I remember chairdriver used to use "tart" all the time. Currently, "lovely" is my fave. As in "alright, moi luhvlee!", like a pirate, but without the accent. or "bitch", with any prefix desired. Like "ugly", "fucking", "lonely"... Or bastard and ditto. Or cunt and ditto.

Changeling 9/10 An excellent film. Very engaging and it never sags. The feeling of desperation is tangible. Written (though it's a true story) by J. Michael Stracyzinksi (sp?), all you comic books fans.

I know you've said you're depressed at the moment, but not everyone else is...so, it's not that hard to believe that a "dreary" songs wins matches. (Tbh, Call IT Off is hardly dreary)

Yeah. I loved Morrisons relaunch of New X-Men. Loved Quitley's art too (he did a lot of the early stories of it), and best of all was his bringing in of Emma Frost. One of THE character turnarounds of the 00's, in terms of coming from the C-list to the A-list.

Done NO work...damn. Saw Changeling today, which was bloddy good. I love Angelina Jolie as an actress, but I don't find her sexy in any way. But she was great in this. Cleared a space for our Xmas tree (couldnt just move the dining table this year, as we have a desk in the livign room there now, so we're shifting the TV sideways and packing away the game consoles), and now trying to think of something good to do for tomorrows art lesson.(s) Bought my first christmas present today! It's my secret santa gift, for my inter-family secret santa (I got my dad). I bought him Donnie Darko, as we trade DVD recommendations, and after watching Eraserhead together, I thought it would be another apt choice of film for him to watch/enjoy/think about.

Several wonderful points. ------- My favourite thing I've ever seen. I love when artists get bored of thier own songs, so fuck with them, for shits and giggles; ------- What's everyone's favourite film soundtracks? Not just theme songs or whatever, actual OST's that you consider great. I personally love the Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis, and the (classic) soundtrack to Romeo + Juliet (1996).

Feels funny though, as some people find you annoying (Zander said he wanted to kill you, then claimed he didn't mean it), but I don't (well not my perception). I find your pointless laziness and aversion to spending money annoying. But then in another way it's lovely.

I was thinking about this the other day. We never truly know what people say about us when we leave the room. (Unless they tell us, which just makes us feel worse if it's bitchy...ignorance is bliss etc) I have no idea how people perceive me. In some ways I'd like to know, in others I wouldn't. But I'm not fully confident or comfortable in my own skin liek other people are.

N-E Culture Club - Lost In Translation 11th Jan
Paj! replied to jayseven's topic in General Chit Chat
While analysing books loses that fun and free experience of simply reading it front to back then putting it away, by not analysing books, one often loses out on a great amount. (Depends what books of course) I struggle to believe that what themes and ideas I discovered within the novels I 've analysed weren't intentional. These books being, Heart Of Darkness, Franklin's Tale, Hamlet, The Tempest etc. That said, I have one of the best English teachers I've ever encountered. -

Yeah it's very good, actually. A really strong debut, and it shows she very versatile, as there's some tracks aren't far off pure pop, but then some definitely alternative punky sounding ones. Question; I made a playlist/mix for Triforce_Keeper, but I'm not sure how to get it uploaded to a site like Megaupload, as it has to be zipped. How do I zip it? Also, it's 24 songs...will that be too many to let it upload?

Yeah I said to get it, but then Chair lent me it originally, so effectively we owe him both! Yeah, I overall prefer it less to the last 2 albums, but some the tracks strike a chord due to the traditional production, like Living Room, Underwater, Terrible Storm etc. Love them.

Quirkiness and personality.

I prefer everything on The Warning. But to be honest, Hot Chip leave me alternatively hot and cold.

Leona Lewis and Alexandra's voices are different, Leona's being wistful and sweet, compared to the punchier tones of Alexandra. Alexandra DOES have personality though, a lot more than Leona ever displayed on the show. Sad thing is, this year has had such good talent on it that she seems forgotten a lot of the time, and she'd definitely win in other years. --- Also, anyone find Il Divo terribly dull? But then I'm cynical of the opera/classical genre anyway. Not much creativity in it...it's just the same songs recycled over and over and over...

Her voice was unique, and being a fan of unique voices (virtually all my favourite artists have unusual voices), I can tell you that I appreciated her success in the competiton, as it signalled that the public had more taste than in previous years. However, she never found her comfort zone. She wasn't Amy Winehouse in style, but nor was she Cat Power. For unusual voices, you need some kind of comfort zone (unless you have a powerful AND unique voice), in which case you could adapt (Bjork). I like Man In The Mirror, Call Me and White Flag. I remember liking the one where she was on the swing too. That's it. The others she couldn't command to be her own.

Technically Alexandra is the best singer, Diana had an..interesting voice. However, it was violently hit-and-miss.
