  1. It's Jim! Legendary forum members coming back is beautiful.
  2. ...I think you'll find that "most of society's problems" are caused by people who like sport, if only because the majority of people do. But honestly... how many problems am I causing society by taking part in no sports?
  3. That's quite good, I liked the chapter on memory, especially the method of loci. Don't believe everything he says though - he even says in the introduction that he may be fooling the reader at points. (yes, I'm aware there's an implicit Epimenides pardox in what I just said)
  4. Continue, but remember arguing is not beautiful. Debating can be, but I wouldn't advise it here.
  5. More from Astroboy copying Bambi to be honest. Anyway, in anime, larger eyes mean you are more emotional. This explains why girls have larger eyes than girls. (and why Westerners have smaller eyes as we are emotionless bastards )
  6. The thing is, all of those things are generally misunderstood, as they are all based on normal curves and designed to cater for 90% of the population. The problem with this method is that 90% of people do not need 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, and similarly RDA's are only roughly quoted and many people would be fine having more than the RDA. This is thanks to government manipulation of statistics to confuse people for the purposes of propaganda. However, when it comes to smoking, anyone who does it is statistically more likely to die earlier. However, this doesn't mean it'll defintely kill everyone who smokes, and you also have a point - there are other equivalents which are considered more socially acceptable. ('tis "hear, hear")
  7. Provided it'll make money, they really don't give a damn whether or not they "tarnish the name of the series".
  8. Ever seen how anime depicts caucasians? It's rather amusing.
  9. You know it's all about kids crying as robots sink into lava. Anyway, I still haven't seen the original, I should do so some time. The second was great, but the third was... not so great. It was a bit of fun though.
  10. I remember thinking this was silly when I first heard about it... I mean, terminator is all about being set in the "now", and I can't imagine what happens in the future being all that interesting.
  11. Read the topic again... I'm athletically unable to be good at sport, but that's not the reason that, for example, I don't like watching football. I suppose I also have few tribal instincts.
  12. It varies a fair bit... for example: ...and that's only from shows I like.
  13. Within this thread, you can post anything you like that you consider to be beautiful, whatever it may be. I shall start with a Nabokov excerpt: "It was necessary to shut the window: rain was striking the sill and splashing the parquet and armchairs. With a fresh, slippery sound, enormous silver specters sped through the garden, through the foliage, along the orange sand. The drainpipe rattled and choked. You were playing Bach. The piano had raised its lacquered wing, under the wing lay a lyre, and little hammers were rippling across the strings. The brocade rug, crumpling into coarse folds, had slid partway off the piano’s tail, dropping an opened opus onto the floor. Every now and then, through the frenzy of the fugue, your ring would clink on the keys as, incessantly, magnificently, the June shower slashed the windowpanes. And you, without interrupting your playing, and slightly tilting your head, were exclaiming, in time to the beat, “The rain, the rain… I am go-ing to drown it out….†But you could not. Abandoning the albums that lay on the table like velvet coffins, I watched you and listened to the fugue, the rain. A feeling of freshness welled in me like the fragrance of wet carnations that trickled down from everywhere, from the shelves, from the piano’s wing, from the oblong diamonds of the chandelier." Now it's your turn... posts taking the piss will be deleted. And as a general rule, avoid stuff that you have created.
  14. I finally found a shop selling Wispas, so I bought one and consumed it. Now I am pleased.
  15. Hmm, I'd say the main one for me is first person shooters. Edit: Also cars, good point Shino.
  16. The only alteration necessary is to remove the "that could"... it's just a typo really.
  17. ...I might get one of these: (yes, that's 48 bars, costing £24) Hmm, not sure. It may be the only way if I continue to fail at finding them in shops.
  18. They can't choose their attractiveness either.
  19. I propose we experiment on you! But wait, that's no good, we already know the outcome.
  20. Then why do I see an infraction button for you but not for admins?
