The only gig I've got booked up at the mo is to see The Eels in June. I'll also go see Muse in November/December as that's usually when they do their stuff.
-
General gaming threads can go here though by all means. I can't wait to see what new titles are coming out on the Spectrum mostly. Should be pretty good though this year!

I think the comment about the controller not having overall influence on enjoyment is pretty narrow minded of him. We've moved on since days of the NES controller, and I personally can't see in my mind games like Katamari ever working on such a controller. On the otherhand I think people may be misinterpreting what he's said. I think he's digging at the way the Revolution controller is being talked up, like it's only useful for games that are based around the motion sensors. Whether or not the controller has to be used in that way, that's all they're touting it as, gimmick comes to mind on that...........I don't know where this is comment is going, but Takahashi's a smart bloke, and knows what he's talking about. I suppose time will tell whether he has a point at all with this.

Quoted for agreement! Henry for Arsenal comes close though.

Animal Forest (Crossing) modified screens
Colin replied to demonmike04's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It was a joke apparently. I remember N64 Mag (NGC) had the screen in there with alittle caption underneath it. -
Who says that at that time they had this massive idea for FF3 anyway? True that technology always limits, but if we know no better then surely we would be happy with a good result in the first place. But I do agree. There's are loads of 8bit era games that I would love to see updated now, on any of the consoles. If they'd done all the cutscenes in real-time, then they could have got that game onto one disc easy. But high quality fmv back then was a blessing.........everyone loved it. and lol @ comment about PS2 ff7. I think it was rumoured though, but that may of been fans that had their lives revolve around the game when the ps2 first launched.

Cheers. Well everyone is now jumping on-board the whole download old games feature for their new consoles. Even Sony are attempting this with having PS1 downloads for the PSP at the end of the year, and I think they plan the same with the PS3 being able to download PS2 games. Some games are obviously not going to be available to download, as they would want to milk them with remakes a few years later. Games companies are proud of their heritage, and they'll always be using that to their advantage. New games are all well and good, but you can't keep a classic down.
-
So are all these other Nintendo based FF remakes.............old history indeed. Doesn't mean people won't buy them.
-
I doubt very much that FF7 will be re-made for anything apart from the PS3. Sony has too much control over Square-Enix to let that happen, plus it's pretty much their "get out of jail free card" if they get in trouble with PS3 sales in Japan (also US, EU aswell to some extent). FF6 though I rekon could come to the DS if the FF3 remake is a success.

Wow......it's looking sweet. Can't wait for this. :awesome:

I've got that GameOver book, and it's a brilliant read. Highly recommended.

But typically Miyamoto will blow us away. It been in development for years apparently. I just think people at the moment are just focusing on Metroid because of that footage which was shown at lastyears press conference..........although I could be wrong. Both games will be amazing though!
-
I wouldn't personally go quite that far concerning Metroid. I think all focus will be on the New Super Mario game taking the limelight.
-
Yeh, cheers anyway. I'm going to try and pick up some tickets to see them sometime soon, as I've recently been listening to their album non-stop.
-
I'm very interested, but I've only just seen this thread..............and I rekon someone else has already contacted Tom about them. Anyway, I've PM'd ya Tom, so let me know.

I'd agree with you totally here. Gamespot's timetable thingy was brilliant, and it was good to watch dedicated interviews with a game developer taking the viewer through the E3 version of the game. Depending on the amount, I may consider subscribing this year just for their E3 coverage.

These are the titles I believe Nintendo will have for the console on launch day:- New Super Mario Zelda: TP Waverace Super Smash Brothers Pennant Chase Baseball Mario Party/Warioware game (one of these will be there for launch) And then you can expect atleast one of them to be delayed by a few weeks. But I rekon from what we've seen so far (and past history) that these will be Nintendo's third of that 20. You're probably thinking why I've chucked Waverace in there..............well Nintendo have had a Waverace title available from day one of both the N64 and GameCube's launch, and I believe that the same will happen again. NSTC will again be handling it aswell, as they would have noway dedicated all of their resources over the last year to Metroid Prime Hunters. Also having a racer from Nintendo shows they are willing to cater for all audiences, which they like to do at console launches. I rekon it'll be playable at E3 aswell. I really don't think that the new Metroid Prime will be there on launch day..........although I would really love it to be. Just have doubts about that one though.

Don't you mean £25 per month for 4Mb?
-
I'm pretty sure they won't keep the Revolution name, as it's just too many syllables for a mainstream catchy name. God knows what'll be though ??? But RS seems too close to the DS name, but I dunno whether that's a good thing or not?

Got the game delivered this morning, and I've been playing it since 11am and just having a break now. This game is just instant fun! My brother was sitting watching and wouldn't stop pestering for a go. The covers of the tracks are pretty good aswell I rekon (compared to the travesty which was Donkey Konga), and I've just got onto the third venue. I'm worried about where I should leave the controller after I've played, and I can just see someone moving it and breaking the whammy pedal off.

Mine was only dispatched today from amazon, so hopefully I'll be joining in with this guitar hero madness tomorrow..............although I can just see myself missing the delivery.
