I highly doubt whoever is me is sane. :p
-
@The Peeps does this mean that we are to lynch the actually insane players who may have sane ID badges?
-
Was it Metang? That was the same for me in Jimbob's safari.

So Gone Home, the critically acclaimed (and down right awesome) interactive story game is reduced to £7.49 for one day. Strongly urge everyone to get this, it's a real gem. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/steam-offers-gone-home-for-50-off-7-49-1687549

Oh, yeah. But they're slow as hell. It's just nowhere near as fast as it should be for a console released so recently.
-
The major downside to the interface so far for me is the slowness of clicking things and waiting quite a few seconds for it to load, and generally everything being separated (no/little multi tasking, you have to switch between sections of the menu). Maybe I expected too much.

After beating the elite 4 + credits...then go to the train station in the main city to go to a new area.

ReZ's Safari also has Rufflet, weirdly though he wasn't online on my friend list when I encountered it. Maybe they just need to have cleared the elite 4 to unlock the third safari pokemon.
-
Grazza - Espurr, Grumpig. Ashley - Electrode, Electabuzz (yay) Guy - Abra, Espurr Darren (dazzybee?) Mawile, Kirlia Emerl (Emerald Emblem?) - Emolga, Stunkfish Dcubed - Dunsparce, Minccino Ville - Pumpkaboo, Shuppet Mokong - Floatzel, Octillery Londragon - Espurr, Grumpig (clone of Grazza) Maidens - Fraxure, Dragonair Oli (who?) Grats, watching over you I thought you wouldn't do it. Hats off to esequiel on this one. Also FYI before...me and Yvonne target switched the exact same people on that fateful night. Rendering no change in targets. It wasn't some daft ploy to add suspicion on someone by me. :p Opposite alignment target switches made things complicated though, with priority having to go to someone (and Jimbob even PMing me asking me what he should do...letting me know there was another target switcher out there in the process).
-
So can you visit the Safari of any friends @ReZourceman? Or just people who have unlocked safaris themselves? (I'm guessing the latter since Daft is up there and I think he only just got the game). Only 2 unique Pokemon in each safari? What have I got?
-
Brilliant idea...I'm yet to get that far but will add my safari mon's to a list for people when I get there.

See this is what I mean about the nostalgia thing. Having never played PD, the modern one looks a million times better to me. The first is just blocky crap. None of this comparison stuff will really apply when you consider in the context of this discussion, the vast majority of games will be new and there'll be no nostalgia clouding judgement over whether it looks better than an original. Because there won't be an original. Either way, modern upgrades show that they will look better providing they are done properly. Also I don't think the LTTP example is relevant since from what I've seen, the models are still better than on the 64 (plus it's not true 3D).
-
I'll raise you on that badly shaded gash with this: Other than nostalgia clouding judgement, the modernised version looks so much better to me. Regarding average gamer...if Nintendo don't go with what most people want, then they're kind of failing their fan base. I was pointing out that going back to a graphical era that probably most don't want isn't really a good idea.
-
The people who prefer FFIX's appearance mostly would be due to something else (pre-rendered backgrounds vs rendered environments). I would probably agree, I like the pre-rendered backgrounds. But they can be done in conjunction with modern 3D character/ enemy models. As for the 3D models themselves... 'FFIX vs FFXIII' again brings in bias since people generally loved the characters in IX. Fairest/most relevant comparison would be if they had the original IX models and then remade them by modern standards. I bet if you showed them to people who never had played the original IX (so no nostalgia) they would prefer the modern ones. It's pure nostalgia dude. We remember what they used to look like and we have a certain affection for it. The average gamer isn't going to think the same way...so I don't think going back to this era in terms of graphics would be a good thing for the masses.
-
That's not really a good comparison... they took a pretty controversial graphical style with Nuts and Bolts. If it was a comparison between BK and a BK game remade with the same graphical style but high res models and textures (not just what they did in the HD remake) then I'd take the modern version for sure. The only reason I might feel something for the old appearance would be purely down to nostalgia. 64 graphics were not good. They were like the teething years of 3D. One of the reasons why I think SNES looks great is because the 2D format is kinda timeless, and in many ways SNES was quite advanced in terms of 2D presentation (particularly with games like LTTP). For 3D though, it's one of those things where blocky characters and low frame rate didn't result in something flattering. Easier way to compare this - do people prefer the graphics of 3D DS games (e.g. Mario 64 and Final Fantasy III) or 3D 3DS games like Monster Hunter, Super Mario 3D Land, etc? The two are a bit like comparing 3D on the N64 with the GameCube.

Helmets seatbelts and maybe something to do with age(thrip)
Sheikah replied to Oxigen_Waste's topic in General Chit Chat
@Oxigen_Waste Purely anecdotal. Maybe those people without seatbelt enforcement are subject to an entirely different environment (traffic differences, general differences in driver mentality; all could differ by population). You don't have proof that having no seatbelt enforcement means there's the same number of deaths/serious incidents. If someone is spotted not wearing a seatbelt and pulled over and warned, at the very least there will be a higher chance they'll wear it in future. They're not going to use a seatbelt even less as a result of the warning out of some weird spite. Either way like I said above, so long as not using a seatbelt can have such a host of knock on effects on healthcare services and others, they will continue to enforce the law. And rightly so! Regarding buses, it's very unlikely given at the speed they travel that you'd die. I agree with the latter. Helmet safety has not really been properly proven, especially given there are tendencies for drivers to get closer to helmet wearing cyclists. -
Helmets seatbelts and maybe something to do with age(thrip)
Sheikah replied to Oxigen_Waste's topic in General Chit Chat
Oxigen your very argument is ridiculous! Of course there could be a situation where there are limited healthcare personnel or a close by ambulance visits you instead of someone else seriously injured. Or maybe there's even limited availability of, say, a rare blood type in a specific hospital/clinic and you use it up. Or the team tasked with fixing you up in hospital will be engaged and unable to treat anyone else. The point is that there is no such thing as selfless non use of seatbelts. It will always have an impact on other people... enforcing these laws makes it much less likely the worst case scenarios (however unlikely you think they are) will come to fruition. When your argument comes down to "probably I won't affect anyone else too drastically" then if pretty much falls on its arse. Prank calling 999 to get an emergency service sent out "probably" won't affect a genuine call out made at the same time. Yet it's illegal since in rare situations it could impede other call outs. -
To be fair, if you get a traded mon it levels up much quicker. And having more different owner derived Pokemon improves your chances of winning the lottery.
-
You can also deposit it on the GTS in exchange for another Kadabra. You'd end up with an Alakazam (although it wouldn't have been your original Pokémon).

Helmets seatbelts and maybe something to do with age(thrip)
Sheikah replied to Oxigen_Waste's topic in General Chit Chat
Absolutely not. Your tax money helps pay for a variety of things and it's doubtful the tax you pay would go anywhere towards the expense incurred if you got yourself in a serious injury while also paying for other services you need. Even if your tax did stretch that far, it's the fact you're using life saving services that are needed elsewhere to help people in unavoidable emergency situations, which renders your argument moot. You can never, ever claim that using a seatbelt should be a matter of personal choice. You would affect so many people through your foolishness. -
Sweet Dem0, now get Persona 4.

What if the government doesn't want healthcare resources wasted / police time and money spent dealing with your mangled slurry of a carcass? What if you kill the person sitting in front? Just think how your liberty can actually impinge upon others, and it's not hard to see why there are laws enforced.
