When you are not on the Internet, what do you do?
gaggle64 replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
I don't understand. Why wouldn't I be on the internet? -
I bought a lion bar from a vending machine and it gave me two.

Mildly irritating, like the taste of tap water from an inner-city flat. Little was achieved. Somehow got promoted at the job I hate, I now live with people who I'd dislike if they were around more often, still can't drive and my favourite arcade is falling into the sea. Things have to got to change in the next 12 months. Step by step, things are going to have to change.

1.Kill 2.All 3.The 4.Humans. 5.Learn to drive.

The man who give me a major part of childhood has died today - Gerry Anderson, the man directly responsible for puppet-starring explosion-fests Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray and others as well as classic live action shows U.F.O. and Space 1999 has died aged 83. He was a giant in the science-fiction landscape enthralling multiple generations of kids around the world with his futuristic fantasies of incredible machines and daring heroes. All these shows were a huge part of my and many others childhood and I know many will continue to treasure them today Oh, and the explosions. Lots and lots of explosions.

If anyone has a better expression of Christmas spirits within their heart, I've yet to meet them.
-
Alright, a couple of slightly surprising results gives me my first bit of breathing room. Looks like I might be able stick it in the top tier again. Merry Xmas y'all!
-
Merry Christmas you great galutes!

I trust you've had all four of them checked for ticks & neutered?

In a twist to the thread's usual theme, after a concentrated effort to get 3 oblong meals a day not matter what for the last couple of months I'm back up to just under 10.5 stone. It'd definitely made a positive difference to my energy levels too, though I won't be going back to the gym anytime soon. The karate classes I've started taking are a pretty good fit right now, in the new year I'm going to throttle my boss until I get a schedule to let me attend them more frequently, if not a better schedule in general.

Oh good, everyone's having fun.

Hopefully it's not the end and new management can pull something out of this mess. I do hope they survive, they've brought mostly fresh stuff in over the last few years. At least the franchises will be saved, I just pray they won't be farmed off and quietly killed by one of the big names. Roll on MetroLL, South Park and the next Company of Heroes in the meanwhile.

I find this to be unacceptable, please take it back. Also: Winter testing dates - Jerez: 5/2/2013 – 8/2/2013 Barcelona: 19/2/2013 – 22/2/2013 Barcelona: 28/2/2013 – 3/3/2013

One day I'm going to build the shrink ray from and personally finally sort out everything that's wrong with you from the inside using laser beams and tight-white swim suits.

Saw Rise Of The Guardians - I thoroughly enjoyed but I felt frustrated by it after. The animation and design is wonderful, the characters well cast and the story effective enough. What bothers me is that it came so close to being a truly great movie but stepped back from it. Even a little more examination into the tragic, heroic pasts of the characters or any attempt to discuss what exactly the villain does and why could have easily catapulted it from being effective Xmas fodder into one of the all time great family films. The ingredients were all sitting there but for some reason it chose not to use them. I feel like what I saw was merely good when it could have been something truly special.

So are they all on the same disk or do I get a pair of Hitman themed coasters with my Hitman 2?
-
This is everything I ever wanted out of cinema. I've been looking forward to this ever since I read "del Toro" "Idris Elba" and "giant robots" in the same sentence and this looks set to deliver beyond expectations. Guillermo is capable of making a bad movie (probably), but never a dull one. Anyone who tries to claim otherwise will be fighting me in the street. In giant robot suits.

Can anyone explain this gay marriage malarky to me?
gaggle64 replied to Rummy's topic in General Chit Chat
No, conceivably you could rent a church building as a privately owned venue for a party, but the actual union would be dealt with by your local registrar. A priest can't provide civil partnerships, as far as I'm aware. -

Basically, the government has decided to legalise gay marriage so religious communities can provide them for the first time. To do this they've decided to create an "opt-in" system so a religious community can provide same sex marriage if they officially declare to the government that they want to. Supposedly this has been done to "protect religious freedoms" by giving the leadership of each community legal control on this issue over their respective groups, as well legal protections for them from being compelled to provide marriages or being sued for not doing so. The CoE has supposedly told the government it doesn't want to provide these marriages and therefore will not be included in the "opt-in" clause at all, and some inside the Church aren't happy about not even getting the option. If that all sounds like a bit of a clusterfuck, it kinda is. -
I can't tell you ho relieved I am that it's retaining the elements of supernatural/occult that give the series it's flavour. Looking grand. Hopefully Square-Enix won't fuck it up with horrible marketing, a la' Hitman.

I'm kind of getting the impression that you seem to have a lot of romantic & sexual energy at the moment that's going unspent, and it's ended up attaching itself to some of the people around you regardless of whether or not they are suitable/available/prospective partners. I think maybe you might do yourself a favour by making solid efforts towards dating/online dating and start finding & vetting new people for The Human Mating Ritual without putting existing friendships at risk. At the very least you can move some attention away from unrequited love and maybe you might find crushes you can actually act on without anybody's manic-depressive girlfriend running in with a knife. Unless you really need that sort of drama of course...
