True, I'm just putting forward the case that it's not a black and white 'Wii U is cheaper'. It depends what you're looking for.

You say it's cheaper but Nintendo games are notoriously expensive, often staying at £35+ for years (NSMB/Galaxy being examples). You also don't get lots of included games each month like with Plus. To be honest, the PS4 might cost you £130 more (for the console) but in terms of value, you're getting a lot more. So in short, while the console is cheaper I don't necessarily think it works out to be categorically cheaper in the long run.

I don't see how you can be proud of them not adopting certain things though. They can still try to push things like motion controls while also developing a decent online system, upping storage space and making the hardware power exciting to the consumer/devs. Some things should be copied if it's something people want.

I think you need to stop over analysing things O_W. Stories that leave lasting impressions on us are often down to what they make us feel rather than possessing any complexity or novel storytelling elements.

@Clownferret there's a host of stuff that Nintendo need to copy but don't, such as a robust online infrastructure (copy the PS3's and not PS4's if they want to keep it free), accounts system and storage space, but don't. The fact Nintendo get copied but don't copy much themselves is a very bad thing. It doesn't mean that that they are innovation kings because they mostly just seem to get copied, it's more indicative of their refusal to modernise and adapt.

Yeah come on, show hate - really? Is that what you interpret when a company cancels DLC for the Wii U? That they personally hate the console? They're withdrawing because there's no money in it because Nintendo truly fucked up with their console.

Anyone looking forward to Titanfall on the 360 will have to wait another 2 weeks longer than after the X1 version hits as apparently the last gen version needs more time. The more cynical part of me sees it as 'buy an X1'. Kind of a shame if that's the case.

Dang. When I first tried out the demo of this on PS3 ages back I just didn't get it and gave up really quickly. Since getting it on Vita my time is literally disappearing into nothing. I am really absorbed in this now, and the pick up and play benefit of the Vita is a real part of that.

Again, I'm not sure where this is coming from, as I did a lot of research before buying a TV. The Sony W6/W8 range came out on top as some of the best (non ridiculously priced) overall but particularly for gaming because of the extremely low input lag. As far as I can remember the Bravia range have always been sitting at the top of the semi-affordable - slightly expensive TV range. It wouldn't surprise me if they're losing sales to Samsung purely because Samsung TVs tend to produce cheaper and more affordable sets. In terms of reviews, the TV I got scored near perfect marks from pretty much everywhere, and generally looks really nice compared to the cheaper brands. Although saying that, the TV I got is cheaper than quite a lot of Samsung models of similar spec. My TV cost about £469 in the end due to a John Lewis price match, but comparing this to a same-price Samsung (UE40F6320) the Sony TV is better. Sony seem to be pricing more affordably these days.

Well I just got a Bravia as they are right up there in terms of spec. The KDL42W653 is ridiculously good for low input lag which is what it's all about for gaming. Far better than equivalent Samsung/Panasonic (~£500 range). Soon to be released Playstation now is also going to work on Bravias so there's another good incentive.

I really tried with this, but there was just something that felt very outdated (probably quest structuring). It's a shame since it had some potential in the combat. There were seemingly no interesting characters either. Dragon Age it is not, unfortunately.

That wouldn't be a gamepad then. That'd just be a handheld device, wouldn't it? By gamepad I'm talking about a second screen device that is separate to the machine, that could well be optional (since a TV would suffice). That's where the high cost came in since home consoles don't usually have a screen.

It's already discounted on Plus in the sale. That makes me think it won't go free anytime soon. Well, that and it's the sort of game (like Minecraft) that doesn't strike me as being given away free.

So this is just over £7 on Vita at the moment and I just got it. I've played maybe about 4 hours so far and enjoying it a lot. Seems like the kind of game you'll get a lot of value out of and apparently you can cross play with PS3 owners of the game as well as Vita. Anyone want to play online together?
