  1. AGH! VIDEOS NOT WORKING PLEASE GO TO YOUTUBE MANUALLY Anyway; Vote: Hallelujah So good.
  2. Well...kinda still applies. It's good, but I preferred Violet Hill IIRC (can't fully judge, don't know them well enough to).
  3. RULES; Basically, 63 (and one randomly chosen song) tracks have been nominated by our forum members to go head to head against one another. All matches have been ranomly decided using a number randomizer thingie, sp it's fair. 1. Before voting for which song you choose, you MUST listen to both songs in FULL. If you see a band you love against an unknown, that is not an excuse to instantly vote for that band. Another point of this whole game is to expose new music to people. Base it truthfully on your favourite, not on who you THINK'll be your favourite. 2. No flaming, not that I imagine there will be. 3. If all 3 of your choices are knocked out, please continue to post! You agreed to do so by nominating. Plus it's good for expanding musical horizons. 4. have fun, it's a game blah blah JUST VOTE. 5. ATM, i'm going at 2 threads created a day, one closed a day. Or actually just 1 open, 1 closed. Whatever. ----- Match 7 Use Somebody - Kings Of Leon Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley ----- Match 1: Led Zeppelin vs. Train Match 2: Faith No More vs. Oasis Match 3: Sigur Ros vs. Foreign Beggars Match 4: Maximum The Hormone vs. Santana Match 5: Avril Lavigne vs. Lady GaGa Match 6: ?
  4. Well it's ok. I mean...I listened to the album once through, and it was a better listen than whatever album was before it (only other one I've fully listened to), but it's a bit like a radio-friendly version of bands like Radiohead etc. That kinda soothing, disconnected vocal. *shrugs* I'm just not a huge fan.
  5. I hope you're talking about Black Cherry. Cause Supernature isn't as good. At all. Neither is Seventh Tree. Black Cherry is about equal to Felt Mountain tbh.
  6. Urgh at most of that. Go to iTnes store, there's a bit saying "iTunes 2008: Yours and our favourites" which gives a better selections of the cream of the crop this year. --- @EEEEEEEnuh, no problemo.
  7. PORTISHEAD Seriously. Though I'd start with Dummy. Classic, and more accessible then Third or their self-titled album. GOLDFRAPP I think you'd like Felt Mountain, their first album. Try that out. They're most popualr stuff is their dance songs, but see if you like their best album first. LAURA MARLING Amazing. Best debut of 2008...hell, best album of 2008! (tied with Portishead's new one) Deerhunter, Yeasayer....just thinking in terms of fairly newish music.
  8. Radiohead = 7 Polysics = 5
  9. At least ask for Vespertine by Bjork too. But then you HAVE to have Medulla. And Post. lol. Only non-essential Bjork album is Debut, imo. Just her weakest (still amazing).
  10. Chicken is one of the lovliest meats though.
  11. Sometimes I wish more people possessed Flawed Opinion detectors.
  12. A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss) Their mini-album.
  13. Relishing the fact I finally have an iTunes store account; Bought the Glasvegas "Christmas" album, which is the new bonus disc attached to the latest versions of the album (which I already have and love). Bought Future Lovers/ I Feel Love (Live) by Madonna...one of the purest aural moments of pleasure I've ever heard, never had the official version, only the inferior tour demo. Bought the music video for Single Ladies by Beyonce, as it's a feat of dancing.
  14. I cant just spend money on live album willy-nilly. I've seen them live anyway! So I kinda did the real deal, in a way. Just started listening to Hit The Floor by You Say Party! We Say Die!, and I bought All Hour Cymbals by Yeasayer, which I'm eager to listen to.
  15. CLOSED: Sigur Ros wins.
  16. CLOSED: Chu Chu wins.

Match 6: ? Why Polysics was kinda fun, this is one of my favourite Radiohead tracks from my favourite Radiohead album. Fake Plastic Trees.
  18. I have to say, that was a tour-de-force of a performance. Obviously the back-up singers did the chorus, but what a show.
  19. Well obviously The Kills >>>>>>>>>>>> The Killers. But yeah, I loved Hot Fuss...the others have been good. At best. With moments of greatness.
  20. Wasn't his that wolf kick? Or am I imagining things?
  21. I agree that very few stay in your mind, but I don't like Human in any case.
  22. Dunno If I missed it, but was there ever any discussion about The Killers' new album? I like it alright, as I've played it through a few times (easier to do than with Sam's Town), but it's nothing spectacular. a.k.a it's not Hot Fuss.
  23. I think everyone knows that the public voting behaviour has little to do with talent. I haven't listened to her first song, but I hate her inability to string parts together in a song. She can hold notes ok, but one note to the next is so disconnected as to be jarring.
  24. Fixed it for you.
  25. I have no idea what versions one can get...I'll look that up now actually. EDIT: Ooh...yeah, getting vol 1 and 2 of the ultimate editions would be cool.
