Simon and Garfunkle. Now there's a pair who could bust out a fantastic piece of musical and poetic genius just by going for a dump.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Humanoid, but very feral I reckon. -
Superior Time Traveling.

Whoa check out those gouges. He's now been moved from intensive care, and his condition has been downgraded from "serious but stable" to "stable". Apparently he hasn't susatined any severe physical deformities, so his face isn't mangled or anything. Good to know.

I actually think there's a little bit of danger in focusing purely on the lyrics of a song without looking at the musical composition of the piece, as often you'd only miss a good deal of what the song is trying to convey in terms of imagery and emotion along with the message. Also, I think it's important that songwriters and poets don't fall into the trap of deliberately trying to be too aloof in the name of artistic expression. Often I find that all that happens is that you can confuse your own expression. My pefered lyricists are pobably R.E.M and Elton John. Basic stuff I know, but often done with a great deal of intelligence. I'm really enjoying the Dylan song above though. I've always got the impression that Bob was a poet first and a songwriter second. Sounds like something he wrote as a moody teenager. Maybe about his moody teenage years. Angst galore!

Batman! Chucks a little too ginger for me.

Most of todays newspapers are claiming that crash occured at a speed of around 280mph. Despite denials, rumours are persisting that Hammond was attempting to break the British land speed record. This could become significant later as both the BBC and the HSE & Police have now launched their investigations.
-
I very much doubt that the Beeb would have let Hammond drive something like that if they believed there was a significant risk of injury. The BBC is well known for it's stringent health & safety precautions. It's still a god damn shame this has happend though. Sky News has just reported that doctors have said that Hammond has suffered what they believe to be "significant brain damage". He's in a stable condition and recovering quickly, but it doesn't sound good.

Superior cel shaded goodness. Fact.

Just take a gander at what he was driving. That's not a car, that's a jet engine with wheels. Additonal info here.

Dawn of the Dead (remake) - Lack of amusing biker gang render this film invalid. Crap script didn't help either. Next! 5/10

I'm gald to see that there are not Zelda screenshots bursting out all over the place so I'm not too tempted to look at them and spoil some section of the game too much. Plus everytime I look at so much as one screen I start to hyperventilate. It's a public health hazard I tells ya. -
 I don't want to lower the tone or anything here, but that's just too fucking cool. I'll bet that kid's a babe magnet. Good luck to him indeed.

Pheonix Wright I must say. He specialises in only situations where The Bauer has no power of his own - situations where shooting an arab and/or communist in the face and then running around for a bit isn't actually going to solve anything.

God is a naked rabbity thing. Oh hell yeah.

What game has the best storytelling?
gaggle64 replied to Gaijin von Snikbah's topic in General Chit Chat
I agree, but I feel you only ever really get the chance to explore in detail the characters and issues that make up this world when you're not expected to shoot them in the face. My dream is one day for there to be a genre of games where you don't shoot, score, solve, find, quest, attack, defend or any of the other play objectives common throughout many modern games. Game where you just simply experience what's going on. Sort of like Animal Crossing, but with a serious face to it. Imagine playing as a passenger on the Titanic for example. At first your only goal is simply to enjoy your cruise, read the paper, chat to your fellow passengers and so on. Three days later you're watching panicky crewmen desperately launching lifeboats as the ship starts to cave in on itself, and the only thing you can do about it is wonder where it all went wrong. Now that's what I would call "edutainment". -
Battle Royale - Film4 - 11:10pm Tonight (Saturday)

To be fair, the exploding rugby diving try is pretty amusing. Otherwise, stay clear of BR2. -
The lighting effects look quite nice in some sections, and the textures, effects and models overall look quite impressive. I just hope this one turns out as fun as the PC versions.

I'm liking the more recnt vids floating arund. The enviorments and effects are rather delectable now, better then the higher echelon of Xbox titles. None too shabby.

What game has the best storytelling?

Sam & Max and Eternal Darkness have the best game stories ever. Sam & Max is easily one of the funniest games I've ever played, easily matching the great humour of their creator's comic and outstripping that of the cartoon. Eternal Darkness is in my opinion the only game out there with a plot you could just transfere lock, stock and barrel to celluoid. Characters, plot, history, follore, conspiracy, sacrafice, you've got full bang and schpudle. Deus Ex also has a good story, but sometimes the plot gets a little bogged down in itself, and other non-story related game elements (the punishing difficulty level mainly) sometimes hampered my enjoyment of it. Mention must also go to pretty much all the sections of Half-Life 2 where you don't get to shoot something, the play sequence with Dog in Black Masa in particular.
