  1. They seem to be at the Rocket Hideout, so...they've beaten at least 3 gyms already? #hesuschrist
  2. Nah, Peeps won it along with Biggest Wankface.
  3. Yeah, I wonder what's going on with the Wii U VC as well. The 3DS one is getting bombarded with awesome releases like Ninja Gaiden, but the Wii U one is updating so damn slowly and mostly with just Nintendo games. Either they have some serious problems with the emulation or maybe the 3rd parties just aren't interested in the Wii U VC either? Seems really weird...
  4. Yeah, I think the forums would work much better in local mp. Should be no problem gathering everyone in one place every day! #worksfornintendo #worksforus
  5. Well, it might not be my cup of tea, but the game does look good.
  6. Renegade! Would that mean that we'll be getting Target: Renegade at some point too? The soundtrack in that is brutal, pure 8-bit ass-kicking to the max...
  7. Yeah, they were supposed to be revealed this month but then Iwata came and "PLEASE UNDERSTAND" and now they're TBD 2015 with no online multiplayer.

    Mario Kart 8

Yeah, the Gamexplain one is great. Now the levels look even cooler, going up and down a waterfall ftw!
  9. I'd say a part of why 8-/16-bit graphics are still so popular is that when properly done, they actually look great. Just look at games like Terraria, or older titles like Yoshi's Island. Pure, ageless 2D art. 3D games are more problematic, since the comparison to modern games makes the earlier variants look quite ugly / too basic. Depends on the game idea though, just look at Minecraft...
  10. Looks great!
  11. Well, I wouldn't call it a waste because they seem to be getting all out of the franchise, but just bad timing. The Wii U catalogue is already saturated to the max with platformers, so using a high quality team to push out another one feels rather misplaced. Especially when there are still other platformers coming out, like Kirby and Yoshi...

    Mario Kart 8

Well, let's be honest, I really don't expect anything spectacular from the online. Nintendo's online vision even with the Wii U has been "really basic" so far, so big sudden changes are highly unlikely to happen. I'd predict that the online is a bit better than in MK7, i.e. the same custom groups with some really minor adds. Communicating with other players via proper text or even voice chat? Wouldn't hold my breath for that...
  13. Seems to be the preliminary round still, last matches tomorrow. Sweden's the only team that has a guaranteed spot in the quarterfinals. Women's hockey team got kicked out of the medal games already, unfortunately... Ha, yeah everyone was wondering how you guys were left out of the top 3 in the women's ski relay. I take you have gotten other medals from cross-country skiing / biathlon though?
  14. Finland only has 2 silver medals so far, from women's snowboarding and ski relay. Men's hockey against Canada tomorrow, it's gonna be quite a match...
  15. 16,726+ people playing the same game of Pokemon simultaneously... http://t.co/4cuWCU5yOT
  16. English voices > Japanese ones in Xenoblade. #jobwelldone
  17. I think he's a perfect fit for the game, just like Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Mega Man. Looking good so far!
  18. Yeah, I'd say 2015. Would take a grain of salt with Smash Bros coming out in 2014 as well...
  19. @Retro_Link That's what I thought about Xenoblade too, wasn't that interested when I saw the screens and so on. I'm not a fan of RPGs as they're usually awfully long-winded, have stupidly slow combat etc. Xenoblade is the exception though: it's more of an action rpg of sorts, because the combat is actually fun and real-time, and the whole game has so much polish and innovation that any "traditional" rpg feels awfully outdated in comparison. Even if you hate rpgs, I'd say give it a try. Total diamond of a game...
  20. True. But personally, I just got sick and tired of repeating the same complaints, especially when nothing is happening. It doesn't seem to matter if you complain or not, things remain the same. It's insane to just keep on bashing your head against the brick wall and hope and hope something happens. Accept and move on, or at least start sending those angry letters directly to Nintendo, that might actually change something. Of course we want to see Nintendo make the moves, but it's not happening. Empty promises after empty promises, they clearly were not ready for this situation. If the schedule was full of 3rd party support, the launch dates of their own games would not be anything to whine about. But it's not. It seems they banked on the gamepad selling like hotcakes and thus automatically drawing in the 3rd parties to support the machine, just like with the Wii. But nope, just the opposite happened. Risky / lazy strategy which didn't work out, and now we're in the situation that we are. They're alone, and not ready to pump out a console's full of content. It sucks for the consumer, but no amount of whining is magically gonna transform that, because the capacity simply isn't there. Also, the 3DS is doing just fine, but it also has a lot of 3rd party support and lots of VC titles as well. So it's not like we're dealing with total incompetence here, but something with the Wii U just went wrong and there's no easy magic fix. #imo
  21. Yep. I think I have all of the Nintendo consoles in some form except for the Virtual Boy, and I've always been impressed and happy about the machines except for now. The console itself is great, but the variety just isn't there, what can you do... About the GBA and DS on the Wii U, that's probably just a last-minute effort to try and get something on the console. I still don't get why not just flesh out the NES and SNES sections with a faster pace, but maybe it's licensing issues or something. Do the publishers, apart from Capcom, even want their games on the Wii U VC?
  22. @Retro_Link Did you play Xenoblade? I thought the gameplay was really boring too until I tried it. It's brilliant.
  23. Yeah of course, but it's just that the negativity gets pretty tiring after a while. And it must suck for people who don't have other options right now, but I'm just saying that maybe they should start considering them...I mean there's only so much Nintendo can do on their own. Yes, the situation might be their own fault, but they just can't magically turn into games like that. It is what it is. Same here. I haven't really played anything else than Monster Hunter on it either, and that was in the Spring / Summer. Thus why I'd say a price cut is sorely needed, because there's no basis for buying a machine this expensive for such a limited catalogue of games. Although, whether a price cut is even possible, I have no idea...
