What the hell am I doing there in the sky? What's going on here?

They could bundle in a squid-like headphone!

Yeah, it probably does, and whether or not you get the full boost at the start. But because the coins really make a difference especially in the beginning. That's why I also always go for coins first, especially when I'm starting 1st and have 0 coins.
-
It's funny because I notice that, because those people more in the back have more coins than the front of the group in the beginning, the ones in the back usually get a little bit of a head start, get the items and those who were first at first get fucked over and get sucked up into the pack.

I must say that the item balance makes for a whole now set of rules and strategies, just like with every other Mario Kart. Trying to avoid that crowd at certain points really pays off I've notices.

I'd be pretty sad to see Capcom games going exclusively to some platform that I don't have though.

The Twist: Konami buys them and locks all of their franchises in the vault of no return.

You know, at this rate, Captain Falcon will be the 'revived character of an old franchise' so to speak...

That Gary riding a Spearow!

Look at you, playing games with my heart

Yup, lighter characters and look at the acceleration stat when you select the parts for your vehicle.

Technically everything the Treehouse showed was new to us. We got exclusive looks at demos which showed things we didn't know anything about such as the mech in Bayonetta 2, that bitchin' Moon attack in Hyrule Warriors or the vastness of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

You need to have enough speed in order to drift, thus it's hard to drift straight away when you get hit by lightning.

Still can't believe I can drive as Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach. It's like NINTENDO heard my cries all these years!
-
I'll also be in Japan in August for a while, but tell me about this charging problem, because I've yet to look into the whole plug/volt/socket shenanigens that comes with traveling abroad.

I guess he finally overdosed on too much Zelda.

NINTENDO has a whole different philosophy when it comes to making an AAA game than Sony and Microsoft and most 3rd Party studios. It's not really a problem for me though, but I feel like some franchises like Metroid, F-Zero and Star Fox (basically the big space franchises) could really benefit from.....well from taking a look at for example the game that was posted a few posts up. And that isn't even made by people known for AAA games. Metroid and Star Fox should totally take a look at No Man's Sky and F-Zero, well, F-Zero could do with a neo-light sci-fi techno city to drive around in. Having said this though, I have faith in NINTENDO that the game will be fun, but with Miyamoto at the helm of the project I doubt it will be an epic adventure like game. It will probably be mission based and fragmentated instead of a true space-adventure. I hope not though.

For a start they could tackle this: Yes, I can definitely see them adding things to this game. I wonder what the Amiibo will bring to the table and I can see NINTENDO hosting some competitions and challenges like they did with Mario Kart Wii. What I really hope though is a mode that uses the Upad in an interesting way for Co-oP play.

Yes, he said this in an interview, but I guess more jokingly and not in a 'Year of Luigi' kind of way.

Well, thanks for setting the bar that high. It's all downhill from here I guess....

I don't know, it's kind of bad for my health to have a game which I have to check daily or else I will get punished for it in the form of villagers hating me and weeds and stuff.... I'd rather have something more defined like Fantasy Life with more 'gamelike' things to do. I am sooo looking forward to going on Quests with you guys in that cutesy Level-5 World.

Right, so first impressions time. The game is a visual spectacle. I kept falling off some tracks because I was so busy looking at the environment. I need to get used to the handling of the karts and bikes, but the bikes seem to have really changed this time 'round. Some drift quite awkwardly. Speaking of drifting, I also need to get re-acquainted with this mechanic because I seem to go in too early a lot of times. Looking for that perfect combo of Wheels, Body and Glider I guess. Music, phenomenal! Now I must say that the game is, indeed, rather bare bones. Clearly all of the effort has gone into the tracks and Mario Kart TV, and the core of Mario Kart 8 is definitely the racing aspect of it and that gets a 10 out of 10 from me. However, similar to Mario Kart 7, the core is pretty much perfect, but there isn't a lot of content supporting this perfect core. I can really see NINTENDO throwing some DLC at this game in the form of tracks, characters and even different modes, perhaps even for free. The Upad not being utilised for a Double Dash-ish mode is a crime. During a race I had it all figured out in my head. It could be an incredible kind of multiplayer co-op game in which one drives and the other is in the back using items, shooting ink, taking pictures, doing all kinds of quirky NINTENDO stuff either in a dedicated mode or during the core of the game. Imagine a mini-game in which the player sitting in the back has to take a photograph of the head of its opponents! Would make for some great fun in arenas. Or a mode in which the dude in the back has to shoot at Nabbit or something... NINTENDO could do so much more with this franchise to add to its value and they know it, so I really REALLY hope there will be some extra content coming. For now, that extra content for me is the N-Europe League and, unlike some, I have yet to lose hope in the online aspect of the game. The few races I did parttake in online were alright and didn't really suggest a gimped item experience. BUT HOLY SHIT IF THIS IS HD NINTENDO THEN I AM ON BOARD! MOUNT WARIO IS IT!

Happy B-Day, Boss!

Well, Evolve, The Evil Within and Battlefield: Hardline launch on my birthday thus implying they want me back on the Sony side of things. But I say NO! Fantasy Life all the way! I wanted to buy this game instead of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but since it took so long I fucked up and bought that curse. Now I might just consider doing something I pretty much never do: selling a game (Animal Crossing) and using the money to get another one. This time it's justified though, for I never intented to buy Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I was tricked into it!
