I'm sure it's terribly uncool, but I really, really love Hot Fuss by The Killers. Really solid start to finish, and I love how crunchy it is. Their msot recent one is really bad in comparison and Sam's Town is good, but different. I'm lodged betwixt two trunks from Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine until On Top. After that I lever myself out, but it's still smoking.

I think they're very well-executed chart-aimed songs that succeed on every level they try to..succeed...in *trails off*. But yeah. The production on the ones I mentioned is sharp, the songs are catchy yeah, vocals fine, etc etc. And they didn't sound dime-a-dozen at the time they were released. I'm not calling them great art.

Lies. A lot of her singles are great pop songs. Umbrella, Disturbia, S.O.S etc. Just fun shizz. I hated her X Factor performance though. She couldn't really sing.

I thought she said they wanted her to be more "inidivdual" or "experimental" or something, which most art-y schools will want their students to be. Not that it was bad.

Fuck you, Edinburgh College of Art. Didn't even want to go to you anyway. I hate UCAS. I don't want to go anywhere else, but I need to find another place to apply to that does an art-based film course, but a first year first. Got Dundee, Aberdeen and Kingston (which doesn't, but sounds great) down. I want to do film, but haven't got any film experience. I just assume that's bad.

http://www.samburns.co.uk/ In the Lost Fun Zone between Musselburgh and Prestonpans, 3 mins from the race course/my aunt's house (can't remember if you've been there). It's good to know about, cause it feels like I could plan a great sculpture made from found crap and not worry about finding said crap.

Went to a scrapyard of things for the home (i.e, intact things, not car scraps). It was stunning. So much of worth. 50p! And it's out of print so I grabbed with such force. 21 forks, £2

Batman (1989) Fine...good performaces, but not as good as Batman Returns. At points is stiff and kinda uninviting/unengaging. As much as I love Prince and quite like the Batman soundtrack out of context, in the film, it sounds so out of place. It's fine when they're dancing in the museum, but there's the pointlessly long bit on the parade float that is obviousl yto show off the song playing, but it's not that good so kinda seems really "...". I like the script/dialogue. 7.5/10 Aeon Flux I was never as personally offended by this as others seem to be. It's not great, but it's short, so you get over it's flaws. Some nice visuals and cool action sequences, as well as mildly interesting sci-fi scheming that doesn't really work once you've seen it once. 5/10

It actually wasn't. But kinda applies now that you mention it. :p But then I might also have hypcritically chastised you had you used Greek mythology, saying it was "cliched". So yeah. But then, less so, cause at least with Greek Myth, there's an established kinda knowledge of gods and mystical power and stuff, rather than it just "being there".

Best thing is to get one of those little books of artists/styles/whatever. Just an anthology of lotsz of different styles and images will help quickly work out which ones attract you and which don't etc. Searching on the net means you have to type in something you actively want to see in the first place, so really opening up to new ideas or experiences. (Not saying you're doing that) I mean, artists draw people "peculiarly" in different ways. It could be as extreme(ly sparse) as;

It looks like it's shit. But then...I do love Greek mythology so much more than generic magic.

My face only contorted into anything resembling a smile at the Claire outtakes. The impression of the vaginal discharge woman might have been smile-inducing, but I think it was purely visual, and not in the right context. I hated it though. Watched it all though ReZ.

Don't see how it's a rip-off a Harry Potter rather than just ANOTHER "average teen boy discovers unbelievable power/responsibilities coincidentally occuring at the same time as a cataclysmic event that only with his help can he stop". Oh. A bit like it then. But then it reeks of shit like Darren Shan, the Vampire's Receptionist and The Spiderweb Chronicles or whatever.

Pretty sure it's sans the parenthesis bit officially. Maybe it wasn't when it leaked or something.

Yeah, or at least, it just feels more contrived because it's in a certain "style". Same shiz though.

One of my favourite albums ever, I've just realised is, Back To Black I'm really not interested in. The singles are nice, but not really my thing, and I'm so not interested in her lifestyle (did see her live and she was good tbf). But this is REALLY good. Different style to B2B, suits her better imo. Her voice isn't so "argh" in your face. Better songwriting too imo. Really lush, funky and jazzy in the right amount, not OTT like B2B.
