  1. Parents blame videogames yet buy 18s for their children. So really they never have an argument that these games are influencing children. And that's insane that the Daily Star could ever consider that legit. Oh wait, it's the Daily Star...
  2. My belief is what seems extremely clear to me (and it's a somewhat nice thought compared to the 'permanent black' theories flying around). You and I are composed of atoms that have derived from the universe. When a woman is pregnant, amino acids from the mother (which have mostly been derived from food) are used to form proteins in the baby, and most other cell components are derived from the mother too. Put simply, we are derived from this universe, will return to this universe, and parts of our body will form other beings again. That's a certainty. Sure, if part of us contributed to 'consciousness' of a being again, we wouldn't remember a thing. But our very building blocks will not always be in a state of 'pitch black', so to speak.
  3. If you go for all the bananas in this game, you won't look back fondly. I did this a couple of years ago and found it such a tiring grind, constantly switching monkeys for this and that. Banjo Tooie was a bit like this but not as bad. They worked out that by not letting you grab everything in one run through they could artificially extend the length of the game. Not fun.
  4. Good night and godspeed. ...as an admin =(
  5. It is not meh, how much did you play? It's a lot more fun than gta, that's for sure, and to me felt very different to gta4 which I honestly didn't think was that great. Yet to find anyone who owns it who doesn't think it's great. Maybe rent it?
  6. Red dead redemption, please. Amazing game and bags of fun online. And some really good dlc coming up for it too.
  7. So basically, a load of people disagree with you because you're talking garbage and to respond you directly insult someone. Good going, you have every right to call someone a dick.
  8. You know, not descending into insults because someone disagrees with you is a sign of maturity. Something you clearly don't show.
  9. I've nearly got all 242 stars on Galaxy 2. :/ It's not that I don't like Nintendo, it's that you can't blame forumers for not posting in Nintendo forums if they don't want to.
  10. Hi I'm Sheikah let's do this - Also called Sheiker by special friends - Real name is Daniel - Born and raised in Hale/Altrincham (Cheshire) - Got a 2:1 in Cell Biology at Manchester - Nearly have a Masters in Biology - About to start a 4 year PhD in London - Used to go out with someone who was batshit crazy. Like literally. If you so much as said that you liked to eat meat you would be firebombed, neutered and shot. Temper tantrums and mental issues ahoy - Now have a girlfriend who is a polar opposite in terms of personality. Woot. Also booked first class tickets to go to her family house (away from uni) next week for her b'day. Going to bake her a really nice cake! - My avatar is Brook from One Piece. Yohohoho! - Been around here for a good while now. I apparently can be really snappy with people sometimes, for which I am sorry. But I've a kind heart (of gold). Best of luck to you. - Likes squash, PS3, cuddles
  11. Yeah but I guess it's been a case of there having been more games released and so more zones. But the core concept of it is the same. If anyone has ever tried Second Life, it does a lot of things right that Home doesn't. Not that it's great (in fact, some of it can be pretty worrying), but it's a lot better. Particularly how people can create their own worlds, avatars and objects, and there's a much bigger sense of community. A while back I went on a Midgar world where people had faithfully reconstructed Midgar, adding some of their own places too. I think if Home went down a similar route, keeping its level of graphics, it could be really something: Although the nostalgic joy inside of me clearly is longing for this sort of thing.
  12. Your last post before this was on 17th May. This forum shakeup has brought you back to the forum! Hurrah! It is indeed tremendous.
  13. I went on it not long ago...and it really hasn't. The problem with Home is that no matter what they add to it, it still relies on people and thus falls flat on its arse. It's full of perverts and basically... nothing really happening. People stading around, people continously dancing to some sort of background advert or people all cramming into game areas and having to wait to play a game. The games aren't even that good either. It's more or less a game developer's show off space. When they have an upcoming game and release a zone for it it's nice to see a themed area but it wears off really quickly. It's also really slow to load up areas; the idea of loading up a bogged down area just to view trailers also fails tremendously. When they can make this thing seamless, it might be something. But as it is, it's just terrible.
  14. I don't get why you keep stating that it's a Nintendo forum when this clearly has no impact whatsoever on what people should feel inclined to post. People have just as much right to post about general topics than they do Nintendo topics. The website is a different matter, but the forums are individually separated so that the most important focus of each is the individual title they hold - e.g. general chat rather than Nintendo-Europe. You may find people are arguing you down because you are using a mere title of a forum, something fairly trivial, as a point to why Nintendo views should be more 'heard' on this forum or hold higher importance. Which most people would disagree with you about.
  15. Well there's nothing wrong with that - real life issues are far more important than Nintendo. If you're not happy that more people care about general discussion than Nintendo then blame Nintendo's crappy shift to casual audiences; people who don't particularly care to sign up to Nintendo forums and stick around long. It's much more enjoyable to get to know members in-depth rather than find out which Wii title they're most looking forward to. Yes, I sometimes want to know about their gaming interests, but I don't see any reason why gaming should be the main focus for anyone who doesn't want it to be.
  16. That's genius. Home is the biggest pile of shit, it really is.
  17. That's fine; Nintendo mostly sucks these days anyway. (can of worms hurhur) I don't think people should feel any inclination to visit certain boards because it is primarily a Nintendo site. Think of it this way: minus all the people who don't go in Nintendo threads from the total member count and you have even fewer members. It's better to have more people; ones that don't visit Nintendo topics, than not to have them at all.
  18. I'm currently a student (which doesn't so much class as a job) doing a biology research masters. Although I do work part time in a bakery on Sundays, which I finish in 3 weeks. From September I'll be a full-time paid scientist at UCL in London (with time in New Zealand and America) doing a 4-year PhD. Which may kill me but is incredibly exciting either way.
  19. Well Firefox is basically as minimal as you want it to be. Which for me is fairly minimal, but still has a wider range of add-ons to choose from. Not sure if it exists for Chrome, but in FF I installed an Add-on that shrunk everything in the browser to make it look extremely minimalistic and ideal for a smaller screen.
  20. I used Chrome for quite a while some time ago, basically when Firefox screwed up on my old computer. It's good; very neat in appearance, but doesn't have the same add-on support that Firefox does.
  21. To be fair, 10 people is possibly a third of users posting in general any one night. It also feels like there's quite a lot of comic lovers around here. I can see why they have closed all this - it's to get people to think of new ideas rather than follow continuous patterns and constantly spend lots of time in the same topics.
  22. I should be on around Friday and Saturday. I'll drop all the weapons, pick them all up, wait until X number of trophies ding (X being the number of weapons dropped) then drop them all again so I can pick up.
  23. It only takes a few hours if you delete the game data (but don't delete your save). :p I was getting around 2.2k exp per 1 and a half mins at Solomon's Folly. On 360 that hideout doesn't exist but twin rocks is also good, and getting rid of the patch gives you a lot more XP. Might seem a bit OTT, but I really cannot be fucked playing with gimped XP considering people playing a month ago were getting good XP.
