See I think we are great examples of people having similar yet vastly different tastes. I'm pro-refining and you're pro-defining in terms of games. I think what I like most about the games I play is that they provide me with great challenges, something that Wii didn't do. It can be fun but not as rewarding as completing difficult levels etc in HD. Shit not another 'console war'.

I thought someone would pick up on that and yeah you are kind of right, but it's not Nintendo is it? It feels like in order to satisfy the hardcore they feel that Mario saves them, so they are making another one because they know it sells and they know that it'll hush big game sites in questioning their direction. Reading back through that it does smell a bit like bullshit because I doubt the companyreally cares about the big game sites but you know, it just seems a bit desperate. Long term development is what makes new 3D mario games special, and even if I wasn't the greatest fan of galaxy it was definetly special, with this it just seems the same again, same environment feel too, with small planets etc.

And nobody laughed... Not really I did. It's probably just a 'threat' or Activision putting pressure on Sony to lower console prices. I don't think they ever would but why not hint it? Although this is probably a bit more than a hint.

Well no great engine but it really only looks like an expansion, they should always make the mario games a vastly different experience. The drill item isn't that, neither is anything from the trailer. Yeah the engine is great but they should use it for the next idea they bring along: Mario 64 (first 3D game) - Mario Sunshine (FLUDD & ruined paradise) - Mario Galaxy (space & planets) then it just looks like an add-on with a few gimmicks. Obviously Galaxy got a huge reception in reviews but Mario games shouldn't just be quick remakes. Do a virtual reality thing or something with it/warping environments.

They'd have to get a new car leaderboard though. Plus I think the lack of adverts is a good thing because otherwise it gets spoiled slightly. I like knowing that they are doing the classic 'race' episode though. They are always great.

There isn't really much to dislike about it as far as the shooting and handling is concerned, it's just the fact that other than controls it doesn't stand out. I still need to rebuy a Wii though so I can get this and Trilogy (investment for future as well if Other M turns out well) I don't think I would buy Galaxy, partly because I didn't take to the first, but also because I think it shows a breakdown in Nintendo's legacy, I think it's hypocritical of them to release another one when they say they are always innovating. Galaxy hasn't even been out long.

Fifth Gear wants to be Top Gear but fails because the presenters are boring and it isn't hosted on a good channel. Plus they burned the Top Gear studio! But seriously, I don't know what there isn't to like about Top Gear if you have a taste for cynicsm. Watched the episode where they try and find the best driving road with 3 sports cars where James brings along the Aston racing car without air conditioning - the episode is just hilarious the whole way through with many rofl moments. Off the top of my head there's a bit when they are arguing where to go next and James had mentioned Austria, Clarkson just says 'You go off to Austria, we can't smell your pits from there'. Ok the majority of it is staged but they recognise that, but you should just take it as a film or other fiction because they make a great show. There's just so much great content and universally loved for a reason.

I don't know why I doubt that but it just seems a bit hinky. I don't think they will have all PSP games on there at launch anyway.

Ah yes, Dark Knight on blu-ray was brilliant. The opening scene was just jaw-dropping and remained like that throughout the film.

Yeah OK move on, it won't put me off buying the game, it's more likely I won't buy it because I don't like the genre all too much. I guess this sort of game makes you enjoy the genre though because of the production.

Really? I'm glad I got it then, it's hard but I'm sure there's a fair amount of people that have got it because it just takes practise. If I manage to finish of the campaign on elite I WILL get platinum. There are other annoying trophies like that arcade perfect one though. Edit: I've only got 4 elite gold medals to get for the golf trophy! WOOP! It's not actually been as hard as I thought it would be, I've passed a few of the levels in the last set within the first 2 tries, and my time trials have been far from perfect yet they have bagged me top 200 places globally.

Yeah but I'm not going to buy it. From the trailer it looked like they've added 3 new tracks, and then slapped on some different effects for existing tracks. I can live without that pack tbh. Motorstorm would be so much better if the boost had more of a kick, as it is you are constantly overheating and it just feels to slow and awkward - like you're going to get overtaken because of how slow you turn a corner and how little the boost affects your speed when you start driving again. Wipeout updte looks like a must have. Pretty much another whole game on top. I hope they add a campaign mode for the new tracks.

I've had a hilarious moment in the Arena recently where there's a weird tangle up between me and Friedel, so I'm running through into the goal with the ball bouncing in when Bradders flies like Superman into the ball...Only to knock it in harder. Stuff like that is just gets me in hysterics.

OK after playing through the campaign on elite again (almost up to where I was before the data shat itself) it's fair to say that I can't bloody wait for this to come out, especially because I'm getting an HDTV for my room soon. The game is just awesome, I know it's not revolutionary - the clue is in the title - but it has it's own perks and looks & plays incredible. Bending round corners, boosting, absorbing, missiling, barrel rolling all seamlessly and is just so rewarding when you string it all together in order to win. It goes in my favourite games ever list, something which Motorstorm hasn't quite done (more speed please) and I only hope the expansion can offer up even more awesomeness. To think the game retailed at £11.99 is unbelievable, if this were a Wii game it'd be worth £50 in value terms. Plus you get to play our own music i.e. Beautiful Day - U2. Om nom nom nom nom!

Well there's a limited spread of votes, most people finding that HD has turned out to be the business, I'm guessing the option with one vote was Zechs Merquise. I'd laugh if it was for obvious reasons, but also because he didn't feel he'd be able to express himself in the thread.

OK I may get that one, it's just the sound quality is slightly dubious. Many say it's good, but if not can you improve the quality with speakers/surround sound?

Well no I just want a TV that's good for games, I really don't give a toss about the extras, I've been looking for one a while now but I just haven't made the precise choice.

Look Choze that's the maximum I've set. I know you're loaded and have high standards but it is possible to get good HD TVs for less. 32" TVs don't need to have 1080p either do they? Just see what you can do, I appreciate the help.
