That was on my doorstep and I didn't go! Unsee...unsee...unsee...

Just have a box full of review scores. That's all some gamers are bothered about at these days! In all seriousness though...I'm with ronnie - I'd love the games to always have an extra gold-coloured sleeve with just the Zelda logo on them (imitating a book like design). Zelda games always feel like an event so make me feel like I'm purchasing something extra special at retail. Other than that...a golden disk please!

Yup, yup and yup. Thanks though.

How do I get this? Spotpass is turned on but nothing has shown up.

An Appropriate Price For The Wii U? - Take Two
tapedeck replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I hope Lost World is good. That'll be a great incentive for some gamers as SONIC still has selling power in the West. Looks like a great Retro throwback too..as...does DKC Losses for Nintendo by reducing the systems price would be fruitless - the best thing for them to do would be to take a financial hit by buying up developers. Ex-Rare staff? (Yep...went there!) -
Yep...the games actually existed! I think we're all a little shocked at how limited Nintendo's first party Wii U library is. At least we have SNES F-Zero, right....right... Would have been better to have released the GCN games on the VC. Most of them are smallish files too!
-
Just put a that E3 Zelda demo in there with two dungeons fully playable. That'll boost sales! In reality we'll probably get Tetra's Trackers!
-
Why they haven't tapped into the whole 'app' idea is just bizarre.
-
A sequel to SML3D would be awesome but that seems to be coming to Wii U. Kinda bittersweet. How about Stunt Race FX 3D? So I can hear that theme tune again! Audio But it seems Nintendo are done with racers outside of the Mushroom Kingdom.

And yet 3:07 to 4:21 in the following video shows casuals the value of the controller IMHO. Clearly just promote that it's a NEW! Wii and surely that would do. Better than they pew pew pew Nintendoland WTF was that UK ads...

Nintendo tried to get more variety by the very ethos of the system. Instead of Wii...it was also U. U being the 'core' gamer focus. If this was just a marketing ploy why build that ethos into the very name of your system? Why strike an unprescedented partnership with EA or show DiRT3 at the unveil? Truth is that Nintendo must have damaged the Wii U's chance of third party redemption before the console even hit the streets. They have continuously had dire relationships with the biggest third party developers but third parties keep giving them extra lives. See GTA Chinatown, Mario and co. appearing in EA games, Dedicated games from Ubisoft. In reality...Nintendo needed to bend over backwards to get major third party support in the two years before Wii U launched. EA support went awry and when that was untenable, they should have gone after 2K. There are reams of developers who would love Nintendo support, wisdom and assistance in releasing a Wii U title. (Clearly cash would be involved I'm sure...) Truth is, Nintendo (and Iwata), are primarily developers, focused on making great Nintendo games. They aren't really bothered by third parties. Probably moreso with Iwata than the ball-breaking Yamauchi of the past. Reggie and NoA also seem softer than Lincoln etc. from the old days too. And you are up against SONY and Microsoft! Back with the NES/SNES third parties had fewer alternatives. Nintendo make it easy for devs to go elsewhere. I can kind of side with Nintendo though - they made a console that sold over 100 million units. And third parties STILL released crap for it, missing opportunities galore...they are all stoopid then! But the common denominator between the Wii's lack of AAA third party titles, their handhelds getting less western third party content than competitors and the Wii U's lack of software (and subsequent dire sales) is one thing: Nintendo. They need to reach out more, they need to stop being so incestuous. A culture change is needed.

Miiverse is immense. Would have been even cooler to have had it launch on the 3DS at the same time as Animal Crossing. Whenever I post AC images on my Facebook wall I get asked by people what the hell it is and NO likes!? On Miiverse they'd be totally digging my kiwi tank, dragon leggings combo whilst talking to a gym-rat Buffallo calling me sugar bro! Only on Nintendo!

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
tapedeck replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I thought the Gamecube days were laborious but this is worse... The biggest face palm moment for me was watching E3 and seeing that Mario Kart wasn't coming out this year. Especially as that one-two MK and SML3D punch on the 3DS was really effective. That was just an epic fail right there. I mean how many times have Nintendo made MK games? They should be able to absolutely rattle them out by now - HD or not. And if it's taking a while (as they have said), why not appease your frustrated customers by releasing a retail digital/e-shop demo of Mario Kart worldwide - with a few tracks for christmas at least? Hell, you may even secure some sales from such a release. (even that E3 demo would have been nice Ninty...) They could even release an e-shop D/L of Mario Sunshine for Summer or Mario Kart Double Dash in anticipation for the new Kart. just...something other than the usual drip-drip-drip of 8/16-Bit VC games. I also think that the new Mario is an unknown territory in a similar vein to NintendoLand. Nintendo are brave releasing a title that isn't an 'epic' 3D Mario action game but I figure they are trying to unearth that wii sports 'gem' like last time. If they can't find it I figure they should... Release Wii Sports 2 just before Christmas and go after the 100 million (can't be wrong) Wii owners. Even if most folk think those customers have moved on to Candycrush, if a minority of those consumers take the plunge for Wii Sports 2- sales should increase substantially. Nintendo should market the hell out of that saying 'it's the sequel you've been waiting for' and 'The biggest selling sports game in recent years returns in HD with added aspects including XYZ... (and bowling :P) Hell, instead of Mario and Sonic at the winter olympics, make Wii Sports: Winter Edition. And get NST working on racers instead of incremental web browser updates. -
Sadly, this facet may remain if Nintendo continue to release games involving miniature primary-coloured plant people to secure mass sales... MS and SONY meanwhile secure and promote sports, racing and shooting games as their staple diet. Nintendo keep on keeping on, relying on their own brands (Mainly Mario) and not third parties, to reel the cash in, in 2014 and to the end of time. Meanwhile a general public largely conditioned through western cultural values into thinking that primary colours are for children and that competition and violence is 'adult', plump for the SONY and MS's adult machines over and over again. Until SONY implode or MS bail out having realised they can't create a SONY Multimedia box as good as SONY's.

PES 2013 on the PS3 is our go to game between me and my mates. With all the updates and the option files it's (in Harry's terms) t'riific. Trouble is most gamers play the demo's and leave it at that. PES13 is my fav footy game since PES6. Easily. Glad this is coming to the 3DS at least. PES gets serious game time on my 3DS. Full modes too Maybe the Animal Crossing boom has seen the 3DS come back on to Konami's radar? Bizarre change either way. Anyway - PES14 is looking fabulous and next year I hope we see a Wii U iteration.

Games You Tried To Like But Didn't
tapedeck replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD remakes. I tried so hard to love them but the dire controls and oppressive nature of both games just didn't click with me. I think my own hype (through press and gamer reviews) killed it for me. Oh and...Okami on Wii. Played about 5/6hrs and just wasn't bothered about it at all. Seemed laborious and again, didn't click. Beautiful style though. -
I love the idea of having a console with the classics 'built-in' in years to come having purchased digital versions of titles. However, they should do more price reductions post-release. Like those Wii U launch games that should reflect their in-store price drops. I saw Darksiders for £10 in GAME - if that was on the store for £10 it would be an instant purchase for ease of use.
-
Should be £5 on the store...useless release?
-
Not when the series has sold 44million copies... Due to this fact alone, the Wii Fit trainer may possibly be more recognisable than many other classic characters!
-
Damnit. Will still attempt to convey my frustrations with them in a constructive manner. Thing is, we're generally speaking to staffers who aren't decision makers. We need a hotline to Iwata's desk!
-
Yeah, I'll be complaining - but having read their T&C's they seem to have their backs well covered. May send them pics as proof. I'm also 100% certain my 3DS was linked to my club Nintendo account so don't know why it logged out before this promo. The fact that it doesn't indicate if you are 'linked' to your account or not in a better manner is poor design too. Perhaps when I changed my SD card it unlinked my account. Unsure... I generally think when you spend £60 to purchase two digital games, it's an absolute farce that they couldn't recognise this at least. I've never really minded their archaic digital principals thinking they wouldnt really affect me as a consumer, but now having been sucker punched by them I'm tempted to boycott digital Nintendo goods in the future. Any decent company would come to an amicable outcome for their customer. We'll see how good NoE are...

Bought DKC and AC on the eShop but my 3DS wasn't linked to my club Nintendo account...wasn't showing up so mailed Ninty... Response: Please note that this system does not work retroactively, this means that any games that you purchased before linking the console to Club Nintendo will not be able to be registered So...can't get the free game. (already had luigi), What a fudging absolute joke!!
-
Anyone else who bought AC via GAME (or digitally) had any issues with it registering under your club Nintendo account? Neither this or DKC Returns are showing up on my Club Nintendo meaning I can't get a code for the So Many Games promotion. This happened to my GF with her 3DS and the previous promotion where it wouldn't register and so we missed out on the free game. Nintendo took eons to reply last time and I've not had an email response having emailed them yesterday. Bit worried as the promo ends shortly. Think I'll buy retail in the future as it has been nothing but a ball ache when it comes to Club Nintendo and the 3DS!

Got the VB today. Felt like a kick in the bells.
