  1. There are a few problems with that though: 1) Galaxy is a platformer, so there should be more difficult platforming sections 2) Other mario games have been more open world and have forced you to use almost every ability 3) Uncharted doesnt pride itself on platforming only, its actually mostly shooting with an added element to stop it from becoming stale (which arguably didnt work that well by the end of a game) 4) Uncharted is almost an interactive action movie. I wouldnt watch a mario Galaxy film because it is nothing like one. Basically Im saying theres a reason why they made the platforming simple in Unch2 5) There are difficulty settings in MW2 & Unch2 Plus not all games have become easier. Like in point 5 it depends what difficulty you play on and if youre a completionist (playing extra challenges/unlocks for bonuses etc). Galaxy doesnt offer that.
  2. Of course youd be right in saying all that, I guess I just feel more strongly about opposing this game than most because of the level to which I disagree with reviewers on it.
  3. I think theres a lot of people that are, like me, bewildered by the accolades. Mass crowds can be wrong, in this case certainly so. It had potential to be a great game, but the reality is that it was released amid a drought-like period where anything decent seemed like gold.
  4. That is funny, it really is. Tell me where I said it is not possible to enjoy it. I myself enjoyed the game but just cannot comprehend the scale of praise the thing received.
  5. Has he played R&C before? If he played the original he will be disappointed by either of those.
  6. Game of the decade doesnt have to be decided, it would be way too broad and you may as well just do an all time list if you wanted to. When it is so impossible to decide GotY there is very little point. I wish Mario fans would shut up about Galaxy. Maybe if it was more difficult and offered much more intricate platforming + open worlds then yeah.
  7. You can tell that magazine doesnt specialise in games (unless Im horrifyingly mistaken) reviewing or opinion, or indeed common sense. What a bunch of wasters.
  8. Yeah. Theyll just hunt through all the movie-trilogy clichés, use them, then pretend they shed new light/put a different angle on the storyline.
  9. Not that I give a toss about minis (dont see myself buying them), but it would be weird having a superior version on the console if they do add trophies for them. If they use the same save file (would be strange to start a campaign thing on a Mini and then start over on a console) so youd probably want to transfer them onto PS3. That means you have hax0rz on the PSP, uploading the save onto PS3 for easy trophy time. Just dont buy them, its probably a cheap sony ploy to get easy monies from phone game suppliers that can make the easy transition and theyll release anything because I doubt the stuff goes through a seal of approval, especially true seeing as the tripe that is Hail to the Chimp got released on disc for the system.
  10. I was listening to podcast beyond and the editors all said theyd love to see Uncharted 3 as the next Naughty Dog game. Id really prefer them not to. Whilst the 2nd was stunning in multiple places I seriously wouldnt want a third within the next 3/4 years. You can tell its getting pretty stale, but I have a feeling theyll advertise the sequel as having a unique feature, with the plot being something like Drake turning rogue for half the game or a different lame piece of crap, Just to make it marketable. They should just make a platformer game that has sections a foetus couldnt complete. Get them to rebuy the rights to Crash Bandicoot and expand on it whilst keeping some of the cool stuff from 1,2 & 3. Obviously if they release Unch 3 in a relatively short period of time I will have to pick it up, would just appreciate it if they didnt make it so.

    Borderlands

The guy was right in saying there should have been more arena sections, but paying extra for them is a no, unless it ends up going for a couple of quid. What do I care now? Sold it last week.
  12. Ba Dum Tish. Not bad Moogle, but not the best. Well, better than Rez.
  13. Ill probably get that game. Seems like a third person fighter that doesnt take itself too seriously, is a bit casual (e.g minigames thrown in) and generally looks badass. Said it before but the demo was great.

    DUST 514

Cool. Didnt know where to ask about it but a few weeks ago I was on Brookers twitter and he was asking for unique game suggestions and someone linked him to a video of this gravity FPS thing that focuses on varying levels/height where you can avoid gun fights etc by shooting people down via running on the ceiling/walls. From the trailer I was under the impression you can switch walls on the go. Not positive its on consoles but it looked pretty rad. Edit, why the Borderlands lock?
  15. I have a lot of money that could be spent on games this Christmas, stuff like MW2 and ACII, but the fact is I wouldnt really buy those unless I really wanted them. Feel in the mood to conserve money until stuff things hit the bargain bin or for when Heavy Rain, BC2 or GoWIII hits. This year has just been a bit uninspired, and whilst those 3 mentioned arent all original, they appeal to me far more than the sequels mentioned at the top of this post.
  16. Id like to play this game. The difficulty is welcome, and I imagine it would be fun to co-op in 2 player.

    Just Cause 2

I actually only posted that because I had to get the pun out of my head. The game actually looks pretty fun.
  18. That bit is true though. No Im not going to say Im joking in this white text
  19. Youve presented me with the opportunity to boast about my Wipeout platinum trophy. The game is bloomin solid to complete, tackling super fast lap times, racing through zone mode at mind boggling speeds and beating the campaign on elite mode... Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through the pain.
  20. I can see why those two would be more instant hitters though. There are a lot of variables in KZ2 and tactical/skill nuances that affect the experience that can make it more of a difficult jump-in game. Im not trying to deny the subtleties of Modern Warfare, Im just saying that KZ2 is more complex and harsh in many ways. (Man Ive unintentionlly made it sound like I rate myself and Killzone as pr0 skillz when really it isnt the case)
  21. Your skill maybe? Seemingly devoid of it whenever Ive been in the same game as you. I remember that time vividly. Now hes gone all pro-MW2, even after his episode of claiming MW1 was no good because it didnt properly output HD.
  22. Well I wouldnt say I was utterly hooked the first time I played it, but I knew it would get progressively better, which it did. You really have missed out if youre ignoring because of the lack of desire to spend a bit of time with it. You might say you have better things to spend time on but seeing as youre a gamer somewhat, Im surprised at your appallingly bad attitude towards such a masterpiece and complete lack of taste for the medium. If I were you Id be ashamed, Im borderline disgusted by your presence on this forum if you are as lazy as you claim. Not even borthering to put a few hours in... Talk about human abominations. joking ofc, just surprised you didnt think it was good
  23. Well the single player was dire, yes. But theres no denying the multiplayer depth and quality once time is invested.
  24. Infamous was also overrated.
  25. Arkham was no more than an average game. Really didnt understand the fuss. I think it was the monumental hype coupled with the fact that it wasnt complete shite. Id say it was a poor 2009 if that game was considered one of the best. In fact this year hasnt been that outstanding overrall, what with the Q3/4 games releasing later than expected.
