This has actually been posted about in the LucasArts thread already, but just so you can all see it, a higher res and quality version: http://visun.de/bued/revo.mov

I came across this on another site, it's not force-feedback that's being rumoured, it's force-meters. It's a less complex version of the motion tracking in the FHC, it will be capable of detecting movement of the nunchuck though not its position; this would enable you to carry out movement commands separate from the FHC when needed, i.e. when pointing a gun/torch or swinging a sword.

You get the bongos, it's actually Donkey Konga 2, had mine delivered already.

Better version here: http://visun.de/bued/revo.mov

Four times a year...

Apparently it was part of the latest Consolevania episode, unless it's been pulled from their site too: http://www.consolevania.com

According to IGN, it's not a sequel to the PS2 version, it's a Revolution port of the PS2 version. In the IGN Revolution podcast they see it as a slightly worrying sign, some developers/publishers seem to be classing the Revolution as a current gen system, when it comes to development priorities. It's worth a listen: http://revolution.ign.com/articles/702/702744p1.html

What about the pulling the controller back to reload weapons? That sounds like depth sensing to me.

I've blown up sections of the four images which show the bottom end of the FHC. I'll leave it up to you to decide if there is anything there:
-
Cue commercial suicide, by alienating third party developers again.
-
I've just realised why there's a circular hole on the FHC in those pics, now, that's obviously where the wire from the devkit plugs in. In turn that means there's no way there's an IR transmitter in the front, so all those people who keep on thinking it's IR based can finally shut up about it.
-
My guess is those are definitely devkit controllers, I recall from the IGN piece that they said the devkit controllers use ethernet cable type connnectors (as seen here) and that they will be different for the final design.

Red Steel -1ST Rev game screenshots in gameinformer
YenRug replied to guarana's topic in Nintendo Gaming
So what do you want them to do, instead? Point downards to turn left? Point left to turn right? Point right to fire? The whole point of the FHC is to introduce instinctive control to games, to do what feels natural to achieve an affect on screen; abstract button pressing is what Nintendo are trying to get away from, because it turns off non-videogamers from trying games. You say it's obvious to do a particular action with the controller to achieve something, to me that says the developers have succeeded in their aims. -
So publishers and developers are going to be unable to talk about their games, even after they're released? Hmmm, I think I see a flaw in your logic. Quite simply, NDA's can expire if it is written into the contract; you're probably getting confused over the kind of NDA that an employee would sign to work in sensitive position, that would normally be an indefinite agreement.

I think Spong, and some others, are presuming that we're going to suddenly get a flood of Revolution info. I think it's more likely that we're just going to see a huge swathe of game announcements, probably accompanied by screens and videos; at the same time, it will probably all have to be vetted to make sure that no more Revolution info is revealed, inadvertantly.
-
Has there been any mention of a DVD with NOM, again? There was meant to be one with Issue 2, but it got dropped, I'm just wondering if maybe there's a reason for that, i.e. there will be a shedload of Revolution videos with Issue 3?

Nintendo inovation: invensions and marked introductions!
YenRug replied to elitemario's topic in Nintendo Gaming
You can guarantee that the dongle will lock you down to the normal geographical regions, that will be something that Nintendo is contractually obliged to do. The hope is that it's not set within the console itself, too; if it's just in the dongle you could import them from other regions. -
You obviously missed Iwata's comment, in his GDC speech, about allowing new titles to be published via the online system; it was overshadowed by the news of Sega and TurboGFX games being made available on it, too.

DCK, you're quickly heading towards being a troll, to tell you the truth. Tell me this, is the Revolution going to have rubbish graphics, or just graphics that aren't as hi-res as the Xbox360 or PS3? You keep on banging on how bad it's going to be without any evidence to support your arguments. You keep on saying how it's only a souped up Gamecube, when the chips have almost certainly been given other advances other than just a speed increase. You said, in another thread, how the 1.5 times speed increase would probablyt only lead to a 1.25 times performance gain; the reality is likely that the 1.5 times speed increase with an improved chip design would lead to a 2 times performance gain, or even more. Quite frankly, you have been brainwashed by the HD=Better hype being spouted by MS and Sony. Either extricate your cranium from where the sun doesn't shine, or wait until you actually have something to support your beliefs, i.e. E3. Actually, it would be preferable if you did both.

With regard to Reggie's comment about not being able to use the FHC with GC games, I'm guessing it's more a case of there's no automatic functionality that will allow you to play a GC game with the FHC. If a GC game is coded to include FHC options, when played in the Revolution, then there's no reason why it can't.

I belive you will find the chat is live at 7pm (GMT), that would mean those other languages are in a repeat after translations have been done.
-
He also seems to have a problem with referring to GDC correctly, too...
-
Nintendork, you need to read a bit deeper on those points that you try to use in arguments. Whilst DS and Revolution both use the same WiFi protocols, at least that is what has been revealed so far, Nintendo have confirmed that the DS has a restricted data bandwidth because of the wireless hardware that it contains.

Zelda delayed to Autumn and Rev confirmed for 2006
YenRug replied to penic99's topic in Nintendo Gaming
If they do two version, they need to release it on the same day as the Revolution becomes available, plain and simple. If you release the GC version first, you're forcing some people to buy that one first, followed by the Revolution version when that becomes available.
