENDO's own output. By now there is a very clear distinction between NINTENDO games and games from Sony and Microsoft and a good handful of 3rd parties, and some just can't go back anymore after having tastes the riches of massive-grand-epicness with a hint of awesomecreamer. I'd say certain people prefer the type of epicness and 'games as art' kind o' vibe one gets from The Last of Us/GTAV/Skyrim/Uncharted/Bioshock/etc... than the gameplay focused games NINTENDO puts out. I mean, the former really try to approach storytelling and whatnot as if it were a movie, and with a realistic tone to it. NINTENDO usually talks about putting a fun gameplay experience at the foreground which brings a smile to your face, and that most certainly puts games in a much more 'games = entertainment' corner. Neither is bad or good, because, as is the case with almost everything in this world, 't is all subjectivity. Whether you like playing as Missingno. in the most glitchy adventure ever or playing through a grand American epic we've seen a million times in the cinema already like the Last of Us (not a fan), one's tastes are one's tastes. Then you have that lovely debate about new IPs which again is the bitch of subjectivity. I can understand both sides. Whilst Miyamoto has a point that new characters + new world does not equal a new IP instantly, I can see that for some people (myself included) the act of exploring a new world with its own new lore and characters is somewhat of a new 'gameplay mechanic'. And of course it doesn't really help seeing 'gameplay innovations' such as a cat suit in the new 3D Mario and NINTENDO marketing the fuck out of it as if its some kind of milestone. I honestely think that if they perhaps fleshed out that cat idea, NINTENDO could've come up with their own take on something like Mirror's Edge. Granted though, I must say that most NINTENDO games, and especially Mario games, are packed with neat little touched, fresh ideas and unique ways to jump, slash, or fuck around. It's just that, when compared to the grandeur of games on the other consoles, it feels so tiny. But again, I don't really care I love NINTENDO for what they do and what they could do in the future, and I love Sony for their own unique way of showing what games are about. And Microsoft, well, .... they also have awesome games on their console:grin: Fact is, NINTENDO is too important for a lot of people to not have some form of a relationship with. Because, of course, most of us were nurtured by the teat of a NES, SNES, N64 or GameBoy.
  17. Damn, she out-dutched me Game on, Mrs. Stache!

  19. The icing on the cake would be if they also gave K.K. Slider lyrics Mind you, haven;t got the club yet, so if this is true, awesome-sauce!
  20. Kapp'n has been fleshed out in such an incredibly bad-ass way His words of wisdom are such a damn treat!
