Lucky Number Slevin Saw this today, and because it has been out for some time now, I was naturally the only person to attend it at that particular showing. I was a bit late to it aswell, and when I walked the film already started, so I guess that shows that even if no-one turns up tot the film, It plays anyway. Anyway, back to the film. If you liked Snatch, you'd love this; it's sort of like that, but more serious. Very clever plot, rich cinematography and a well thought out script. An all round awesome flick. 9/10 Big Fish Very Bizzare, yet heart warming, and as clichéd as it sounds, the script itself was almost magical. Well shot and emotional and all, but got a bit dull from time to time. 7/10

I ain't going on holiday this year. Instead, my Mom and Dad, while I stay home and revise for AS. YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! As for funny holiday memories, I suppose I always remember Turkey, mainly because that country is full of eccentics. This one guy pointed at me and then fondled his crotch as if it were normal to do that. Ah, those were the days. I may post more memories later.

The Soprano's has a pretty funky theme. Never really took notice of the actual show, despite recommendations, but I always like the theme tune. Also, someone was bound to say it eventually, but Cheers

The Killing Fields Probably one of my favourite films. It's an emotional real life story set during Pol Pot's regime, and it's just completely commendable on it's acting and cinematography, and had an awesome ending. 9/10

Not to any old tramp. I sometimes do to Big Issue sellers or buskers (whether they're poor or not) or bums who do something like that, even if they might spend it on booze or drugs. It's their money after all.

I'm also a fan of Toy Story, and is in fact one of my favourite films ever. I don't know why; there's just something about it that makes it (and it's sequal) almost magical. The Jungle Book was pretty good as well. Some catchy songs there.

Giu la Testa/Fistful of Dynamite/Duck, You Sucker/Once Upon a Time in the Revolution/C'era una volta la rivoluzione Sergio Leone's forgotten film stuck in his 'Once upon a time' trilogy, but it's a brilliant, emotional movie, and vastly underrated, if a little slow towards the end. 8/10

My all time favourite is 'The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger. I'm not a great man for literature myself, but this book had a hold on me (and many others) by the strength of the main character who spirals down into a mental breakdown. I won't go into detail, but it's a good read I'm also interested in this book called 'The Scarlet Letter' by Nathanial Hawthorne I'm reading in English, about this woman who had an affair, and is punished for it by a hypocritical puritan soceity. Oh yeah, and the Bible aswell

Nah, it's OK, I think I got something like that somewhere. Anyway, to add to this list, anything from 'The Wall'.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Monopolyman replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I don't know. I always thought that one of the beautys of the LOZ saga was that there was no definate structure to the timeline, and it was generally up to personal interperation, except OOT. -
That's the best use of a cheesy grin at the end of a sentence I've ever seen. U2 are a surprisingly good source for depressing music. I especially recommend 'Running to Stand Still' and 'Kite'. Also 'Tired of You' and 'Razor' by Foo Fighters, and 'Everybody Hurts' by REM (An obvious on, but for a reason).

Jeez, I haven't bought anything music related since the end of last year. There's a couple of CD's I might buy in the near future though, but anyway the last three I got were: Kings of Leon- A-Ha Shake Heartbreak Foo Fighters- One by One Oasis- Don't Believe the Truth

Chemical Brothers- Galvanise

Official thread, where I think tere is link ther already. Anyway, It's alright, but the most impressive one has to be the guy who finished it in one hour, getting all 70 stars and using no glitches.

Zelda delayed to Autumn and Rev confirmed for 2006
Monopolyman replied to penic99's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Bah! I don't mind waiting, but I always wanted Twilight Princess to be a GC title. I still probably is, but it looks as if it it'll be on the revolution. -
I was also excited about that thread when I first saw that thread, as well as other such threads which are about rather boring bands. Also similar, cool thread titles which turn out to be about wrestling (although some people do put WWE at the start of the title), which doesn't really interest me. So anyway I agree with you. Though maybe we should have an official thread instead.

Changed it slightly.

Almost fucking all of them! The only ones I don't mind are ones which are just abbreviations of normal speak e.g. IMO. And FTW aswell, for some reason. I dislike all others.

I can't believe that it's half way through February 2006 and there has been no thread about upcoming films this year. So, basically, what the title says, what films are you looking forward to this year. This is my list, with sequals first... Casino Royale- The next Bond movie, as you all know, but this time it's apparantly going back to it's roots. No gadgets and no OTT CGI. Looking forward to it. Superman Returns- I wasn't initially looking forward to this, but seeming as Lex Luthor is being played by no other than Kevin Spacey (The finest actor in Hollywood imo), I might just go and see this. The Passion of the Clerks- or Clerks II. I haven't seen all of the first one yet, but from what I've seen from it, and the trailer to this, this looks like I'll be going to see it Capote- Out next week, about a guy who while researching on a murder, forms a relationship one of the killers. Across the Universe- A little known film now but by the time it's out I think will be really popular, and is actually my most anticipated of the year. Set amongst the anti-Viet war protests in the 1960's, the film spans the world and societies for stories about protests and civil rights. The most appealing part of this film, however, is the Beatles songs which are going to be played in the movie which will reflect the period of the movie. The Fountain- Although little is known about the film, It looks interesting. It spans 1000 years and involves a fountain (surprisingly). View the trailer; it's amazing. The Departed- A Scorsese film, which is the english language remake of a foreign film, which was apparantly very good. Should prove intersting. Find Me Guilty- Don't be put off by the fact Vin Diesel plays the lead role, he might do good. Anyway, this is the latest, and probably one of the last from Sidney Lumet, who I think is one of the most underrated directors ever (He directed 12 Angry Men, Dog Day Afternoon and Network). A real life story of a mobster who defended himself in court. Pretty interested in that field and Lumet knows his court room dramas, so this could be one of the films of the year.

Why do so many people complain about the smell of smoke anyway. My Dad smokes quite heavily, and I occasionally have to sit next to him with smoke blowing directly in my face, yet my dad doesn't smell of smoke, and I haven't had any complaints, either. Maybe I'm just under differant circumstances for me. I couldn't have put it better myself really. I understand banning it in most public areas, but, like I said before, some pubs and clubs are designed to fit smokers, and should be allowed to say if they can smoke inside or not.
