  1. Aah I figured it could be to do with development studios. Oh well. Everyone go back to enjoying the thread :p
  2. I was going to complain but I appreciate it's an established game series that sells pretty well and I must remember that Pokemon has a bigger kids audience than any other Nintendo franchise. It makes me wonder though, what numbers did Pokemon Snap do? All I ever hear is people pining for a return of that game but instead we keep getting Rumble and Mystery Dungeon. Again, I can see why, sales and all that, but why can't we get some of the other quality titles too? (Genuine ignorant question, I'm not trying to be snarky :p)
  3. Yeah, 32gb is a joke but 8gb is just unbelievable. Then again, everything about the Wii U seems a bit backward :p The fact that most of us on here have had to go out of our way to buy a harddrive ourselves, looking for Y-Cables and all that lark just shows how awkward the system is. And they're probably just getting rid of excess stock, I'm sure they stopped making the 8gb consoles over a year ago.
  4. Got a boxed Wii Mini today for £42. Was pretty happy as it came with the red Wiimote plus and nunchuck but the stars inside were still working so added another 1200 stars to my account
  5. Can you play without the gamepad switched on? I manage to play Mario Kart and Smash fine but the Wii U won't even let me open NSMBU or Sonic without saying 'please turn on Wii U Gamepad to open software'
  6. not a big deal. As you guys have said, it's pre-recorded so he'll no doubt be in the direct and being an American show anyway there's plenty of familiar NOA faces to keep the Nintendo presence felt.
  7. They have sold well considering they're on Wii U but they've done sweet FA to push more consoles. As far as I know, the Wii U STILL hasn't broke the 10 million mark. Don't get me wrong, the attatch rate for Mario Kart is incredible, especially as I'm not aware of any console bundles with the game, but it's still miles away from what has been achieved with Mario Kart DS and Wii and no doubt cost a lot more to make than those titles. I think the hope was that Mario Kart would really push the console, but it was generally only people that already owned a Wii U that bought it. And long list of releases? You must be joking. What have we had so far this year? Kirby and Captain Toad. Thank god Yoshi and Splatoon will FINALLY be released soon. Some of your points are valid, but I feel as though you defend Nintendo blindly. The release lists and DLC as of late are what put doubt in my mind as to how long the Wii U has left more than anything else.
  8. Put the new battery in my GamePad and still nothing. Damn you Nintendo, your hardware quality has nose-dived since the DS Lite era. I really don't have the enthusiasm to get it replaced. It's the time and effort more than anything. Is it too much to ask to just buy a new damn replacement controller? (Yes, apparently)
  9. Only noticed I could choose more than one after I did it else I'd have added Smash and Wind Waker to that list. My vote goes to DK though, one of my favourite ever platformers and that's saying something as I've played MASSES. It's also a testament to how great the game was because I was so burnt out on 2D platformers at the time and didn't like the original Returns so I didn't have high hopes for this but was pleasantly surprised. Platforming perfection with perfect pacing and difficulty curve along with a soundtrack to die for. It's the best Donkey Kong since DKC2 so... The best DK in 20 years!!
  10. White 3DS with NSMB2 for £79 - what a steal!
  11. I can imagine the terror as he saw the replies and realised. Almost like if you say to someone 'I can't wait for your party!', 'what party?', 'yknow, the surpr.... Oh shit'
  12. Translator at Nintendo who's had a very large prescence for years in their E3 stuff. I'll miss him if this is true. And he says he messed up the times. Perhaps there's a proper announcement of his leave in the E3 plans and he accidently revealed it early?
  13. I really REALLY hate sending stuff so I still haven't sent my gamepad to nintendo. With a bunch of games on the way though, I've ordered a new GamePad battery so I really hope that's the problem :p ...mainly because the new Kirby game looks so cute. And my Wii U connects to the Internet so easily (my ps360 and laptop just seem dead against connecting) and Netflix and crunchyroll require the Gamepad so I have a lot of hope riding on this :p
  14. New Punch Out!! with Little Reggie confirmed
  15. Sorry to be a bit off topic here but I've been out of the gaming loop somewhat and couldnt help notice project cars in the charts. Isn't this meant to be on Wii U as well? Is it cancelled or delayed? And impressive software numbers for nintendo in Japan this week but yeah, I'd have also expected more consoles shifted considering those games, especially Dragon Quest which is pretty huge over there.
  16. I've always dreamed about this, so I can't wait to see what they come up with. They need a DK Minecart ride that goes above or to the side of DK rapids
  17. The complete lack of GamePad support this past year or more has made people forget about it, myself included. I'm so used to the (amazing) Pro Controller now that I'd find it hard to go back to the Gamepad and many people feel the same.
  18. Timed demos, different modes out after launch, in-game advertising and amiibo DLC. I was going to give this direct a chance but I honestly can't be bothered after reading all this. Everything seems so awkward and such a faff. I might get it 6 months down the line when it's actually completed but as it is, the release seems as borked and confusing as the Wii U itself.
  19. Perhaps you could just host different towns and you'd all share a password to get on them? a bit like the worlds in Minecraft whilst still having a 'classic mode' offline town if you wanted.
  20. With the popularity of AC, the fact most of the characters already have HD models thanks to that Wii U app and the overwhelming prescence in Mario Kart 8 and Smash, I'd be shocked if we didn't see a Wii U Animal Crossing this year though personally, it would need a massive overhaul. I loved the additions of New Leaf, but it was still the same game we got in 2003 deep down. I'd love for a change of visual style so that the town actually looks a lot like it does in Mario Kart 8. And of course, a bigger focus with online. I remember back in the early days of Wii, ONM were trying to make sense of Wii Connect 24 and said something along the lines of "in standby, perhaps your friends can visit your town even when you're not playing". Of course, this never happened, but I was always so excited by that possibility. I think a shared town that friends can drop in and out of at any time would be amazing.
  21. Jesus, that was 9 years ago? Where does the time go
  22. Starfox: Amiibo Party
  23. Gran Theft Auto: play as a rebellious old lady stealing goods from other residents rooms in a care home. Sonic and the Secret Rig: Sonic gets a job on an oil rig but... It's a secret. Play as a distraught and heartbroken Tails, wondering where and why Sonic left without any warning in this emotional roller coaster of a game. Nintendo LAD: a tamagotchi type game where you must provide your Mii with beer and copies of Fifa, trying to increase your Mii's BANTER level. Wii Pay: The game starts with one coin on screen, you only win by getting 100 coins on screen. You gain a coin each time you put a new Amiibo on the Gamepad. A special edition amiibo will be released for the game, 10 are made worldwide and sold for £1999 each, the amiibo is a bin with copies of old F-Zero, WaveRace and Metroid inside. When this Amiibo is scanned, all coins will be replaced with pictures of Iwata's face.
