  1. Yoyo, been in france till this morning so missed the signup for your mafia! Muchos sorry

  2. SHEEEEEET Sorry kids, I've been in France until about 2 hours ago, didn't realize this would be starting so soon!!! Let me read up on everything, I'll edit my post soon!! Oh also: can someone PM the rules? Pretty sure I know how it all works but y'know
  3. I am lacking in a witty way of announcing it but I'm also in
  4. ^ What he said. Stunning stuff Fun with angles!
  5. Pretty much agreed with everyone. May even be their best yet.. Ready to Start, Month of May, and Suburbs II are all brilliant. Sometimes I can't believe it I'm moving past the feeling again..
  6. Seconded, someone must have a photo!! Anyhoo, wish I'd gone now, looked aces, keep whacking up the pictures / videos so I can feel like I'm there yeah?
  7. Hipsters Unite!! One of the most anticipated albums of the year has hit the web, so to speak. Streaming from their site is likely to follow if recent leaks are anything to go by. Anyway, it sounds great so far, alot of good reviews as well. Jury's still out on how they'll fare at Reading with a crowd of 16 year old Libertine fans Love / like / indifferent / bored?
  8. ^ Nah, I vaguely recall reading that the endings differ, despite O'Malley working closely with Edgar. I also vaguely recall one of them tweeting 'surprised how similarly our endings are' or something. Also, do it, it gets better and better. 30 pages into the Sixth, making it last. Love it.
  9. Thirded. I hope WB win it, if only to say 'I interviewed one of em!' but realistically my money's on The XX. Literally, as betting on the Mercury tends to be my thing these days.
  10. Not like I would advokate such a thing, but all the books are easily findable via.. other methods.. which I'm using for the sixth whilst I wait for Waterstones to get some stock in!!
  11. I had it in my leg the first time I had sex. It was classic.
  12. Just like to throw out an alternate viewing
  13. My name is Dan and I Like Trees
  14. So I finally got around to seeing it! Not a massive wow, and suffered from over-hype, but I'm still convinced that Nolan's the best director working in Hollywood right now. As for his best film? Memento, by quite a long way. As people have said it wasn't actually massively original; kept reminding me of ideas from other things I'd watched.. plus I called the ending from about twenty minutes in. Perhaps the only story where a 'and it was all a dream' ending might have been fitting. Really though? Ain't seen Shutter Island but Leo's character was the one character that they did actually flesh out. Didn't bother me whilst watching but more in depth on the others would have been nice. Page's character seemed to be there for the sole purpose of exposition and chatting to Leo. Somewhat wasted A-list cast. Leo's ex wife was really good though (I remember no character names) Yeah but to be honest, sometimes you do want to watch a film that's got blockbuster production values combined with interesting, if flawed ideas. I have the fountain on DVD and have yet to watch it, this may make me at last. Also I agree on the soundtrack. Very forgettable. Ending As Nolan seemed to be begging for people to discuss it, what was everyone's thoughts? Oh and for the record Id give it 8.5
  15. I'm so excited for it. I'm debating training it to the nearest waterstones tomorrow, but they'd probably not have it in yet. Anyway, i'm sure it's going to rock ultimate. Related: Read Lost at Sea lately. Not as good.
  16. ^ Being Human Apparently it's quite good. Misfits is also good. We make good comedy / teen shows / documentary's but yeah. Anyway, go watch BSG and The Wire.
  17. Jealous. The more I do english at uni and the more i do tablet doodles in my spare time the more I wish I'd done graphics / illustration at uni. Oh well they both sound equally useless degrees in the big wide world! -- I do leaflet delivering when not being a student. Poor pay, but walking around in the sun with an ipod and getting paid is nice. Shame I live in England.
  18. I feel I should post in here, outsiders view and all that. Think I've watched one before. Anyway. Criticism delivered by an outsider I enjoyed it. Though I'm not sure how well the awkward feeling of it all would run for 10 episodes. Suffice to say, I'm too lazy to look through the back catalogue, so to speak. Most of all I like intro, and the joyously off key jingles. Cooommedddy rainbow. Enjoyed. Don't do it. The post joke faces are essential. Especially for the non-good jokes, it's what makes them somewhat amusing. Which is 90% of them anyway. Also it's too long. I skipped parts. 4 minutes max. That is all.
  19. Watched a few. Good as ever, though I've only seen the ones that io9 told me were worth watching.. Also, I've always wondered, is it wrong that I find Leela / Amy hot?
  20. *High fives* Yeah good show innit. Apparently there's a TV film coming end of the year and everyfink. Pity about the last episode, but aside from that it's consistently great. It also amuses me how the chav lass speaks the way she does in real life. Good stuff.
  21. And of course 10 Things I Hate About You!! But anyway, he is a really good actor. Saw him in some little film called Uncertainty recently which was fairly watchable. Plus I am in the 500DoS love camp so ya know. In other news, I'm quitting this thread till I get round to seeing Inception for fear of spoilers. Also, @Dan Dare, just noticed your sig. Haha.. proud
  22. Get a young persons railcard, although you probably alreayd have. If not, it's essential. I can get an all day travelcard into London and back for a tenner, bit of a bargin if you tube it alot. Anyhoo, my hometown is classic London suburb. Shame there's no way I'll be able to afford a house somewhere like here when I'm older, what with prices in my town being absolutely ridiculous these days. Anyway, dunno what it's like to live there but it's clearly a great city. The amount of variety of things to do is just unrivaled / stating the obvious
  23. Do expand. I thought it was charming, though can see that there's little to like about it The A Team I literally fell asleep, but then it was 2am and Id been awake forever. Seemed vaguely better than expected but wasn;t in the mood for a generic hollywood blockbuster number
  24. Yeah, it's been pointed out to me multiple times... I would say that it was a clever self-depricatory meta joke but really I just made a massive schoolboy error
