It just me who doesn't find Megan Fox particularly hot? No? Just me? Okay then. Oh yeah and Shia IS good in Even Stevens, what a show Haven't seen him in anything else but it irritates me how many average blockbusters he seems to pop up in. Always the sort of film that everyone goes to see but are a bit rubbish. Could be that he's in shit films, as opposed to being a shit actor? In other news, Caught the second half of Minority Report the other day as I'd heard that, like someone else said on here, it was based on a Philip Dick novel so I thought it must have been more the Spielburg Cruise blockbuster action fest I has assumed it would be. Was pretty good, nicely fleshed out futuristic setting, and an interesting central plot. Last minute or so were a bit lala lovely lovely yay though. And I watched Batman Begins just now which I thought was utterly stunning. The sets were incredible, Gothem City brilliantly realised, and I do love the Bale. Oh and Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow was great... brilliant actor. Can't actually say I was a huge fan of TDK (Or at least, it was too overhyped for it to live up to expectations) but having seen this I think I should give it another watch 9 / 10

Well I'll say Im 18, can drive, in a good relationship for the past 3 months... but still I feel in no way grown up. I had a realisation the other day which weirdly came from reading the sport section (I couldn't give less of a damn about sport, just a random flick) and read about Ronaldo being signed to Man U at 18. Now this in itself would rarely impress or interest me, but then when I think how unexciting my life's been, at 18, it's a bit like woah... Still, travelling, uni coming up, plenty of time to grow.

Yeah but... when he's teaching the celebs in their practice laps it's not like he's fully kitted out, wearing the Stig outfit and helmet - the celebs who go on would be taught by him and almost certainly know who he really is, but have been asked by the bbc not to tell others, to keep up the lighthearted mystery of it all. To me the whole thing's more an amusing running joke than an actual mystery. Oh yeah and, good episode in general. Love Top Gear.

Much like everyone else, I finished exams this week... all went well, whether they went well enough for the two A's i need is another question though. Whilst laboriously putting up my art exhibition I stumbled upon everyone's marks for our Art A level, in the art office, which was a bit exciting... sadly I don't know how raw marks convert to UMS though, meh. Too much stuff to do to be able to relax though... gotta - Figure out which Leeds accommodation I want and apply - Get off my ass and sort out student finance - Find myself a tux for the leavers dinner thing. Frankly I can't be bothered and would happily just wear my regular sixth form suit - Book a weekend away with my girlfriend... and figure out how to afford said weekend

That does annoy me with gigs, when you go and most of the crowd clearly only know one song. Its like, what the hells the point? Gigs are so much more enjoyable when you know the songs. & Mollys Chamber, I love. Their old stuff like that doesn't seem particularly stadiumy though. And christ Im jealous of Glasvegas. I NEED to see them live. Playing at Reading but they clash with The Prodigy. In other news, Burial and Four Tet's collaboration is a bit brilliant Audio Oh yeah and the ultimate sing along song is clearly Journey - Don't stop believing

It most certainly is I am rather in love with them at the moment, only recently started watching the show but it cracks me up. Ohh sig ratings Paj who obviously will get a high mark merely because it's battlestar Sig - Simple but effective, got a kind of retro feel, reminds me of something or other. And so say we all <3 Not such a fan of the second line, could do without the quote marks / exclamation mark maybe 7 / 10 Av - Aahh, Tricia Helfer. Niceley put together and bordered, and fits well with the sig, I can't really fault it! I do get confused between the multiple people who have had a number 6 av on this forum though lol 9 / 10 And Im rating yours anyway Villan, I give both a solid 7, the white border of the av is really slight and effective, and I like the whole silhouettes thing. Not a huge fan of the colours though. -
Hayfever is kicking my ass. Urgh. I hate it. Had my last big exam on friday (biologys) which went ok, not sure if I've done well enough for uni but we'll see. One more weird paper left on wednesday. Since then been doing very little. Sorted out my hard drive, general tidying, sitting round in a half post exam state, half one left to go before I can celebrate. Made myself a new sig / av combo, as I thought my old one was abit glum and black and white. Thoughts? Went out to a party last night, first party I haven't drank anything at... watching drunk / high people stumbling around = more amusing than I'd have thought.

Av Never usually a fan of avs that are simply pictures of the user but you do look pretty awesome in it!! Like the sunglasses Border might help? 8 / 10 Sig If I could translate it I would probably appreciate it more. Like the crinkled background but overall abit meh 6 / 10 Sorry y'all for the second post so soon but I finally got round to making myself a new av / sig earlier. -
I dunno. Potentially if the everyone listening at once didn't work (as you say, Im not convinced there'd be enough people up for listening at the same time), then a similar thing to the movie / book club thing could be done, with an album being suggested a week which people would download and talk about it. Whereas going out and buying a film or book, and investing the time to watch it is a lot of effort and in my opinion the reason it didn't work out, simply downloading an album and listening requires little effort... hell, spotify exists, how hard can it be? Maybe we could have some sort of system where people could vote albums they really thought would be crap.

The album listening party thing sounds like a pretty cool idea. Whether or not there are enough people on the music thread to make it work is another question of course... -- Got the Marmaduke Duke (The guy from Biffy Clyro's other band) album the other day, which I am rather enjoying. Good fun, kinda different as well. The bloke from Biffy is much better than their other singer though.

Yeah I've heard many a good thing about it, Im not really sure why I haven't give it a go. My new plan is to watch one pilot episode a day for a week (long post A levels summer ahead of me), then hopefully one of the ones I watch will hook me enough to buy a boxset. Breaking Bad and possibly Jericho are on the pilot list thus far.

You have to be joking. I saw all three having known little to nothing about them (and knowing nothing of their critical reputations) and thought they were all superb. I can see why you wouldn't be a fan of Slumdog after all this hype, it's charming but not that good... but it's such a fun story and so aesthetically brilliant and vibrant that I don't get how anyone can hate it. Lost in Translation though... there's no calling that an awful film. I can see why it wouldn't appeal to people (minimalistic dialogue, no action, little plot) but again it's so god damn beautiful and perfectly shot and scripted that you have to at least acknowledge it's a good film. And Crash... can't say I can remember it very well but I remember it being far better than awful... -- In other news Im going to reiterate what a great film Squid and the Whale is. Quite short - just over an hour - but a brilliant story of the effects of a divorce on a family. 9 / 10

That question sounds nasty!! Guess you had to write about that play in the second or third act... 2nd question sounds similar to the one I did, went awrght, though at times I felt I was just sort of writing up what happened in the play, which is never good... I am indeed... yeah agreed, unit 5 should be straightforward enough, but the synoptic questions on 6 always confuse the hell out of me... as if I can remember AS stuff!! And the synoptic essay thing next wednesday is going to be utter hell... depends loads on what topic comes up though I guess

Aahh man I miss Battlestar... still got Razor to be watching at some point I guess. Rewatched the last episode of season 1 again the other day, so very good. The program owes so much to Bear's music work though. Still haven't found anything to fill the void... Firefly's shaping up to be pretty good, though I hate how early it was cancelled. And the lack of story arcs (standalone episodes instead) means it'll never be quite as good. Great fun though. I urge everyone to check out the Ron Moore scripted Virtuality later this month too...
