I'm really enjoying it! My only complaint is the framerate on players in the distance. It's shockingly bad. Like 5 FPS. It's almost impossible to line up a decent shot because of this. The art style is cool, but also not a patch on Nintendo's stuff. It looks pants in comparison to Splatoon 2, for example. These aee minor complaints though, the game is really fun and I'm really glad it's on Switch. Looking forward to the improvements. Finished second last night in a battle royal and it was deliciously tense. The guy came out the storm and sniped me from behind. Heinously dishonorable, but it was good fun. Seems like it's tough as nails to actually win.

Interesting point on RFN this week that the Yoshi delay is maybe artificial. With Pokemon and Smash coming out at the end of the year, Nintendo have pushed Yoshi back until 2019 to maximise sales. This is because of the massive success of Kirby and DK:TF, which both had excellent sales at the start of the year. Makes sense really, add to the fact that there was a playable demo at last year's E3, it can't be too far off completion, especially now.

So I had a look at the "detailed information" from our little venture into 4-player league battles the other night. For that 2-hour time slot, we ranked 38th!! ...Out of 44 teams Good job all round @Glen-i @RedShell "I'll get you next time!"

Was good fun! Crazy vibe in league mode. We didn't have any really close games, either got destroyed or destoryed them. Would love to try it again sometime!

Found the Xenoblade Pro controller for 40 quid, worth it? Heard it had a good D-Pad. Does anyone know of any other improvements? I already have the launch pro controller and never play multiplayer. Is it really worth it for a SLIGHTLY sexier pad?

Over the course of last night and today I've gone from a "meh, maybe when it's half price" to "Day 1!" Absolutely fantastic demo, well done Nintendo, they've sold me on this completely. I've always been a much bigger fan of the Golf series, but loved Tennis on the 64, never played the GC version and almost threw up when I saw what content the Wii U version was packing. The mechanics are solid, the gimmicks add a fantastic risk / reward element that never feels cheap. The characters handle differently and suit different play styles (though I'd like to see Chain Chomp nerfed significantly). Looking forward to trying the story mode and seeing what other stadiums and characters they include, hoping for a lot of variation. I've just won my first tournament and I think I'm gonna call time on this demo, as much as I appreciate Camelot's unique approach to in-game music, I don't know how much more of this tune I can take... Despite my pitifully slow connection I've only encountered minor lag, and after finding out you could reject opponents, I just said no to anyone with 2 bars or lower and it's been silky smooth ever since, and I always managed to find another game within seconds. Excellent. Long may pre-release weekend demos / trials continue.
