Looking at this year's class photo - starting to suspect Kimi might be becoming an influence on Lewis already.
-
Ever since watching "Racing with the Hamiltons" I've become acutely aware of how Lewis treats himself if something doesn't quite go to plan for him and I think he was too hard on himself after the race. His start wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either. Neither he or his team made any serious mistakes but one or two small things seemed to go against him, with the safety car and I suspect maybe his setup wasn't quite where he wanted it to be on the day. He made a joke about being prone to being in the wrong place at the wrong time and I immediately thought of his dad standing severely by as Nic came back from his crash on that corner he wasn't quite getting. I think he needs to stop over-analyzing himself and let go of the high standards he clearly has for himself - I think he's putting himself under more pressure then is needed and if he can let go of some of that his natural talent will be allowed to shine through. As it was he had a difficult day but still a positive one - on the harder tire he was still keeping pace with their most likely rivals on the soft and we saw in quali he's lost none of his speed. Here's hoping he'll be smiling more at the next round. Anyway, Button's come on leaps and bounds since joining Mclaren, his experience is really what set him apart and once again he managed his tires perfectly, a well deserved win. I think that Red Bull is being flattered by both Vettel and Webber, the way Vettel was jiggling it through the last corner really makes me suspect that the driver was vastly out-driving the car. Ferrari's are difficult to read, horrible qualifying but decent race pace, we'll be able to say for sure in Malaysia. Was gutted for Maldonaldo, really want to see Williams have a decent year, looks like their revamps are making the difference though. Kimi did an incredible job, I don't remember him being that fierce. Maybe a couple of years of deforesting Europe with Citroen's has done him good. Welcome to the fold! And you've got a good eye, Kobayashi is somewhat of a talisman for all fans, he's always a thrill to watch. You came in at a good time too, looks like it's going to be a banner year. I'll let somebody else explain the safety car, I've had a large glass of wine and I don't think my senses are quite about me at the moment. Maybe I'll give it a go later.

New Prometheus trailer - More Ridley Scott sci-fi? More Ridley Scott sci-fi. I cannot bloody wait.

Just watched the qualy and wow, really quite surprised at how the field shook out. Fantastic for Grosjean, really showed what a balls-up Kimi's qualy was, hopefully he'll be fighting his way through tomorrow. Amazed the Red Bulls could only (and I use "only" guardedly) take 5th & 6th, it'll be fascinating to see what their race pace is. Delighted to see Williams take a massive lurch forward from last year. What an absolutely scorching lap from Hamilton, he blew the rest away and it was all Button could do to keep himself anywhere near. Absolutely delighted. My big question for tomorrow - can Schumi finally get his first podium since coming back? Fingers crossed the Merc keeps coming good. Pretty satisfied with the BBC coverage too. Still got that great sense of fun & polish and the new commentator seems to know his stuff, although I think it'll take him and DC a couple of races to find their rapport together. Can't wait for the race tomorrow even though it'll only be the "extended highlights".

Really pleasantly surprised at how involved the side missions are, the ones in ME2 which just dropped you off to eff ess up were all very well but I'm surprised at the amount of cutscenes and old friends I keep running in to. It's also done a really good job of working past choices into what's going on, even if it's only a difference in the way the mission dialogue unfolds towards a single end. Also, I've been reading the discussion around the endings but not reading anything actually about the ending, so it's like I'm playing double jeopardy with the rest of entire world and I literally can not imagine what the hell is at the end of this thing that's generating so much hate, so much love and so much discussion. Unless it actually withheld an ending, blacked out mid-battle or something I genuinely can't even begin to fathom what the controversy could possible be. Don't tell me what it is - I just can't wait to see for myself either way. Typical example - Tyco at PA seems to defend it as an influence of "classic sci-fi" but beyond that I have no context whatsoever. Also, this:

Australia is always a great opener but it's rarely an indicator of form, even after the race is over. Still, the early practice results plus the testing form adds up to a season with no one team dominating, although Mclaren are looking strong out of the gate. Can't wait for qualy, won't be able to watch it until tomorrow evening, I'll be on tenterhooks until then.

What? No no no, you misunderstand. I didn't say it was my foreskin.
-
Not as far as I'm aware of but it would explain the recently missing foreskin.

I've just eaten my first bacon roll in five months. It was heaven. I have no idea why I stopped eating these and I'm ashamed of myself for having done so.
-
*skims to the bottom for fear of spoilers* Finally got stuck in last night, my dude's face didn't import but it only took a few minutes to re-create him albeit slightly fatter and paler - he basically looks like the same guy that hasn't been sleeping or eating very well for a few months, which is very fitting. I can see how some say the graphics engine is starting to show it's age but it's mostly still a damn fine looking game. I was also pleasantly surprised at the way it starts your character at the same level and you left ME2 at. My only real complaint thus far is that there's not enough of the Clint Mansell score, hope the soundtrack release comes soon.

I've figured out what @martinist is - he's like the Bananaman of booze. For he leads an amazing double life. When martinist swallows 3 jagerbombs and a pint of ale, an amazing transformation occurs. Martinist is Drunkman! Ever alert for the call of horny cougars and senior school girls who love terrible, terrible music.

God dammmit I can't believe it was so close - I even had better possession & play. Congratulations are in order to Intergalactico - we wus robbed etc.

Dispatched from Amazon within the last 15 minutes, giving me the slimmest glimmer it might be here tomorrow morning. I've ordered things at almost 4pm and had them turn up unexpectedly the next day though Amazon's always been most effective and telling you when you're going to get it and getting it to right then. Still, I hope it does arrive, I've got the day off tomorrow. Otherwise I'll be waiting until Saturday evening to tuck into it properly.

All right, confident finish against Mcoy. Lets go for glory lads.

I have absolutely no idea how this franchise continues to exist. I can't even watch the original movies any more because of the ever growing mountain of shit like this. And that was prodigious to begin with.
-
Cannot wait to get stuck in to this. One thing I don't understand is people's need for a "perfect" playthorugh. I get they want the "good" ending but it almost seems like it's missing the point. I've made decisions in the first 2 games that I knew probably weren't the best game-wise but I took because I imagined what I would do in a similar situation. The end result was a dead council and a half-empty Normandy but the way these things play into the story - my character's story - really imbues the whole experience with an extra sense of something special. I ended my ME2 experience with my guy looking tired & beaten to hell standing next to the table where the family man looking forward to seeing his daughter used to sit. It just fits.

I think somebody's getting a bit too excited. Possibly my favourite shot in a while, I love these top-down views. Also, good final day of testing for almost everybody except Red Bull who got next to no running done after a shunt & gearbox problems. I don't want to be malicious but I do hope that lets the rest step up for round 1. Fingers crossed it's as close as everyone says it will be.
-
Of all the things I'm looking forward to in this game, I lust most for the Clint Mansell soundtrack. The few bars of it on that trailer made nearly my heart explode.
-
Oh christ, I can see the interview section now: Jezzer: "So, what are you driving these days?" Kimi: "My car." Jezzer: "..." Also, I've been looking up some of the old BBC coverage intros. God they are beautiful. SKY's really gonna have to reach deep to match the passion and humour the BBC boys obviously have for the sport.

This is definitely one of the better fanfictions I've read recently.

Lucky to be at home again, going to need it against Silverdale. Don't feel bad, we had a bit of an epic - you went ahead twice before I sealed it midway through the 2nd half. I didn't exactly field a B-squad either, I was actually quite shocked.

Here's 2 minutes from Pixar's upcoming Brave. I don't think I've been this excited for a movie in my entire life.

Have I ever mentioned what a wonderful place Tumblr is? An now the full 2012 lineup: (Check out the sass on Lewis)

1. a) Better to get a pound even if I'm jealous of someone getting 9. 2. I wouldn't provide the evidence, I would view it as an attempt to gain control by the warden and would be naturally inclined to resist.
