  1. Yes, I have a Wii U with a good number of games. My opinion has always been the same. By the way, it took no time. I remember a few months back you were like this so all I had to do was click your profile and found it within about 20 secs.
  2. I have it on good authority it begins with a Z. :p
  3. Regardless, you had the attitude you are now criticising people for. That makes you a hypocrite.
  4. Again, I'm not saying you can't change your opinion, but I'll be damned if you criticise people for making the same comments you did a few months ago!
  5. King V, what the hell happened to turn you to saying "Go buy a PlayStation" from this a few months ago: It's fine if your opinion as changed, but it's more than a little hypocritical to be having a go at people for having an attitude you once had.
  6. But would there have been room had the Wii not had something that made it successful? If Nintendo can replicate what they did with the Wii somehow then they can be successful again...but that's pretty all or nothing (you either get a Wii or Wii U situation). Going for similar specs is a backup for if their USP cocks up - they'll still get the Nintendo fan sales that they do now with the Wii U but perhaps more if they can get multiformats due to easy porting.
  7. For me, I say that already about the Wii even though it was a 'success'. I've said it before, but I think the Wii was absolutely one of the worst things to happen to Nintendo. Far worse than the Wii U, actually. And that's in spite of them making loads of money. The Wii was the console where they dramatically changed tact - they stayed at the same level of power and they switched focus to a totally different audience. The success of the Wii then completely dictated their philosophy going on with the Wii U - believing that pretty much all they needed was a low power machine with a gimmick. If the Wii hadn't been successful then they would perhaps have gone with something different for the Wii U (possibly a return to the traditional gaming that made them great). This quote perfectly summarises why people want Nintendo to go third party. Who wants 3 machines full stop? :p
  8. That's the most accurate interpretation, yeah. :p
  9. Totally forgot 2nd August is my girlfriend's birthday, so that's a no go from me. But everything else is still fine. Edit: and now I have a wedding to go to on the 29th/30th. 23rd Aug looking the winner?
  10. I'm Str/Def/M.Def/Speed/Acc 255 and Luck 130 for Tidus/Wakka/Rikku. About 36,000 HP for these characters. Rikku and Wakka have 4 slot equipment with Ribbon, Break HP, Auto Haste and Auto Phoenix Tidus only has Auto Phoenix and Auto Haste on his equipment. Will kit him out if he really needs it. Basically did the 5 x Yojimbo fight today and then called it a day since I was tired. You could Zanmato all the Dark Aeons if not for Dark Yojimbo, but it'd be a bit of a hollow victory and I've done all the work now, pretty much. I unlocked all the monster hunter enemies bar Nemesis, will fight all the enemies after the Dark Aeons I think. Sphere grid empty nodes are probably about 70% filled in so far. I probably don't need any more stats but will fill it with something like Magic or evasion for completeness.
  11. I'll be watching tomorrow. Fillet steak to help wash this down.... my body is ready for the inevitable but reassuring shitness our country produces. Aww yeah.
  12. If it was against their will as opposed to it being too difficult then that's pretty bad, no? And we shouldn't really be happy about it. I do think the whole situation has been blown up a bit though. Poor Nintendo.
  13. I didn't realise it was you and not Serebii due to the way he quoted it, but it seemed like the kind of thing Serebii would say (as it was a somewhat extreme, unelaborated comment that went against the evidence/current knowledge). PS4 is the top end console and does not bring 'incredible' losses.
  14. They make profit with the console sale combined with a game / PS Plus subscription with the PS4 from what I remember. You've also got to remember that selling at a small loss initially is a valid proposal, in fact I think it should be the norm. They will make money in game/subscription sales and as the console manufacturing cost goes down.
  15. Exactly. Everything we know to be true flies in the face of Serebii's comment. I thought it was very controlled of you to call his comment speculation and not something more flavourful, heh.
  16. Completely untrue. Xbox pushes Kinect, even still, which is very different to anything else out there, and they're trying to find new uses for it. Sony are developing VR, which is definitely different to what the other two consoles are doing. They even recently admitted that the glow on the PS4 controllers is for VR tracking, indicating they plan to get it out this gen. Nintendo are not the only ones who try something different.
  17. And I would strongly disagree that more power wouldn't result in anything good. Hardware inferiority is one of a multitude of factors that deter third parties from Nintendo consoles. The other factors are poor communication/attitude with said developers, a childish image (their policies towards messaging/communication certainly strengthen this view), a poor online infrastructure in comparison to the competition and a lack of incentives for people to remain tied to the company (a la PSN trophies/store downloads/PS Plus subscriptions). Graphical power is one piece of the pie. Other hardware related issues like a larger on board hard drive are also important. They could have got more third party support by contacting developers when deciding how to make their console - this would have revealed they needed more power and would have boosted third party relations in one. Online accounts, they have had a whole fucking generation to sort out. So yes, hardware is not the only issue and would likely not fix anything if corrected alone. But it still very much needs to be done.
  18. Nobody expects it. This is Nintendo - if you expect them to behave competently, you will probably be disappointed. What I will say is that your sentiment perfectly capitulates Nintendo's poisoned mindset. It's one they've developed step by step over the years, and was no doubt strengthened enormously by the success of the Wii U. They used to compete with everyone else. Here's two games for you - Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. Think how awesome they were, and still are, and know that they most likely won't get games like that in the current state. When you compete you can get people making games on your system, some of which will be awesome. It's just a shame, really. I think he was just being polite tbh. Personally, I'd susbtitute 'speculation' for the testacles of choice.
  19. True, they're usually pretty darn good. Already had these ages ago free on Plus on the PS3 so not really bothered. How are you getting on with this? I'm nearly ready to take on all the dark aeons (already done Dark Valefor). It's been fun powering up to complete this fully for the first time.
  20. Why 300? Seems a bit of an arbitrary value. Besides Titanfall bundles have been going for like 320 with codes, effectively making the console cost sub 300 when you factor in the cost of a game (which you will buy at least one of anyway with the system). Fair enough if it's not your thing but there is so much more value with the other consoles. Also Wii U launched at 300 vs 350 of PS4, so the launch price difference was never all that.
  21. I rarely buy games at full price unless I really want them. Most games I'll wait until they're £20 or less before I buy.
  22. I have to say, that is a pretty awful looking Pokemon.
  23. Alternate question: you feel they shouldn't? Why?
  24. Except it doesn't, and you might have realised that if you paid a little more attention. He said the 3DS was thriving. How does using lifetime figures prove that? As I said, nobody would use the term 'thriving' to describe the Wii in its final year of sale, despite it having great lifetime sales. The 3DS is in nowhere near the same situation but it is certainly past its peak.
  25. Don't you see what I had the problem with? It's that I knew you were so biased towards Nintendo that you would cite such a statistic; one that ignored the current situation in favour of the lifetime sales. It would be like if someone argued the Wii was doing really well in terms of game releases or software sales in its final year by using a 'total Wiis ever sold' figure. Don't do that. It's easy to see through and doesn't really mean anything. Ah, so we're going down the literal route to serve your point here? That something released recently, regardless of what it is, is new? You know what I'm saying. The technology we're seeing on it is not new. The new technology it has, it is not using, so for all intents and purposes, the technology we're seeing is 7 years too late.
